Actually, you should learn to listen to people. He put himself in the middle of the mountains to protect himself from raids. Flat terrain surely allows him for better constructing. So y'know, check yourself before you make dumb comments.
RimWorld is finally here! If you enjoyed the episode, please consider leaving a like to show your support, it helps a ton. Thanks for watching, and there will be new episodes every afternoon!
So im extreamly happy about this....... lol enjoy have fun take your time ^^ Btw i like it when you play a game then upload same day, yeah yeah lots of work,But its kind of a hello ya'know, Or good morning i like it,And if you change the way you think just a bit then you might find it helpfully easyer and cordinated, Anyways thank you :) Oh and love everything else 10 years *
Couple tips~! I usually build a line of cement flooring before i build walls say steel. in a square shape ! ~!Power switchs Are great for solar panels or anything before group of batterys, And more later p;
Awesomesause175 Not in this game, though. They have all the options selectable in trainable intelligence. The key word here is "trainable". Try to train a cat to do anything, it won't care enough to obey you.
It is so awesome to know this game is gaining a big increase on popularity. With around 200+ hours into this game, I can just say this will be a really good series. Also, thank you NL for featuring this game in your channel!
Hey NL, here's some tips from a fellow newbie with the game. The most important thing is that you can customize your stockpiles to accept or reject certain things. To save room, make a stockpile for only Raw Materials and put them outside, and set your fridge stockpile to only accept food. Dumping stockpiles can be customized too, so put animal corpses near the butcher's table and rocks/trash far from the colony. I also find it useful to make a 1-square stockpile next to the stove that only accepts meals, so colonists don't need to walk as far. Second, the random walls around the area should be deconstructed for the useful Steel and Bricks. Third, the flames next to a colonists' skills means how fast their skill will increase. Have colonists do jobs based on their flames rather than their skill level. Deconstructing and constructing beds is a great way to level up construction. Finally, try to tame turkeys if you can. Getting 1 male and 1 female will generate eggs which your colonists can eat. Just be sure to make an animal zone for them. Tamed animals tend to wander far away from the base and get killed by raiders.
i just wanted to say thank you for making life easier for me. I wake up in the morning feeling like shit i sit down watch one of your videos and i fell good. btw nice vid been waiting for this series for a while.
When building your battery room, have two sets of batteries with each set connected to a separate switch. Turn off the switch of one set that is at full capacity, it will serve as reserve batteries in case of a power surge. Also just a reminder, you can build solar panels behind and in front of wind turbines. They wont block the wind turbine plus it's a good way to prevent trees from growing and blocking the turbines.
Just found out this game exists and immediately wanted to see an LP, I was so happy to discover you had a long lets play of it! :D I already love the atmosphere of Rimworld and your commentary suits it perfectly!
Well in terms of base building and aging it's more like Banished, your colonists age and die naturally (if they can "make" it that far that is) and you have to build suitable rooms for your colonists.
this series and pete complete's series are the three that i rewatch from time to time. pete's for the great commentary and high level play nl's for the hilarious clumsiness
Yeah I was quite disappointed that NL only played a few episodes of the new Rimworld recently. It's one of my favorite games of all time, would have loved to see an epic 50-episode adventure with NL playing the most recent Rimworld version.
I love how NL takes like 3 minutes to list a bunch of games that Rimworld is sorta vaguely like, when he could have just said, "It's sci-fi Dwarf Fortress."
the things about NL's lets plays, its pretty entertaining to see the egg learn and play the game correctly. but its even more entertaining to see him struggle and fuck up. cant wait how this pans out
Advice I see on Mathas's Rimworld that he seems to ignore, set emergency tasks such as fire fighting, patient ect as number 1 priorities, then the everyday tasks you want them doing on 2, and so on. Don't leave each person with 8 #2 tasks or they'll never do what you want them to at a given time
Like it, love it and wantt a lot more of it ^^ Yo NL, 2 tips though, refrigerated areas first, you oughta make double walls and "airlock" style entrance so the cold does not escape more than it has to (yes heat dispersion is a thing in rimworld). Second is about raids, the size of a raid party is determined by the value of the colony, weapons, items, food, owned structures, animals and colonists all count.
Ranoom lampoon so? sometimes the world doesnt fit into your little mathematic equations, percentages that are more than 100 are made to show that numbers are bigger than average, like a graph that goes up at 200% go upwards in half the distance for the same height, 150% is like 1.5 or 1 1/2
I've watched NL since 2013 and I actually think he's pretty much the same. A little more edgy now than before. The biggest differences are really him using different microphones.
@@fredrikbystrom7380 a little more edgy now? did you see the dog joke camera test video? his voice is definitely different and i think he's less afraid of swearing and speaking his mind, but yeah he's the same dude after all these years, entertaining as hell
For an early access game this one has more content than most of todays full releases. It's also fully moddable with tons of great mods already. This game is definitely worth 30 bucks.
tube71000 Where did you find that? As far as I know Tynan never said when he plans to release the full game. As far as I know this game is far from being finished.
I sort off remembered wrong. “The game is already fully playable, balanced, and generally free of bugs. Over 120,000 players have been enjoying it since our Kickstarter in October 2013. However, we want to add more value before calling it done. We're doing Early Access to indicate that we still intend to add more content to the game.”
Hey NL, just some tips to make your start a little easier. I’m by no means an expert, but I’ve been playing it since the original alpha build was released to backers, so I thought I might be able to lend some advice. Incapable of dumb labor means that colonists won’t be able to clean or haul; it doesn’t affect construction, mining, or anything else. Scary means they won’t help you put out fires. In my opinion, those are the two most detrimental debuffs in the early game, and are good to avoid. As far as refrigerated stockpiles go, it’s best to have them designated only for things that spoil. That basically means animal corpses you want to process, food, and herbal medicine. The reason it’s best to give them their own zone is because cooling large areas is very expensive in terms of power, and therefore you shouldn’t waste power freezing things that get no benefit from it. Typically, the only other thing I put in my freezer room is a butcher table and a stove, which is very helpful because it means your cook/butcher has all his ingredients right there and will get his work done faster. You haven’t put down power yet (in the video, at least), but when you do, it’s best to run power cables inside walls. This significantly reduces the risk of a short, which will start a fire. Also, keep batteries inside for the same reason. That’s all I have for now, but I’ll add more in future videos as they become relevant.
Alright people: taking all bets: first Conolist death. TAKING ALL BETS Ep. 2, Ep 3, Ep 4, Ep 5, .... ect. Bonus points if you guess a wipe successfully.
NL please schedule the night owl colonist to work longer into the night and allow him to sleep longer in the mornings. Will help a bunch on the happiness scale.
Have a feeling I'm gonna love your series on this but just a tip, Set everything from firefighting to flick to a "1" priority, It'll help alot in the long run. also you might want to get in the habit of customizing your storage rooms do's and don'ts before you move on. Have a lot of fun :D
He'll last a season, tops, assuming he doesn't get unlucky with raids and wiped horribly. I'm calling it here that, aside from an unlucky raid, the thing that'll kill him is a heatwave. Those events are bitches to deal with if you don't have tons of materials to waste on air conditioning.
putting your stove beside your freezer makes it far more effective, as they don't have to walk as far or as often. having it in a room that is beside the freezer is important, as otherwise the stove casts off heat, making the coolers work harder having 2 or 3 coolers is more effective for the freezer, and setting them to be -1, -3, and -5 is more efficient, as the coolers won't be running all of the time (less chance for break down and less drain on power) having a anti-chamber for the freezer (first door, 1x1 room, second door) will reduce cool air leakage from the freezer, saving power.
No, not unless you set the newborns to be trained. Catsplosions refer to the backlash of slaughtering newborns in DF, yeah? The animals only bond with someone that interacts with them, and the default sets them to no interaction. Slaughtering them without bonds is harmless.
***** Catsplosions used to be a bug that caused cats in DF to reproduce at alarming, FPS destroying speeds, resulting in hundreds of cats being born very rapidly and rendering a save unplayable. Culling the kits for food was the common solution to the catsplosion, not the event itself. Or so i've heard.
Malhekrow I'm pretty sure it's not a bug, just that they reproduce at a higher rate than most creatures and the game has no multithreading support, and since they "select" dwarves, butchering them causes mood decline and tantrum spirals.
Yeah... this game isn't for me. Seems really hard to tell what's happening and I'm not a big fan of the late 90's MMO art style. I'll probably see what Ryan can do with it though.
NL the Egg, This game seems real cool. My only suggestion is that, maybe, the game audio be turned down a bit. There's no challenge necessarily to hear your voice, but the game audio is almost competing with it. Thanks for all of the smashing content, keep it up at The Big Brother House!
"We'll put ourselves up here in the mountains..."
Terrain: Flat
GREAT SUCCESS, NL!
lol
Actually, you should learn to listen to people. He put himself in the middle of the mountains to protect himself from raids. Flat terrain surely allows him for better constructing. So y'know, check yourself before you make dumb comments.
It doesn't work like that...
roasted
+Protoshadow Hey that's what he said. He said he'll put himself in the middle of the mountains to have natural defence against raids.
Freaking Mathas is sleeping while Dan and NL toiling away at the day's work.
dan you're the best
Just like real life
Classic Mithis
mathas cant help having a messed up sleeping schedual. :P
Freaking Dan and NL going to bed while Mathas stays up and keeps working.
Lazy, nudist, nonintellectual bum.
Time to binge a 6 year old series
+1
Still in the "recent letsplays" category too lmao
How did you get here before me?
+2
Was it worth?
RimWorld is finally here! If you enjoyed the episode, please consider leaving a like to show your support, it helps a ton. Thanks for watching, and there will be new episodes every afternoon!

We need someone to stay lit Fam. Who will rise up?
You will, Mr. Dadling.
+Johnathan Pennison 100-100 still is 100
I dunno... 100 - 100 looks like 0 to me. I dunno what they/you teach people in Michigan.
i think what we really need is for someone to stay woke fam, who will truly rise from their slumber.
Well played Memesling
nl sounds so young here, dam we growin old together
WAIT, NL played Rimworld?! I've still got >1000 Isaac episodes left to watch, and now I have to watch this series too? Hype
even just the voice differnce is throwing me for a loop. This NL doesn't even know about luna lol
Dammit NL, you shoulda taken the guy who was good at growing. How else are you gonna get your totally legal weed?
I'm really looking forward to the drug update that the dev hinted at.
+Alba Troxx Hopefully you can go on drug wars, wipe out enemy settlements to take their drugs, and get other settlements addicted to your drugs.
I'll be happy if we can cultivate/concoct a decent variety and get my peeps some raging addictions but your ideas sound fun too.
+Alba Troxx I wish NL could make his settlers pirates and raid surrounding settlements, if possible.
Definitely not possible right now, sadly.
NL has hair.
This game is so unrealistic.
I take it back, the cat has not trainable intelligence.
THAT is realistic.
neither do dogs
Awesomesause175 Not in this game, though. They have all the options selectable in trainable intelligence.
The key word here is "trainable". Try to train a cat to do anything, it won't care enough to obey you.
Dogs have advanced trainable intelligence you poopoo face
+Awesomesause175 except that they do
I took it as he just got a bunk cat. like its a little slow but they all love hum haha!
It is so awesome to know this game is gaining a big increase on popularity. With around 200+ hours into this game, I can just say this will be a really good series. Also, thank you NL for featuring this game in your channel!

Listen to your HEART! Listen to the rain, listen to the voices in your BRAIN
Im fairly convinced that the bald guy of the future killed NL and is currently pretending to be him. His voice is way too different
i just wanted to say thank you for making life easier for me. I wake up in the morning feeling like shit i sit down watch one of your videos and i fell good. btw nice vid been waiting for this series for a while.
and yes i do realize how cheesy/cringy this sounds.
9:09 is when he starts to play
My hero
When i realized i wasn't the only one gambling on the this series. Is this a scene that's always existed or does Rimworld just promote generosity?
Been looking forward to this ever since the Prison Architect series. Keep up the great work!
Also EAT TINY.
I AM SO HAPPY ABOUT THIS LP
I'm always surprised just how good of a person NL is.
He regularly makes me proud
+ethan keal he's in Canada so it would be prime minister
It was a joke...
I'M SO EXCITED. I've been playing this non-stop, but a lot of RUclipsrs seem to have been slow to pick up on it. I'm so excited NL is playing.

I love how in my suggested videos, I have all Northernlion videos, and one video of a bald guy playing this game with facecam. The egg is strong.
There was an age where Josh and Nick would've been the go-to names, and as wonderful as Mathas and Dan are, I am somewhat sad that age has passed.
I'm so happy NL is doing rimworld because it is one of my current favs to watch, especially with people like NL playing
Wish you'd come back. Whole different game now
he did a series with malf last year, but i'd love to see them play it with the DLC's!
Just found out this game exists and immediately wanted to see an LP, I was so happy to discover you had a long lets play of it! :D I already love the atmosphere of Rimworld and your commentary suits it perfectly!
All-star comment section on this video.
Also, NL must have never played Dwarf Fortress if he thought Banished was the best analog to this game.
Well in terms of base building and aging it's more like Banished, your colonists age and die naturally (if they can "make" it that far that is) and you have to build suitable rooms for your colonists.
I love these kind of videos from you! I am so excited about this series. 30 minutes went by too fast.
WOOOOOOOOO
milk me daddy
huh, didnt expect cancer boi to watch northernlion
oh and, love your vids
ayyy two of my favorite youtubers , nice
you took the words out of my mouth!
this series and pete complete's series are the three that i rewatch from time to time.

5 friggin years??? Good god time flies
MALF is better.
Agreed
whats the full name of this game.
+naruto uzumaki (avik das) Rimjob
oh shit dropping bombs
MALF? More like Michael's Ass Looks FAT
So much NL content lately...what a glorious time to be alive.
I'm so glad NLs playing this game!
started playing rimworld about a year ago, crazy to see what the game used to look like
"Not very social when they're young and then they're really good at it!"
Uh, nope, I'm still bad at it
Same. But working on it
Nothing like watching the egg play RimWorld right after I finish recording an episode for my series
Giving this one 50 episodes, tops.
Very generous.
I'm not expecting more than ten.
I'ma guess 20-25, what does the winner get?
+Czar Cortez don't forget to like and share and we may have a season 2 ;)
the winner gets a free rimworld copy
the things about NL's lets plays, its pretty entertaining to see the egg learn and play the game correctly. but its even more entertaining to see him struggle and fuck up. cant wait how this pans out

Here because the new Pog Rimworld Co-op ain't coming fast enough
RIP the new Rimworld series. So sad to see it end so quickly.
This will be the greatest vid have been waiting for this since it officially launched
"Dan Gheesling the Nudist." The Northernlion Story
Stove needs to be fueled.
I also predict that the timber wolf running around will eat the cat.
Egg, you should have planted your crops on the rich soil to the west of your main building, it has 140% fertility, compared to regular soil's 100%
East*
its 150% I think
Ranoom lampoon um, there is.... percentages over 100 is like improper fractions, like 6/4

I'm so excited for this! I've missed your open ended serieses, cause I love the stories you make with them!
Also Rough = BALLS!!
"serieses" You have to be fucking kidding me... Its fucking series' if plural.
Ethan Johnson Well we're actually both wrong because google says that series is both single and plural. No apostrophe.
There's no reason to be rude or ugly to someone on the internet.
Actually, are you okay? You seem to be getting upset over something rather silly
I cant believe this is the same northenlion as today, just doesnt sound the same.
I've watched NL since 2013 and I actually think he's pretty much the same. A little more edgy now than before. The biggest differences are really him using different microphones.
put him at 0.75 speed and you're good to go
In this video he sounds like a minecraft RUclipsr. He mellowed out way more
@@fredrikbystrom7380 a little more edgy now? did you see the dog joke camera test video?
his voice is definitely different and i think he's less afraid of swearing and speaking his mind, but yeah he's the same dude after all these years, entertaining as hell
YESSS FINALLY THE RIMWORLD PLAYTHROUGH PREPARE FOR DESTRUCTION EGG!
Back when rimworld was simple and sober
I'm just watching this because I know shit is gonna hit the fan so hard, and I can't wait.
Ryan, Mathas and Dan building a colony. What could go wrong?
This game has been a vampire of my free time...so much fun, but holy crap it's hard to put down.
It would be amazing if you would try to make 2 episodes a day . Please think about it
I guess, but might be more reasonable to have 40 minutes episodes.
Oh man I totally knew you were gonna name the last one after Dank Memesling!
Jesus for an early access game its fucking expensive.
It's been on development for about 2 years and it has a lot of content, so I would say it's worth it.
For an early access game this one has more content than most of todays full releases. It's also fully moddable with tons of great mods already. This game is definitely worth 30 bucks.
It's description says that the game is "finished" but still under active development.
tube71000 Where did you find that? As far as I know Tynan never said when he plans to release the full game. As far as I know this game is far from being finished.

Oh god, there's no Turtle to save us all.
I've been waiting for this, and this was a great first episode. Can't wait for more!
Btw, if you guys want to see more rimworld, you all should check out Aavak. His content is really good and I can't encourage you enough to watch him.
Completely second this, love that guy.
(Also thanks for ruining my first high rank hunt.)
wish the guy would play more DF, his brain is perfect for it
*****
Yeah, that's how I found him. Still love his content but the DF series were some of the best.

I bet first death and wipe on 13

Manual Priorities in the work tab -- the red X -- allows you to really organize what your colonists will do in a day.
Only came here because of Dan Gheesling
YYYEEEESSSS, i loved you playing it in the stream! Im so excited for this game!
Wait a second, are you trying to tell me that your only woman in the group is 53?
How exactly do you plan to make kids now?
Capture other citizens and raid other settlements if possible. I would love to see NL become a pirate.
I know it dummy, you've missed the comedic point, NL brought one sexy grandma to sustain the human kind on this planet!
This is the first rimworld video i ever saw, my introduxtion to the game. Its so nostalgic to go find it
more like analingus world
Yes I've been waiting for this for so long this is my favourite game being played by my favourite RUclipsr

Excuses me stremer this is dwarf style ;)
NL Bed Rest doesn't mean sleep, it means your colonists will go lay down if they're hurt!
Was excited to see this in my sub box :3
I'm glad that you actually relatively know what you're doing, it kills me when people flounder about in a game.
Thank you for playing this game Northernlion :)
I was looking for a Let's Play of this, recently!
NL the Egg,
This game seems real cool. My only suggestion is that, maybe, the game audio be turned down a bit. There's no challenge necessarily to hear your voice, but the game audio is almost competing with it. Thanks for all of the smashing content, keep it up at The Big Brother House!
I have a cat named Tiny. He's the best cat ever. He has all of his claws and sharp pointy teeth. And he does not want to be eaten.
YES! may this playthrough live long.
Yay, I've been hoping for this series
"lets nestle ourselves in between mountains" *picks a flat land area*
*facepalm northernlion facepalm*
"Eat Tiny! Eat Tiny! We don't have to eat Tiny."Hahaha. So funny!
I'm happy you decided to play this!
