Your attention to detail, crisp narration and commitment to prototype really got our attention. So much so, we just linked your video to our “N-spiration” Playlist and Subscribed to your channel. We hope to send lots of traffic your way knowing we could all use some N-spiration!
Hi from the U.K. 🇬🇧 Brilliant to see you posting again and BRILLIANT and then some is what this already excellent model has now become. Looking forward to watching forthcoming ops sessions🛤🚦👍🏻 Take care and God bless you and yours.
Thank for showing how permanent is not so permanent, but improvements can and should sometimes be made. Your layout is beautiful, and thank you also for being brief and to the point. If model railroaders want to be spoon feed this stuff they can go to other videos that take longer.
thanks Matthew! No doubt I've sacrificed some viewership amongst beginning model railroaders but I make my videos in the style I like to watch - targeted at active minds!
Great to see you back on RUclips. Works looks absolutely great. Something to consider: The expansion of your Operating Crew as they get older 😀. Hope to see you post again very soon.. Sincerely - MaynardOfOhio.
The blending of the 3D scenery into the photo backdrops is simply remarkable. The composition is seamless and totally convincing. And speaking of convincing, it is difficult to comprehend this layout is presented in N scale. There are few, if any, N scale layouts that look this close to the real world. The photos in the October 2021 issue of RMC could stand as prototype photos. This layout is gorgeous and most inspiring. Thank you, Dean Ferris
Just 'visited' your layout for the first time. What a great layout! Love your watercourse through the desert hills. Gunna have a look at your tour video next. Cheers, Terry
With your infrequent uploads I'd forgotten how much I absolutely adore your Oregon Joint line, beautiful layout and the improvements will be wonderful. Thanks for sharing and continuing to be an inspiration to me, a massive newbie.
thanks Dilton - your words really mean a lot to me. I wish I'd taken more photos from my previous layout (which was basically an earlier version of the OJL concept) so I could put together a video of what not to do - it was a mess of a spaghetti bowl track plan complete with hidden staging with only 3" vertical clearance. We were all newbies at some point, the key is to just keep trying things and not worry about making mistakes. I have plenty of modeling friends who can't seem to ever make progress because they're frozen with indecision over making sure they get everything right the first time. I've done that too - it's not a productive path.
@@oregonjointlinemodelrailro4125 Thanks for the reply! I'm a broke uni student so I definitely lean towards the "get it right the first time so you don't waste money" camp. But I know you're right and I won't get anywhere unless I get my hands dirty. I guess I'll heed your advice by keeping things small scale until I've got the experience to get ambitious (small mistakes are hopefully cheaper). Thanks again!

I'm impressed, Dean, with what a great improvement you've achieved in just a few additional inches. The changes look great. I really like your O&NE 70 Tonners ........ sweet. Thanks for the excellent update! Mike
Beautiful railroad! Your scenery is very inspiring and your skill is something I definitely aspire to. I showed my wife a still frame from the video and she thought it was real!
Beautiful layout. I love the scenery, time period, and attention to detail. I am lucky to have Doyle McCormack's GN F7 on my layout, usually sunning itself by the Brooklyn yard roundhouse. Your consists are amazing. I am jealous!
Absolutely fantastic upgrades. You did one heck of a job and knowing that area you captured it. Great photo ops. Thanks very much for sharing this post.
Enjoyed your RMC article a pile Dean. We have a very similar approach to the hobby. Found myself physically nodding in agreement with your insight and observations!! Congrats on educating the masses on what N scale can truly be. Cheers. -grant
This is one of my favorite layouts on RUclips, looking even better now. I really enjoy your well presented and well thought out ops videos. Keep up the great work and hope you can post some more!
Remarkable expansion. I know this is an odd idea, but if you guys ever do another post-1969 session, I'd love to see you experiment with adding in Amtrak equipment for the passenger trains.
I'd love to view this in person, is this a private or a club layout? Where is this located? I have family history in the fictional area you have chosen. I can't get enough of your well storied videos.
Noice to think if this ever got to still be running in 2019, it be nice to see an n scale up 4014 tackling the steep grades of this route while tryin NG to avoid crashing into the many other passenger and freights
How did you make those rock formations at Picture Gorge? Also I would like to suggest covering the operations of individual local trains for future videos.
Missing my usual dose of Oregon Joint Line. Hope all is well.
Your layout has got to be one of, if not the most photogenic model railroad I've ever seen!

Your layout is a master study in forced perspective and the illusion of space. Its the best at it I've ever seen.

Hi,
awesome layout. Great work man. Best regards, Martin
Any chance of some new ops videos or any updates from 2021/22 seems strange to realise it's been over a year since this video was posted.
I love how it’s turned out!!! It all looks amazing!
Dean,
The work you accomplished definitely adds to the greatness of the OJL. I look forward to seeing in person during the next op session !!

Hay Dose any one know what happed to Oregon joint line???
Very good scenery. I really like the changes. Were you able to have an operating session?
Very impressive improvements. You've made an amazing layout even more incredible! No mean feat. Thanks for the update.
I need that as my ringtone *OREGON JOINT LIINNEEEE* I love it
I've had several of my relatives do exactly that!
@@oregonjointlinemodelrailro4125 I can say it and my wife will laugh it has a way of brightening a mood.
3:12 Do not think you let that got past me,. After all that work, time to call the Track Gang and replace all those cut ties.
lol, those passenger cars are pretty light so probably plenty of life left in those ties
oh, so excited to see a new OJL video!
Hey. Thanks for posting a video.
Where have you gone man
Everything looks great . I was wondering what ground cover materials did you use in the logging facility? ...thanks
for the O&NE I used red cinder ballast from Arizona Rock for the tracks and log yard. For the A&M I used sanded tile grout.
@@oregonjointlinemodelrailro4125 OK thanks for the information I already will be using the grout also.
Remarkable expansion. I know this is an odd idea, but if you guys ever do another post-1969 session, I'd love to see you experiment with adding in Amtrak equipment for the passenger trains.
Amtrak? Uggh!

Nice spread in RMC OJL!!

Hi Paul, I'm near Ft Worth TX and I'm the owner and builder of this private layout. Thanks for the feedback!
Hi, is there any video that shows the entire track plan of this remarkable layout... Thanks!!
Noice to think if this ever got to still be running in 2019, it be nice to see an n scale up 4014 tackling the steep grades of this route while tryin NG to avoid crashing into the many other passenger and freights
That came out bitchin, always loved this layout,👍👍👍
When you guys uploading next? Patiently waiting here. 😂😂😂😂
How did you make those rock formations at Picture Gorge? Also I would like to suggest covering the operations of individual local trains for future videos.
an Xacto knife, some stacked pink foam, and an infinite amount of patience...
@@oregonjointlinemodelrailro4125 I see, but what colors did you use? I plan modelling a similar area in HO scale.
Where did you say that you got the custom decals printed for the forest service trucks and A&M? Did you say Circuit City?
haha, I probably did say Circuit City, but I meant to say Circus City... circuscitydecals.com
@@oregonjointlinemodelrailro4125 Ah! You very well could have said Circus City and my ears just heard Circuit!
Nope. So far have $400 saved for layouts though.
Anyone here from AJ's slipknot mask unboxing playlist?
Plz plz plz make a steam train running video like all your other videos!!!
This is a weird mask review…
