Why I felt no pity for this character, their panic and continuation to drive down the road was their own mistake. At the end of the story, it was just proof she was too stupid to live, and thus why she wouldn't do a 3 point turn lol.

Yep. After seeing physical proof of their story the first thing I'd do is run outside. Are all characters in horror mentally challenged?

If it was me I would have grabbed every pointy object and weapon from the house and skipped out of the door so the spoooky man could torture me profoundly to teach my dumb ass a lesson.

Why not just turn around and drive back the way she came until she was back in a familiar area? Like who keeps driving straight after they miss a turn? Especially when the road is pretty deserted. Just make a u turn and head back. So so dumb. Good story though, but that really bothered me.

This is one of those stories where the author focused so much energy on making it scary that there wasn't enough for the logic center of the brain. This is still a nice scary story, but some suspension of disbelief is required.

I know this is an old comment but what I'm guessing is, her dad actually never called her. She kept commenting on how strange it was he called or even that she went. It was probably the killer entity that beckoned her to come.

The mentioned it a little but weren’t explicit. From what I could tell, no one had ever stayed the whole night, so it was more of them thinking that the man only came at night, and daytime might be safer. If I remember, one of them, Calvin likely, said something about how they don’t even know if it’s safe during the daytime or not. But that’s just what I got at least, feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.
This is definitely one of my favourites, i come back to it each time i look through the channel for some throwbacks to listen to. Such a cool concept

A great idea to defeat the cloaked man outside would be using a water Gun or a foam sword to attack him since he always uses your weapon to attack you so this would be non lethal and would give you the time to escape to your car and drive away despite the slashed tires. It would be slower but the car should move nonetheless and you would be safe inside of it.
