Great lesson.. Only discovered this song the other day on a live pub zoom and headed straight to your site to search for ukulele lesson.... Only thing I get stuck on is the hammer timings... Also tried the intermediate lesson... Keep up the good work and those funky finger blues moves!
This is a great tutorial man! I have to be honest. I had to leave the video and check out Neil young cuz I was born in 1999. I checked out this song and also 'Old man' which was in the Expendables 3 movie. Who knew? Not me. The guy has a great voice, plays guitar and even plays harp. So cool. I think I'll check out more music like that. The only set of older tunes I've been accustomed to would be Dion and the Belmonts and those really old ones. Again, great video man!
Go through his catalog, and check out when he played in a band called "Crosby, Stills and Nash." They have a great song called "down by the river" where they all shred this epic live version. Neil is one of the few people to have the honor of being on both rolling stones list of 100 best singers and 100 best guitar players!
@@TenThumbsProductions I will thanks. Also, check out this song if you get time: ruclips.net/video/qGuLqe-NMKg/видео.html : it plays really nicely on ukulele and it's a staple song here in the Caribbean.
@@TenThumbsProductions I bought my 4.5yr old her first Uke for Christmas. Last Saturday she asked for me to pull up a video for her to learn from, from that guy I watch on RUclips. So, I pulled up your aptly timed "Very First" tutorial vid from Christmas. She sat with her clip on tuner and we synced it up and she jammed on her lonesome for a bit. She heard this vid while I was making breakfast and asked if she could play till the food was ready. ;) You're an inspiration to the most important person in my life. I thought you should know. Have a great Saturday.
Man, that made my throat lump up and everything! Wow, that is exactly why we do what we do. Thank you so much for sharing your gratitude, love is the coal that makes this train roll!
Bravo. You’re always coming with classic songs! These are manageable and fun to learn! Do you have any Police songs? Easily one of my Top bands. They had a great vibe and many styles of music that they incorporated into their music.
We have never done any police which is ridiculous, I've learned Walking on the Moon and Roxanne like 9 times each to teach them for the channel and than life happens, keep your eyes peeled, we need to remedy that!
I enjoy your tutorials, thank you. This one is not crazy hard except that one little bit of fingering. I think if you do the playing and I do the singing we can make a good team man. :-) Joking with you, keep em coming brother.
Ohhhh no. LOLOLOL I am losing it right now. 😂😂😂 I was really getting it, following along very seriously, and then he started singing. 🤣🤣 ohhhh it’s ok. 😂🤣💀 I just had no idea it would be like that. Very caught off guard. Great tutorial though! Seriously I mean it! I am thankful to know how to play this song on my uke!
Nice! I bought my solid body electric ukulele b/c it looks like Neil's guitar "Old Black" it olny has 2 vol/ tone knobs and no tremlo bar but it's close enough for me.
In case people wonder guys like this are the reason why now I have to say “before we do a sing along just a friendly reminder that I am not a singer. I am a guitar/ukulele player and the singing is just designed to help you see where the lyrics fit with the chord changes”

Thanks LJ, it is a great song! With the hammer ons really try to think about them as one beat. 4 notes that take place over one beat and if you can really focus on landing cleanly on the 1 after it will sound great!

My husband is constantly playing this on guitar. Can't wait to learn it and surprise him by joining in on uke :)
The family that jams together stays together! That is awesome!
Thats too cute☺
Awesome as usual Tyler! Need to add this to my 10 thumbs playlist.
Paul Thomson I want to see the list! Can you post it here?
