@@tufftrucker40 Boyds is a different company from 5 years ago. So don't put too much stock (pun intended) in videos that are five years old; they're very old news. This is now 2023 and the customer service at Boyds has been fixed as far back as 2018, it is way better; as far as the delivery time, Boyds purchased a whole bunch of new CNC machines and hired and trained more expert craftsmen and women, so by the end of 2018 the delivery time was less than 14 days. This is now 2023, and Boyds has improved, and will continue to do so. If you have an issue with your stock, contact customer service and they will certainly help you. Thank you for giving us this opportunity to provide you with a stellar stock product!
Im glad to hear they fixed there issues. That's a great company that admits there short comings and took action to fix it. I will be ordering a stock for my mosin nagant soon. Great video.
I've had nothing but great experiences when dealing with Boyd's. Really happy with the quality of gun stock, pricing, and overall ordering and purchasing experience. I own 2 Boyd's stocks, both used on Remington Model 700 ADL rifles. One in short action, .308, the other long action .270. They are the Prairie Hunter models with mulit point checkering. The forend of the stock is near identical to my Browning X-Bolts, perfectly shaped for a comfortable grip. Both actions fit perfectly with no modifications needed. I will soon be ordering another for one more cheap Remington 700 ADL. It actually ends up being a much better rifle with a Boyd's stock. The factory synthetic stocks offered by Remington are pretty much useless! Far too flexible and just cheap. If you're wanting to improve your rifle stock with a quality wood stock, Boyd's is definitely the answer. The ONLY negative I have to say is about the Boyd's brand recoil pad. It's extremely small, and pretty much useless. If they would make their own pads the size and feel of a Limbsaver, Remington, or Browning recoil pad, they would be perfect! It's difficult to find a higher quality recoil pad that can just be installed on the stock without having to be fitted because the butt on Boyd's stocks are a different size. Overall, great experience and I'm a satisfied customer. I will continue doing business with Boyd's, will continue using their products, and will continue to recommend their stocks.
My experience with Boyds was great. They said 10 to 14 normally but they were finishing an expansion and it could be 20 days or more. I ordered it on November 15 2016 and I got a email telling they had shipped it on the 18th. 3 days is all it took. I paid $22 for 2 day shipping and it arrived at my house this afternoon Nov. 22 2016. That's only 7 days total if I'm counting my fingers correctly. It is a laminated Prairie Hunter for remington 700 in Pepper and it looks to be flawless.
It looks like the cheek rest is pretty short. When you put you cheek on it at 2:58 it doesn't seem like you have much purchase, it looks like your cheek bone is on the end of the rest.

Come on , the "unboxing" thing really tiresome. Like everything else these days, reality is usually a let down and I have found Boyd's not quite up to the hype plus it's the luck of the draw in terms of what the stock will actually look like when you you finally do get it. I prefer to pay extra and buy off eBay (both Boyd's and Mike's) as I know I am getting the pictured stock and will receive it in about a week. I hate to sound like I am pimping Mike's Stocks, but I have bought a few from him off eBay and they have been really nice. He posts hi-res pictures of the actual stock for sale rather than a generic pic like Boyd's. He doesn't offer the variety of Boyd's (models and action styles) but pretty well covers the most popular rifle makes and models in about 3 different styles.
I called them last Friday and left 2 msgs for them to call me as I had questions and have never bought anything from them before. No response. I called them Monday and left yet another message reminding them that I left 2 msgs on Friday. I got a call on Tuesday from a girl who did not sound like someone that possesses customer service skills. Not impressed thus far and haven't decided what company deserves my business and more importantly values their customers. Ya might say I don't have a lot of "stock" in this company, lol.

I'd say they did not pack it very well. Stock should be completely rapped- I think. Nice looking stock though.

It looks like the cheek rest is pretty short. When you put you cheek on it at 2:58 it doesn't seem like you have much purchase, it looks like your cheek bone is on the end of the rest.
Watch part 2 then imagine 3" of eye relief,,, it's fine. I had my shoulder all hunched up . It's hard to do it with no action in the stock.
