"I just can't beat Airman"
Bass: *"Oh, please..."*
You can juggle Flash Man? This is amazing.
Do you get an alternate ending for beating the game as bass?
In the original game, Flash Man jumps everytime you hit him. The developers didn't take hitting Flash Man in midair into consideration, so he jumps when he's hit even in midair, as many times as he's hit. This would also mean that you can juggle Flash Man with Metal Blades in the original game.
I guess the developers of this fan game decided to keep Flash Man's unlimited jumps.
Edit: Just forgot one s, that's it.

Ikr for me it’s better than original and the smash ultimate one
Bass: With the Treble Boost, we don't need any floating platforms!
*HEY BASS WHY MUST I FIGHT YOU WERE NOT ENEMIES*
Just a heads up, the current version won't work with the rewind update that came out yesterday. I have a fix mostly ready, I just need to set aside the time to set up the new release. I'll see if I can get it ready now.

@@DADA-yt1pt -Shoots a laser at Megaman-
Quick man's remixed theme is nice as hell! Especially that slow melancholy part.
Honestly this looks really fun, Mega Man was only limited to his buster at the start of this game. Bass meanwhile, gets his dash and the ability to shoot in all directions, as well as the Treble Boost.
He can also destroy Sniper Joe’s shield.
@@mynameismmandimheretosay7979 Oh my. Bass easily puts down Sniper Joe's shield!
I think having the bass buster deal 2 damage to Flash Man, Quick Man, and Air Man is probably a bit OP because of how rapid-fire it is.
i think the air man thing is fine, since he's liable to deflect all your shots with his air shooter
Bass is over powered
Better to wipe out Wily and Megaman!😈😈😈😈

Megaman 2; Bass DLC.
What if Megaman and Bass was added to the Megaman Legacy Collection along with a DLC that allows You to play through Megaman 7,Megaman and Bass, and 8 as protoman?
That would be super awesome!
Holy shit, it's rushjet1's theme
Jeezus Flash Man never stood a chance 🤣😂🤣😂
Love the hack but hopefully include Protoman and Duo
finally someone who remembers duo
Damn that soundtrack is sooo epic
rushjet1 took care of the soundtrack, he actually does a lot of good megaman remixes
the name of this video can be: if bass was a playable character in mega man 2.
Mega Man : Good luck, Bass!
RushJet1's VRC6 is here!
Even as someone who finds Mega Man 2 to be overrated beyond belief, I still think this mod is awesome. Hopefully, Mega Man 1, 3-6, and 9 will get the same treatment.
I would change 1 thing. Bass's abilities. I think he should start off identical to Mega Man, but instead of getting weapons from the Robot Masters, he gets new abilities instead.
Quick Man: Rapid Fire
Flash Man: 8 Bullets on Screen
Metal Man: Shot Aim
Crash Man: Double Jump
Heat Man: Dash
Wood Man: ?
Air Man: ?
Bubble Man: ? (Probably keep the Bubble Lead, due to Wily's Castle and Alien)
Reminds Zero from MMX4-6,who gets new abilities instead of copying weapons
@@prime_emperor_waron Exactly. Both are made by Wily
Woodman : Spike Protect 1x
Wood man is da stone ability u become sum stone till u stap press both a and b
And air man would give you air dash
I love this music
It's from RushJet1's Mega Man 2 album. He's done Mega Man 1-4 as well: rushjet1.com/
@@Gannio I use to listen to his remixes for hours he did a great job and I hope does the later megaman titles too
When the hacks and remixed soundtracks are better than the original .... Awesome!
It’s funny how as bass, you could just keep flashman in the top corner of the roof
I really wonder why Capcom doesn't add new features including characters to their rereleases. Back in the 90s whenever Capcom put out a arcade to console port, or even a later port of an older console game, they tried making it unique by adding new content. Now it just seems like they're content with slapping together roms. Its really unfortunate.
hey gannio can you make 1.0.4 cuz bass original abbility is double jump but there is no double jump
it's mega man 2
and bass
The only long intro I'm fine with
i would love to see bass in the wily wars but i don't think that's possible
Technically speaking, anything is possible with Lua *if* the implementation is strong enough, but so far FCEUX is the only emulator with enough lua implementation to make something of this calibur possible. Bizhawk would be the best candidate for genesis stuff (though still lacking in comparison), but even then the script couldn't be a basic port of this one, since all 4 games use a seperate engine not related to MM2's original.
@@Gannio couldn't a whole rewrite in assembly work too?
*& Knuckles*
Hey friend. I was wondering if you plan to do more of these for any of the other games. I understand that may be a huge undertaking and I'm not sure if it's technically possible but Bass is new favorite character after giving him a try in MM10. Rock is cool but you play that way for over two decades and you start wanting a little extra lol.
Chiefly, I feel like Bass is a glaring ommission from Mega Man 9 but I again I have no idea what goes into a mod like this.
Is it possible to put Bass like this into the original Mega Man 2, or does the Legacy Collection versions have their own codebase different from the NES originals?
Technically this could run with a regular Mega Man 2 ROM, but the current version doesn't support it. I've been meaning to get around to supporting both self-loading the rom and the normal Legacy Collection routine, but I keep having other projects come up, and fixing it to work with both would take some time to figure out with how long it's been since I touched the code (outside of minor value edits for Legacy Collection's updates).
@@Gannio It would be amazing if this was converted into a rom hack, maybe including Proto Man which in the reddit post you had plans for even, but I wouldn't put it past you if you choose not to work more on adding new things.
Small nitpick but I think the title screen should remove the & Bass portion of the title along with Bass appearing in that screen, personally without those it would feel like an improved version of the original rather than just a rom hack/mod.
Good damn work here man.

3:59 that drummer sounds like hes having a seizure
Deu tela cinza na rom, o que eu faço?
Iz dis even a real 🎮 but wit an update or a nes ting?
It's a real mod. At current it requires the Legacy Collection to run (see this video for instructions if you happen to own it: ruclips.net/video/gAbtFMQWOFM/видео.html), however I'm currently looking into the possibility of having it run with a standalone ROM as well.
IDIOT ITS CALLED ROM HACKING
@@Gannio Getting it to run on a standalone ROM would be a godsend, but lua stuff is outside my expertise so I have no idea what that would entail.
In terms of functionality I think a standalone ROM hack could be doable, the problem I see comes in Bass's sprite itself, as you'd have to optimize space for the larger sprite frame in the same size of sprite table, which would either require a complete redesign of the table layout, or making space where things aren't frequently used lie and quick-swapping them when needed. For the Lua script though it's possible to just draw a predefined image over the original sprite, then making the sprite table in that area invisible.
@@Gannio Makes sense. Bass uses more colors than there _should_ be on a NES sprite right?
You'd have to layer more sprites than there should be just to make the colors work, and that would cause bad flickering unless you made the gray on Bass' armor just black or something.
(Then you got ROM hacks like Mega Man 4 Voyage that removes the black outline but puts Bass against a black background to give an illusion.)
Lua scripts seem to make that headache go away for the most part.
Is there a way to install this without the music?
It can run without the music, just delete the Music Expansion tool (or don't run it) and turn off exp. Sound and exp. Music in the settings.
I AM PLAAS BASTER YT
Meh, I don't really like the remixed music in the background, you kinda can't really tell, whose theme it is.
It's optional in the application itself, so you can always go back to the NES music if you prefer that.
3:33 wtf

So, what's the point of Item-1-3 is Bass has Treble for the flight pack?
At the time I didn't have the means to disable the item-get screens, so they would just appear regardless. Nowadays I do, but I haven't put out a new version yet with it included.
