    Fun fact: Nehekhara Warriors and Horsemen are completely new units. They didn't exist on the tabletop, but were made specifically for TWW2 by CA and GW working together.
    The reason they exist is to give Tomb Kings a medium infantry and cavalry option between their crappy low-tier and strong high-tier stuff. That was a major problem for Tomb Kings on the tabletop, and it would've been so in this game too. Nehekharan Warriors and Horsemen fix this problem, and make unit progression as the Tomb Kings a lot smoother.

      Yep. I made a whole set of added units to make the Tomb Kings able to balance out against the other End Times forces - since I hear there's an Endhammer now, if anyone wants my list, they can have it.

    Small clarification with the Realm of Souls; while the healing is army-wide, it only actually heals your skeletal units (namely the ones with the Realm of Souls icons on the bottom of their statcard), your constructs, heroes and lords all miss out on the healing from it.
    EDIT: Same deal with The Restless Dead, only heals undead units, not constructs.

    FYI that it should be mentioned that there *are* niche situations where the ROR Necrosphinix is weaker than the base version; as any faction with high magic resist or monstrous units with fire resist will be taking significantly less damage from it. Mostly this would mean the entire dwarf roster, specific units from a variety of faction factions(such as the Phoneix from the High Elf roster) and for also certain lords on the campaign map(although will not come up as much of course in battle mode).

    A significant weakness of most TK heroes and lords is that they're vulnerable to fire and take 25% damage from fire. Liche Priests and Khatep are the only heroes/lord not vulnerable to fire.
    I would choose Skeleton Spearmen over Warriors since they have significantly higher defense. Yes, Spearmen do less damage than Warriors, but it doesn't matter that much since they're just there to hold while your constructs do the real damage.
    You can't play the TK like the VC since their healing is much weaker. Realm of Souls and Restless Dead only heal 8 hp per second. So Realm of Souls will only heal 336 hp in total. While Restless Dead will heal maybe 500 to 1,000 over the course of a battle if you cast judiciously, although it could be less if you only cast the most expensive spells. That's about the equivalent of one Invocation of Nehek for every undead unit in your army.
    The interesting thing with higher tier TK infantry is that they have OK melee attack and defense, much better than VC infantry, but they have bad armor. So when you're fighting against the TK, it's more cost effective to bring regular infantry than armor piercing infantry since you won't be benefiting that much from the armor piercing damage and the armor piercing infantry will end up taking more damage since they have lower defense.

    • @Malus1531
      @Malus1531 6 лет назад +4

      I've been wondering about the spearman, the same argument seems to apply to other races. I recently started my first Dark Elf campaign and aren't sure what to use as my front line. I've seen some say that Dreadspears are better than Bleakswords and even Black Ark Corsairs because they have higher defense and can hold the line better, despite being worse at fighting infantry. Some say Black Ark Corsairs are great for the line, but Zerkovich says they are too weak at holding and better as flankers.

    • @victuz
      @victuz 4 года назад

      But I mean isn't the armor piercing damage always applied? The game says that.

    • @The123karate
      @The123karate 4 года назад +5

      Victor Silva yes, AP damage is always applied, but by their nature AP units tend to have weaker melee defence, due to not having shields and they tend to attack slower than the regular unit. This is why a unit like Nehekhara Warriors will dish out more damage against light infantry than an AP unit like empire Greatswords for example

    In campaign, wanna add, its worth just merging and re-recruiting your frontline, as its a 1 turn and free action, merging keeps your experience but also gets rid of 2-3 turn replenishment which is needed if you are zerg rushing a province.
    Keep in mind too, while you dont have that many armies, bunching your armies together can create a REALLY NASTY rush. Especially because of those anti-infantry and anti-large options. Just need a few spearmen to upset cavalry and blam, everythings covered.

    I would advice to use skeleton spear men instead of warriors as they have higher defence. Since they're only there to act as a sticky wall, it's best to make the wall last as long as possible. Also, you didn't mention the unique carrion unit. Stronger version that is also large, and they have a 1 use death from the sky ability. I actually find that unit to be fairly decent as a flyer. Other then that, really good video. (Also, I might be stupid, but I'm sure the spear men last longer then the warriors).

    good to see you back :) and thank you very much for the huge amount of work ( testing, comparing scripting, rehearsing etc) you put into making this guide :)
    only a small addition (yes 3 notes to a 40 min long guide are small in comparison to the wealth of information displayed, minute even): -normal tomb king lords are only usefull either on the skeleton horse or on the war sphinx otherwise he is just to slow and far to easy to bully around which makes your already questionable leadership even more unstable.
    '-settras chariot of the gods is too expensive for the gain and loss it brings to the mele stats and settra on foot gets just bullied and thrown around by literally anything, Tombkings in general have the "my will be done" corpse cart ability to raise melee attack and melee def around them, not being able to use it because your lord gets thrown around by some big units like their new chew toy or a strip of beef jerky is just frustrating. his legendary equip on the otherhand is pretty tasty and can give even kholek (for about 30 sec) a real run for his money.
    -and one of advantages of the hierotitan is his (?covenant of power?) ability that buffs magic reserve AND recharge rate, the casket does only the former. which in combination with the low cost of the nehek spells leads to some interesting possebilities.

    I know you put a TON OF WORK AND TIME into these amazing videos, and have many more to go. But maybe someday, we could see you bring this fantastic template to some of the historical TW's? Not sure if that's your thing, but maybe some kind of partner video with Invicta would be the coolest thing. Thanks for all your hard work dude!

      I feel like the issue with that would be that in the historical games the armies are pretty much the same gor every faction with a few exceptions and warhammer has very unique armies for each faction

    I'm late to the party, but recently gave the tomb kings a try with Queen Khalida. I ended up running with an almost exclusively construct army and it was hilarious to play with.
    My "front line" consisted of 2 warsphinxes, 2 necrosphinxes and Khalida herself. 4 ushabti greatbows to stand back and shoot things, along with a bone giant for those high threat large units. 2 necrotects, a caster, and then the rest was just sepulchural stalkers. I found that with their redline upgrades they performed better overall in melee than necropolis knights, and their stalk and ranged attack made them great for surprise harrasment around the field while the sphinxes and greatbows whittled everything down. Kind of micro intensive but very fun. Also felt cool to run with a very "serpentine" focused army, especially as Khalida

      Get "Shadow PC" if you don't have a strong one. Its a LEGIT company and you get a dedicated and STRONG PC that is soley yours for you a pretty low monthly fee(No I do NOT work for them😆).
      I have been playing TWW 2 on High Definition even though my Laptoo has no business doing so and other games like Statecraft on near Ultra graphics. It saves you from buying a hugely expensive PC if all you want to do is play a handfull of fun games and don't want thw headache of upgrading your PC every few years as that can really get expensive

    I use chariots like the armies of old Charge firts into the center(if there no spearmen) and then infantry on the back, when the infantry is close i retreat them back and then use them to flank. that firts charge deals a lot of damage.

    From what Ive noticed is that the regular Skeleton Chariots do have one advantage over the Archer Chariots. The skeleton in the chariot with the halberd will swing at enemies at the sides of the chariots, and they use the same stats as the rest of the chariot so if they stay in melee they can do more damage then if the Archers get stuck in melee because then the horse attack the front while the halberdier attacks the sides.

    • @Zerkovich
      @Zerkovich  6 лет назад

      I think the Melee Chariot should just have better Melee stats I think. Would make more sense.

    skeleton archers incredibly strong, you can easily outnumber your enemy in archers and if they don't focus your archers their expensive units will die and if they focus your archers your constructs can run free killing anything they want

    In my play thru I mainly just mixed in constructs with infantry and most Ai enemies melt away because of all that rush power they have. No need to get that flanking bonus only exception being the chariots. I got bit of an rush army feeling from them then, even though they are slow. Because there was rarely need to use those range units/skills as enemies will mostly run away in terror pretty soon. So its like slow huge wall of terror moving towards you shooting and never stopping

    I have to disagree a bit with your assessment that Nehekara warriors shouldn't be used as a frontline unit. Like with most things, I think it depends on who you're facing. For example, against most Bretonnian - and virtually all Skaven - infantry, nehekara warriors will massacre them. Against factions like the High Elves and Dwarfs, you probably wouldn't want to use them for that purpose. I certainly understand why you say they shouldn't be in that roll, but there are situations where I think it is perfectly viable, if not preferred.
    Otherwise, great guide as always! Vampire player here, but I've been struggling to how to effectively utilize the Tomb Kings. This video really helps!

    • @Zerkovich
      @Zerkovich  6 лет назад +1

      Sure, true enough to some extent. But Skaven have plenty of Slingers that could blast down Nehekara boys before they're even able to catch any Rats. And without Shields, they'll feel those missiles. I think ultimately they won't be able to hold on and survive a long time though. Depending on your build that may be a problem or not.
