Great video mate :) love hearing the rumours during closed season, hope at least some of them are true haha. I'm itching to get back on park! Even though like you say it's got its rough patches, I thought the big one was running really well towards the end of last season, I went at the end of october and it was absolutely flying towards the end of the day
Thank you I appreciate you! Glad you enjoyed the video 😁 best part of closed season hearing all the rumours and speculation! Yes me too. I'll be there opening day back on the big one Icon and Vahlalla, Your right there if you get the big one on the end of a late night riding day she flys round the track so much better than normal!
The roadworks could be related to the new luxury apartments that Pleasure Beach are opening (from the Boulevard right down to where Horror Crypt is, next to the underpass) - either way, I'm sure we'll be seeing an update on those soon as they are confirmed by Amanda Thompson and the plans are on the Blackpool Council planning website
You could well be right there sir there was an awful lot of roadworks for it to be regular maintenance 🤔 yes I'll keep an eye on this and if there is any news ill do an update as this could be really interesting. Thanks for your comment really appreciate it!
Pie on the sky but hopefully one-day they will consider a more drastic revamp of the Big One. Its iconic but its always felt the aesthetic has come before ride experience - made to fit the long promenade stretch without thought of just how much speed is killed by the first hill. Either a lowered first airtime hill or some form of mid-course launch boosters to maybe an improved finale. At present it's a thrill seeker first drop attached to a family coaster which feels a mismatch. Either that or a full Hyperion style replacement in its place in it's honour (of course the same red and blue colours! Wouldn't be Blackpool without that).
Thank you for your comment I do think it will come one day just all comes down to budget as it's going to be in the tens of millions to do a big one revamp or replacment in my opinion. You're right about the ride experience haha has always been an amazing drop attached to a monorail 😂 but it is iconic for sure, maybe one day!
@@DiveLoopCoastersyeh it would definitely be way too costly - it's easy to forget it's the 2nd longest (non-alpine) coaster in Europe so a hell of a lot of steelwork to remove and replace. More likely to see Blackpool squeezing in more smaller new coasters like Gröna Lund, but seeing they made a loss last year even that seems unlikely at the mo. Hopefully they can find a ways to drive up attendance again as the town needs the park.
Yes you make a good point there is a lot of steel there and the cost of everything has gone through the roof so it can't be easy for the park. I hope they have a great season too and they can reinvest into the park. I didn't know it was the end longest in Europe thanks for that 😀
Thankyou Chris! Great to have you here, I will keep you informed as and when I hear anything rest assured! 😃 I love a good rumour but confirmation is better!
@DiveLoopCoasters they're not repainted boats, if you look at them they're in a very poor state & have been sitting there pretty much since the caves closed
Has anybody ever told you that you have a look of Alex Turner? Good video, hoping to see some new additions to the park next year, desperately needs it.
Haha no first time but I'll take that he looks like a cool guy 😎 Thank you glad you enjoyed it! Yes I think 2026 is the year for investment. At least I hope so! 🤞come on 600ft B&M Hyper 😂
Really? That's interesting is i think it will drive growth to the parks in the UK as visitors from other country's will go to Universal and may decide to travel to other parks. But maybe your right and it will be too far and it will see a decline i really hope not
Interesting. The Big One is looking a bit unloved in some areas so a retrack is welcomed. It’s such an iconic and classic coaster and I can’t imagine Blackpool without it.
I’ve heard a lot of the same rumours as you a lot of what you said is pretty much spot on but things change every day. I’ve heard about the Vekoma family coaster idea and they were supposedly working with Intamin at one point and S&S but who knows anymore
Thank you for that. I'm glad it isn't just me 😂 yes the park does seem to have a lot of ambition but change their mind constantly. I think it just comes down to budget most of the time causing the ideas to change what do you think?
oh it’s definitely a budget thing especially with rising costs of wages and electricity and gas bills etc I’d imagine they have to constantly restructure the business to make sure it’s secure.
The abandoned shops on the prom are owned by BPB and they are trying to get planning permission to convert into self catering apartments. Plans are on Blackpool Council Planning Portal.
The Grand National only looks so bad because they're not painting new wood when they replace it, so it can eventually just be a normal plain wood coaster rather than white. The promenade buildings are owned by the Pleasure Beach, they did want to make them into rented holiday accommodation The Big One has been retracked many many times, Taziker has only been a more recent thing. They retrack it because of metal fatigue, not for roughness
Ow ok that makes more sense then just hope they can do something about the shopping trolley ride experience! Thank you for that i appreciate the info 😊 yes must need alot of replacements, been practically in the sea most of the year
@@DiveLoopCoastersnow here I something to consider (rumours will explode here). Vekoma back in the day used arrow track and even at times arrow trains. Now if Big One needs work and Vekoma have all the exact track specs could that be why they're on site. Big One needs a lot of work and Vekoma would be the best place manufacturer to do that
It could well be sir they could be there purely to inspect Infusion I honestly don't know but if I hear anything concrete I'll be sure to let you all know. I love a good rumour and I am hopeful that Vekoma are there for a new coaster in the Grand Prix area for 2026. I do think the S&S retracking talks have merit as S&S basically purchased the remains of Arrow Dynamics i think they would be a great candidate for the retrack work
@@DiveLoopCoasters the coaster to replace Grand Prix would already be designed and in the build phase if its to open for 2026 so more likely than not its infusion. But good to think there an off chance for big one

A rumour i have been hearing for you is - Amanda was not happy as one of the pieces had to be refit and the project ended up costing way over the £5 million budget so she is looking at alternate options.
we were there in October and have to say I thought the park looked amazing... went on the Big One and never again.. its just terrible... so rough and uncomfortable.
It would be an easy sell for them that's for sure, i think if money was no object I want an Intamin or RMC single rail coaster but at this point I think most of us would take anything 😂
I hope it gets retracked. The ride is actually my least favourite coaster as it crushed my lap and hurt my elbow, especially in the valleys. I just hope they retrack every single valley and the turnaround, then hopefully if it's smoother it'll not be my least favourite coaster
Ow god sounds awful! its defiantly better than it was but still not great is it, I am sure it will get the work done at some point just hoping it will be sooner rather than later. Haha well i hope it becomes your favorite coaster after a re-track!
@@DiveLoopCoasters Haha yea! It defo won't be close to my fav coaster tho cause nothing's beating Voltron and Hyperia but it could be in my top 20 maybe

I can't argue with you there Infusion is deffently a head banger for sure 😂 I think it all comes down to budget with Gov making employers pay more tax for employees and wage increases mixed with cost of living, energy bills been insane and cost of parts skyrocketing. I think people have less money to spend and the park must have had a massive income cut due to this I can't imagine it's an easy time for Amanda just really hope they have a great season and get some funding for there plans. @@DiveLoopCoasters I,m a big fan of Magic mountains Viper,I would have loved that,I mean Big one after the first dip it does,nt do anything, just gentle ramps,
I believe if they retrack the big one COMPLETELY, they’ll reangle the lift hill to make it 237 feet tall, therefore making it the tallest in the UK 😂
Haha I love that! Bring back the tallest coaster battles from the early 2000 😂 UK edition
Don’t think the will make it over 20ft higher tbh think it will be left
They would have to reangle the drop as well as the hight also...
I wish they just tore it out for a new hyper coaster by intamin or B&M because that would actually be a good ride
Requires an extra 23ft to take the record back
