This video is super underrated! These are all amazing resources, especially for people breaking through the beginner phase and who want to level up their language learning. I love how versatile LingQ can be as a resource. I look forward to finding more compelling and comprehensible input with these resources. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your positive feedback. I tried to make this video in a way that it stays useful for a long time. That's the nice thing about LingQ! That it can accompany you throughout all the phases of your learning journey, while giving you the freedom to choose the content that is actually relevant for you :). No need to get bored. You're welcome! 🙂
It was not before I reached 60k plus words on lingq I could read and listen German freely. The lib is extensive as hell. Ich kann's auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. Gut gemacht Dustin.
Man I feel you... Same here with French. It takes a huge amount of words to really become comfortable in a language. It takes time, but that's okay! It's just part of the journey. Congrats btw to over 60k words! That's a great achievement! Danke dir! Du kannst stolz auf dich sein! Deutsch ist keine einfache Sprache :).
I am learning Ukrainian, lingQ is very useful for this. I'm importing some songs that I like and translating the lyrics to several languages. It's a great way to work with the language and use it, while at the samr time creating content for others. Paying it forward
Thank you so much for your contribution :-). That’s a great way to practice Ukrainian or any other language. I should definitely also work more with music! Thanks also for the inspiration! 🤗
I'm a new subscriber. I watched your videos. Thank you so much for a great video, guide and tips! I appreciate your effort and time. I want to improve my English skills and to learn Chinese Mandarin. 😉
Thank you very much for your kind comment Nancy and of course for subscribing to the channel :-). I try my best! Whenever you have something specific, that I should make a video about just let me know. Sounds like a great plan! Wow Mandarin is quite a challenge, but I'm sure you will get there! Can't wait to approach my first asian language :).
So for each lesson you can choose if it's private, so only available for you, or public which then means the whole LingQ community can access it. If you have something that is copyright protected or sensible information, it makes sense to make it private, but otherwise you can definitely make the rest public :). The level you can also choose manually. That's a good question… I would try to give it a rough guess. Maybe in future AI can help out with that to classify it automatically, based on the complexity.
Hi Dustin, do you know where I could find books to purchase in German that I can import to Lingq? I've been looking for "Short Stories in German for Intermediate Learners" by Olly Richards but I just find the EPUB with adobe protection. Also, thanks for your content!
Hey Juan :), Hmm so EPUB with adobe protection? Thats not cool :(. There are tools out there to remove the protection like: www.ebook-converter.com/epub-drm-removal.htm So I buy mostly books here www.ecobookstore.de/shop/ There you can also see, when you click on a book, which format it is and which protection or in german "Kopierschutz" it has. For example: Format: epub Kopierschutz: Watermark This should work in theory I think.
The biggest issue I have with classical literature is that it is old-fashioned language even if it was standard at the time the book was published. I want to learn the languages first and foremost in their modern state. Danke für die Tipps. Vielleicht sollte ich mich aber von dem Gedanken, moderne E-Books zu importieren, verabschieden. Ich schaue mal, was ich stattdessen finden kann.
Yes that's definitely true, but it can be a nice challenge :). For modern e-books I normally just import the text and listen to it elsewhere like on audible or so. It's too cumbersome to import and map it to the right text.
@@DustinSchermaul After chatting with the tech guy at LingQ, I learned that it's only available on the app and even if you create the audio file on the app it doesn't transfer over to that same lesson on a computer. So for those I will just use my phone. :)
Lingq.com is the only sight you need for learning a language. The externalities can be added to link. I love it. Thank you so much for all you do for us learners.
Where do you find your language learning content?
I hope this video can provide some value to you :). Thank you very much for watching!

If I import a lesson into lingQ, will the lesson be available to other users? And how do I know if I place it on theright level?

I wondered about the ukrainian flag on there, it's nice to know they're not just all for show and they're doing something.
Jup in that case it's rightfully so. I think up to this day they still follow that policy.

I don't have the headphones at the bottom of the article I imported. Any ideas?
Hey Susan, hmmm is it the mobile view or at a regular browser on your computer?
@@DustinSchermaul It's on a Chromebook.
@@AmoPerrosMás Hmmm I guess you need to open it on a smartphone or tablet :(. At least to first create the audio file.
