I did this in 1986 with my 66 beetle. The layout is almost identical though your construction is better. My guitar case fit perfectly under the bed. I had a two burner Coleman stove behind the driver seat and a small sink made from a large funnel that drained through the floor. This assisted a lot with cooking when you didn’t want to open the doors or windows in bad weather. I had storage shelves underneath the rear window and curtains all the way around. I lived this way for many months and never paid rent again. When you take those extra seats out there is a remarkable amount of room in the original Volkswagen beetle. On one evening while camping out with the forestry crew I ended up with five people in the car! It started when someone came to see why I wasn’t at the campfire. The weather was lousy. Instead of talking through the open window I said come in sit in the driver seat. Pretty soon another person came to check where the first person had disappeared to. This was repeated until four were sitting cross-legged on the bed facing the driver side and one person was in the driver seat. I was cooking snacks and making hot drinks for everyone. Some Cajun radio station playing on the old am radio… Compared to living out in the elements it was pure luxury! Everyone on the crew started trying to figure out how to live in their cars after that. The beetle had amazing off-road capabilities. Easily equal to and sometimes exceeding the abilities of large four-wheel-drive pick up trucks. It was a very comfortable and efficient way to live. I loved it. Sometimes when I woke up in the morning and there was fog and mist all over the windows from the night condensation I would think it was a gray cloudy day. After making breakfast and getting dressed I would open the door and be dazzled by the bright sunshine and beautiful blue sky! I would’ve gotten up earlier if I had known it was so nice!😅. Later I got a 67 square back and did the same type of interior conversion. The extra space of the hatchback meant that two people could sleep comfortably, one in the standard bed next to the driver seat and another behind the driver seat slightly elevated. It made it much easier to live and travel with my canine companion though the second bed was actually long enough for a human. Eventually I was able to acquire a Volkswagen camper bus but after a couple of months I got rid of it and went back to the squareback because it was too big! I hated that you had to get out of bed to change the radio station or make breakfast. It sounds crazy but there was just too much room. It took twice as long to clean the house😅
I agree whit you! Is too big,too much to Clean! We See you dont need much for coocking, dishes, and Others!I Love IT!All your Videos it makes my day Happy!

I really appreciate this project, but like Rodrigo made, he has a motorcycle and a mountain bike in a little motorhome haha that was great, maybe my project I gonna use a station wagon like a Toyota Corolla SW. Let's try .
Oh now I see what you did. I kept my seats in and made it still work. Then again I am 5"2 and so was able to set it up so it was fine for me. I still slept and cooked etc. It was a trip.
I'm thinking of putting a tent on my bug's roof and making a round seat in the back of the car. Hopefully accomodating 2 persons that way. Sleeping on the roof and sitting and cooking in the back of the beetle. Does that sound logical to you? Would there be enough space?
hello, pretty soon i will be acquiring a 72 super, was wondering how you got the rubber mats for this car? i perfer rubber mats to frabic ones because they are easier to clean but I haven't been able to find any for the classic beetles.
Barro, neve e lugares inclinados.

Good morning, afternoon or evening, how did you do those boards? How much does it cost? To what measures? And how much does these iron parts and their corresponding size cost?
