The bit about DreamHack changes is unfortunate. One of the things I LOVE about all your videos in Sweden are how the gatherings feel more genuine than many stateside. So many conventions have become little more than trade shows with fans. Clearly, someone needs to get people hooked on retro LAN parties like some other retro things. "Hey, you can pick up these old systems affordably and run games like we used to..." No idea if that would catch on. I know SOME people still do that, but making it seem more of a fun thing would be cool. (I might be talking out my ass...) Also: Cynthia and I love the headphones!😀
Agreed! I mean, it's a topic I thought about diving further into - Dreamhack is a bit controversial these days. It got foreign investors that's pumping in money, so they can arrange a lot of "sound and fury" at the event. And people like it - it's extremely popular with kids. And that should be a good thing. But it's moving away from what the event was all about. On the other hand, it's hard to say if there's enough interest in LAN stuff these days to do it differently. The people who are interested in retro games are mostly older, and LAN gaming can sort of be done everywhere over the internet. So.. Does it really fill a purpose today? Haha, I'm curious about making a deeper dive into the Dreamhack situation, but I don't think it'd fit Three Star Vagabond (too geeky). Maybe something for this channel though Yay! ^_^
Hej Miro! First of all, you are now an influencer, as I didn't know that I needed a pair of cat's ears to fit on my pink headphones - they are arriving tomorrow! Wow, so many events! I wonder if I could move to Stockholm? I've never done a geek event yet, but it is something that I'd love to do. As a huge Ghost fan, I did notice a Papa Emeritus 2 early on in your video. It looks tremendous fun. You stay Geeky too Miro 🖖
Yay! Go cat ears! These are actually not detachable so people tend to stare at me quite oddly when I have them on during long flights ;D Haha of course you'd spot Papa Emeritus there! That was an awesome cosplayer at an event back in February. I hope to see more Papas next Feb. Cheers and hope you're having an awesome weekend! :D
Thank you for this video. This is exactly what I need, it gives a great overview over everything happening!
Oh wow, happy to hear that! I'm trying some new things to see what I can do that's more recurring than just events :D
