@@neirinjoseph6817 it blows me away that he can make the most fun and catchy music while also chopping up samples in such a complex and mindblowing way
Love this track, but I have to say Sound of One - As I Am just edges it for me... I know it’s technically not his track but his remix always sits in my top 5 UKG tracks of all time
What a tune! One of the first st tunes I bought at an independent record shop. Still own it and lead myself to working in a record shop for six year’s.
It's first sung at 0:36 in. It's a higher female voice@@louiseprince4806 The sort of mid-range "You" that you hear a lot of is the last part of the phrase. So, high pitched "Jesus loves" mid pitched "You" (...but it ain't mine(sic?))
Such a bomb. A timeless happiness pump, one of my lifetime favourites that made my 2000s a blast. And what a cultural background! A US producer exploring the UK garage style over a piece by a Frenchman sourcing from the American South blues heritage!
@Dezrt - I don't see your comment anymore but I appreciate it! Indeed, Todd Edwards is among the founding fathers of UKG, my "exploring" is an understatement
I remember when this came out and the guys that worked at the DJ store went crazy over this....lets face it if it wasn't for Todd Edwards there would be no Speed Garage and a lot of what came after. The people that say he sound like MK don't know what they are talking about....completely different styles.
Wow, this is amazing. Loving the guitar progression, and the choppy vocals. This Todd Edwards guy really knows what he's doing. No wonder he's so loved down in the 90s House scene.
Literally don’t know what part of nostalgia my soul wants to feel, it’s like having adhd on a trip dove Hennessy breakdown heart break rushing dancing , like where is it all gone 😂❤
Every time I hear this tune, it rings in my mind for days n days.. That's how much I love it. It is a true classic of instrumental genius. I am a true garage girl 😍
After all these years I still can't decide which mix is better...the vocal or the dub? Both are really good. Todd's style will never be matched, he really put himself on the map with these
So cool how vinyl has come back strong in recent years. Lots of new releases on vinyl and classics being re-pressed left and right. It's a great time to enjoy vinyl nowadays
if you think all the todd edwards tunes are the same, you have to wise up a touch. DJs don't produce tunes to make money, they produce tunes to get gigs. This is where they make the money. Making tunes isn't really worth the time to most DJs.
@kingskid96 Well many producers desgin their tracks to be mixed in a club. I agree, many house artists are repetitive, even my favorites, but you have to realize these tracks are for club use, not sitting in listening at a computer. That said, i still listen to house at my computer all day. I love it.
Distinctive yes, but you recognise a Neptunes track when you hear it, or Timbaland for that matter. It's the same production all the time / sticking with favourite beats and samples. I would recommend comparing this remix to the recent Appaloosa - "The Day (We Fell In Love)" remix and see if they sound the same. I would say the sound has evolved considerably.
As Todd and many others have said "People will remember something more musical than something more Technical"
And Todd nails both

He's a great producer..some real brilliant tracks ..remixes for St Germain and Moloko come to mind
Unless you're Skrillex lol ~jokingly stating this~
@@mikipiediaelburro7588 which Moloko track has he remixed ?
Best Todd Edwards record hands down, saw him in London not so long back and asked if he'd give it a play... First track.

Todd inserted the message "Jesus Loves You" utilizing sample chopping throughout the song😁
I have no idea how I never heard that chop until I read your comment. I’m kinda shocked. So many layers from Todd!
Pls I’m having apaplexy, am I really older than I think, are you saying Jesus loves you us actually sang in this, and if so where, help😂❤

I guess my previous comment didn’t post, but the first instance is right at 0:36. It’s a higher female voice saying it
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. 🧝

MK is phenomenal but you're right a completely different style and if we are honest todd isn't in a league....he is a god
@@Rukkah Hence the Todd 'The God' Edwards nickname
MK was a massive influence on Todd Edwards.
Todd lists his influences as MAW, Todd Terry, MK, EZ, MJ Cole, Tuff Jam
He did say he was just trying to mimic him originally haha. Surpassed him in my eyes.
First heard this in 96. locked on inside the mix compilation. I had great musical taste as a kid 😂
One of my fav Garage tracks of all time. In Camden Palace raving HARD
