Man, I watched a few reviews of this thing and nobody said anything about 100w being accessible only at 4300K. I also don't like the form factor. Had a Godox LC500R mini, which is identical to this one, and gripping it to anything was a pain in the ass. But that one at least had another 1/4 inch hole on the top, which this thing doesn't. I also don't really trust the plastic of this light. Pretty sure that putting it high up horizontally as a top light with only one point of attachment is a very bad idea. Probably gonna go with a more traditional tube from another brand.
@YourFilmmaker after some thoughts and comparisons I'm still considering it. Kinda want to make the rightest choice, but I know there isn't one perfect light. I can order it from Pinduoduo for just 100 bucks and it clearly packs way more than other lights for the price. Right now I'm in between the CF100 and the Amaran Ace 25C. The Ace is $80 on Pinduoduo, but price isn't a factor between them. On one hand the Zhiyun gives two more stops of light , but the Amaran beats it in all other ways. If you can help with these things, I'd really appreciate it: First, how does it behave when dimming in RGB mode? Like, most cheap lights shift in hue like crazy when dimming down and the color is inconsistent. (Gerald's review shows the Ace 25C seems to perform great at this) Second, and most important for me, does the build really inspire confidence? I mean, in this video you told it feels solid, but I know it can't be that good. I found one review where the guy says that buttons feel quite bad and the barn doors feel like they could snap when taking on and off. Still, the most critical scenario for me is mounting it horizontally. That single 1/4 inch hole seems kinda iffy. I could probably just use a clamp to hold it in the middle, but again I'm sure the thin plastic walls aren't supposed to bear such loads.
@@borisbritva1665 FIrst of all these are two different types of lights. I feel you want to go the the CF100. Have you seen the c100 from Zhiyun? The Barnboors feels like they'll break off but I do not think they will except you purposefully try to break them off. and for me the light looks and feels well made. In terms of the hue shift I do not have the cf100 with me to test at the moment. What I wished it had was Bluetooth control. and I see no issues with rigging it with clamp as there are no rigging points except at the bottom
@@YourFilmmaker yes, I know about the C100, but right now I'm in a $100 budget range, and the C100 is literally two times more expensive, even on Pinduoduo. For me remote control is welcome, but not worth doubling the price. Right now I'm using a Viltrox RB-V40 (among other lights I have). Don't know if you have a review of it, will check after this reply. But for me it's just the perfect light, if only not for the lack of built-in battery. But hey, I got it for like 70 bucks, and it's just unbeatable. 40 watts, great RGB capability, G-M shift (BTW, one more point against most Zhiyun lights, esp CF100), great build with an aluminum chassis encased in plastic. And to top it off, an included soft box, which is kinda small and janky to attach, but it does the job. Yeah, after all that said, I'm kinda thinking towards the Ace 25C again, just because of G-M shift and other things. Anyway, thanks a lot for reading my ruminations and providing useful info
It looks beautifully crafted. Great design. I wonder what’s in the box leaning on your wall
Love your video quality, keeps getting better with each new video 🔥

Thanks for this. I believe reviewing film gear should be honest.
