i have a question. if all scandinavian languages are mutually intelligible, why do you need norwegian subtitle for swedish speech?

we can understand when they speaking easely, like american and Britich.
      But the scripture it's diffrent.

All Scandinavian languages aren't mutually intelligible, Danes on the one side and Swedes/Norwegians on the other can have a hard time understanding each other. It's like you get the gist of what they're saying but not the details.

Danish is very hard to understand for many Swedes, finnish is totally impossible for a Swede to understand, it's like fuckin russian or something, Norwegian is probably the easiest one to understand for a Swede, but I guess it's different for many depending on where in Sweden they've grown up and other things.. There's always some people who have trouble understanding norwegian.

some words could easily to mix up between our languages and this is suppose to be a "skåne" accent which is very different than traditional Swedish and another point would be for immigrants who not mastered Norwegian yet would understand it better. but i think its just standard to text it, even some Norwegian dialects gets subtitled on the news etc.
And our languages is not mutually intelligible i had on several occasions been forced to speak English in Denmark for them to understand me and vice versa.
