Jazz man, I wondered about that… How they could keep from poking each other in the eye with their horns or accidentally goring one of their wonderful, loving owners. I am so thankful to learn that they are very careful with their horns around other animals and people, and I was surprised to learn that they actually have nerves and a sense of touch throughout their entire horn instead of just at the base. Wow! Such fascinating creatures!

The thing with extreme cult like forms of "leadership", dehumanizing their enemies is always needed to get compliance up. "Parasites" are easier to harm than "Humans with loved ones". This also happens with soldiers in wars or gang members. It creates a psychological wall around what you're doing.
Of course I'm not defending anything. It's just not a very good thing to judge a human by his treatment of (perceived) enemies.

@@SilencedButNotForgotten I've got no idea if this farm is going to slaughter their animals (the phrase 'sanctuary-style farm' implies perhaps not) but animals raised for meat live a tiny fraction of their potential lifespan. It's also worth remembering for anyone else reading this that this is _not_ how the vast majority of cattle are treated, even on organic or free range farms. Agriculture is a business, and cattle are just machinery that moo.

1-Your own health (vegans are less likely to get several deadly chronic diseases)
2-Helping to end animal agriculture would reduce the chance of another pandemic & other zoonotic diseases
3-Helping to end animal ag would reduce the chance of the development of an antibiotic resistant pathogen.
4-Animal ag wastes a huge amount of fresh water. Each vegan saves 219,000 gallons of water every year!
5-Animal ag is a major cause of water pollution
6-Animal ag is a major cause of deforestation
7-Animal ag increases PTSD and spousal abuse in the people who work in slaughterhouses. Workers in meat packing facilities often endure terrible, dangerous working conditions.
8-Animal ag is a major cause of the loss of habitat and biodiversity
9-Needless killing of innocent, sentient beings cannot be ethically justified.
10- It is the single most effective way for each of us to fight climate change and environmental degradation.
11- Longer lifespan.
12- Healthier weight (vegans were the only dietary group in the Adventist Studies that had an average BMI in the recommended range.)
13- A healthy plant based diet significantly reduces the chances of ED later in life, and even 1 meal can improve bedroom performance
14- Vegetarians and vegans have lower rates of dementia later in life
15- A plant based diet could save money! You could reduce your food budget by one third!
16- A vegan world would save 8 million human lives a year, and $1 trillion in health care and related costs (Oxford Study)

I was driving around Scotland looking for somewhere to stay. This guy appeared in a 4x4 and said follow me. Log cabin, very cheap, beside the mouth of Loch Ness. Woke up in the morning and walked out to a bunch of these Highland Cows just milling around! They are magnificent beasties.

I live in a very small town in Ohio, there is a farm next to our school that has a huge herd of highland cattle, they are kinda the mascots of our town, everyone loves them. Sometimes i'll metal detect the farm and the cows will follow me the entire time just looking for pets. They are super sweet animals, not just cows, they're special and i'm glad to see them being treated like family.

One of my great memories of visiting John O'Groats in Scotland was stopping at a pasture to take some pics of a Highland Coo as they called them. It came up to the fence and was just being very photogenic. The owner happened along and said she was very friendly, and if I had any biscuits she loved them. So, being mindful of the horns (just from turning quickly) I fed a box of Walker shortbread biscuits to her, surprisingly soft, and really very friendly. Great day.

My Highland bull was like this, once he came to understand that he was among friends.
Though he was big and powerful, he was so kind and gentle, and the two of us loved to run and play here on my farm :) .
I’m in central Ohio. Looking to hopefully get land and these guys will be my first purchase! I have always been a city girl but the older I get the further away I want to be! One day hopefully my dreams will come true! You are so blessed to have these majestic animals!

Thank You for your story. I was vegan for such a long time. I am coming thru a health adventure where plant and even fish wasnt working to enhance health. I did have to include meats and while i am so grateful and at peace with this--- i know when the timing is correct, i will return to my more plant based choices. There isnt a day in recent 2 almost 3 weeks I super am humbled by animals' presence; their soulfulness, true love for wanting to connect and complete our lives. Animals are gorgeous but the universe created itself to eat itself, do I like it no I just live in it. Why do people fool themself into believing that plants have no feelings just because they don't have a nervous system like ours doesn't mean they know everything about plants and you probably haven't heard of the experiments where they used a very special microphone to listen in on plants, when put to the experiments where one person is given orders to go in and hurt or cut the plant the plant cries but if that person carries orders to go water or treats the plant well the plant doesn't cry out in agony.
Absolute joy, Thank you, I live in bonnie Scotland and one snowey icy day a Highland cow came over to the fence and put its nose onto me I took off a glove its nose was so cold so I took off my other glove and put both hands on its nose and there we stood as its nose warmed. It was so very precious and I felt so privileged yes it only ended when my friends walked back to find me and I had to go. I thanked the coo and indeed I did pat him/her and kissed his/her nose. Friends were astonished in stunned silence. "Heelin Coos" (Highland cows") as we call them in Scotland are amazing and full of character and personality. I got to know cattle when I lived and worked in Kansas. I worked for a cooperative extension service and in 4-H. What a wonderful program. Teaches such good life skills. Wholesome too. And I feel like you can never have too much of that. Cows are neat animals. But you’d never know that unless you were around them. Kinda sad but that’s the way it is. I enjoyed my time there and learning all I did. I’m fifty eight now. I had that job for five/six years when I was twenty two until the age of twenty eight. I tell everyone I know when we talk about past jobs and things that that was the best job I ever had. Got to work with all farm animals and it was a blast. Best learning of my life. Only quit because my husband was military and he got stationed elsewhere. Sad to leave too. Anyway, enjoyed your video! Have fun with those cows for the rest of us who can no longer!!

i have loved cows since i was a little girl on my familys old dairy farm. i miss the cows and farm life.
🇧🇷 In Brazil, we have many bovine breeds, but nothing like these amazing cows. Of course, they were created to live in and face cold weather. What is quite peculiar is the fact they are small animals and they have such an expressive eyes.🇧🇷
