Vera Miles was so underrated as actress. The two roles in my opinion that should have scored her Oscar nominations was Hitchcock’s “The Wrong Man.” And “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.”
I have to agree with you. She was a tough, class act. If you haven't already, check her out in "Columbo" S3E1 "Lovely, but Lethal", and in "Psycho II". Oh, and "The Strange and Deadly Occurrence" is also worth watching.
Wow, I never thought i'd see these episodes on RUclips. I don't remember seeing these on t.v. in the 60s or 70s. I only know of them from Vera Miles' IMDB filmography. I'm a huge fan of hers - thank you for this!
So many questions - what time did these air when originally broadcast? I'm really surprised by the explicit, for the time, content and language. Also, how did you acquire these? Are they for sale, or being shown by MeTV or ?? At first glance, these seem dated. But looking deeper, these are some eternal questions. The madam character isn't all bad. She merely recognizes that men (and women) have a natural attraction and desire to see photos of beautiful people. But porn has definitely devolved into degrading and violent content. But even that is because somewhere in some men's souls is the desire to see this type of content. Love, or at least lust, is not always a beautiful thing as the Jeff Hunter character insists it can be. In light of the prevalence and nature of today's porn, this episode seems especially prescient. Thanks again!
It was a syndicated show, so times varied. In Detroit they would run early Sunday morning at the start of the broadcast day, as early as 6 or 7 am. Stations often ran them to satisfy FCC public interest requirements. Similar shows were "This is the Life" and "Christopher Closeup."
Not all bad? She's an evil sociopath, looking to exploit young naive girls and the worst in men just like Hugh Hefner. People like that are the reason everything turns to shit.
2 excellent actors with great chemistry. My favorite Insight.
Thanks for posting.
VM was an underrated beauty!

Jeff Hunters passed so young. They didn’t know as much about head injuries in 1969
Vera Miles was just as attractive as Liz Taylor back in the day.....

Check Vera out in Alfred Hitchcock's " Death Scene" , It's a real good episode.
Vera Miles & Jeff Hunters were the romantic leads on the classic John Ford western "The Searcher.''
I don’t know why Jeffrey Hunter was credited as “Jeff” here.

Jeffrey Hunter, Jesus of Nazareth and Star Treks Captain Christopher Pike in the pilot episode 'The Cage'.
Looks like their marketing plan worked better than they could have ever possibly imagined.

I used to watch the show as a kid in the '70s via NYC TV. It came on Sunday mornings after Davy and Goliath.

"Stay, James." Good boy.
The Original "The Devil wears Prada"
Love that you monitor these comments. My childhood dreams have been answered, speaking indirectly to father Ellwood, compliments of the Holy Spirit.
Captain Pike. The Original Captain Pike.
Didn't he pass away in his forties a few years after this aired?
Yes, Jeffrey Hunter died in 1969 at the age of 42 from a brain hemorrhage.
Jeffrey Hunter played as "Jesus Christ" in the Movie "KING OF KINGS".
Yes, but by the late 1960s his career was waning. Maybe if he had accepted a role in “”Star Trek” things would be different.
