Tack with thick hobby grade super glue! That works perfect. Then do the fillets.

With all due respect you put that together in the wrong order.
Sides go onto the base first.then the transom(bavk) then you bend up the sides and wire the bow then the transom to the sides.
You made this look easy because of the scale but a full sized boat would be very difficult your way

Interesting. I have built 5 of these boats, 4 - 14 foot long versions and a 10 foot version and I have done all of them the way shown in the video. Normally I get the bottom laid out on some sawhorses and then lay the sides on top of that, stitch the bow together, place upright on the bottom, stitch the transom on and then stitch the sides to the bottom. We'll be doing one at a public demo at the Wooden Boat Festival in Port Townsend in September, come check it out.

@@FiberglassSupply i would live to.the wooden boat show is legendry-but alas,i am a wage slave and cant make it-also im a kiwi and its in asstralia-you people treat us like shit on the whole-next youll be sending us to manus island.
As for the construction method-ive done plenty of kayaks and a couple of skiff type hulls.
All of them are the way i said.
If you make a larger hull using 1/2" or 12mm ply and above it becomes more important because of the equipment required to bend the material.
On other serious advantage of the method i use is that you can attatch the inwale/gunwales while the panels are still flat and you only have to deal with warping in one plane.
Also the hull panels can be placed on the inverted side pieces and scribed directly from the sides.this also allows you to firmly attatch cross members making the side very rigind and accurate.
Obviously both methods work and i can see advantages to both ways

@@jadekayak01 The boat show I was talking about is the one in the US where we are located.
While we have built that particular skiff that way, I'm not a slave to that method, like you said it depends on size/complexity, etc.
I haven't tried installing the gunwales flat, that sounds interesting, especially if doing spaced inwales.
      Cheers

      @@FiberglassSupply sorry about the location.
Tasmania has a wooden boat show to.
      Ive never done gaped inwales.
Seen them mostly on canadian canoes.
From what ive seen you need to do them on the finished boat to prevent uneven stresses along the gunwales.
      Have a good show.
The majority of the boats ive built have used Chris Kulczycki(dam-i couldnt spell his name and had to do a search)plans or adaptions.
The skin on frame ideas came from Chris Cunningham and Robbert Morris books.
      All American builders.
Such a wealth of knowledge in the americas for boat building.
One of my favorite books -on sailing proa,is written by an american who is now living in coromandel peninsular-just a few miles accros the harbour from auckland(but a couple of hours by car)
