That was an excellent trip and you did it real justice, I would recommend it to anyone. I should have said on the old coastguard storage building was grade 2 listed, but engineers found it unsafe in 2020 . It was used to store the lifeboat in Victorian times and they did launch, but found it unsafe and everything went to Teignmouth and Exmouth. Eleven cottages are built above and are on the opposite side of the track, plus the officers lookout station, which you can still see today. All the real information and probably worth a read is in the Dawlish museum lol Thanks for a great trip mate, I loved it and scooby doo , Shaggy, Thelma and Fred didn’t come along 🤣
Lovely boat trip Bill. Keep up the good work. My Husband and I Follow you every day. Have a lovely bank holiday weekend with best wishes to you and your mum 😎🐝🌻
Yes mate - Really been brought back to life recently, with the cafe and the 'Thatched Inn' for food and drinks - I plan to walk down there at some point semi soon 👍
Hi Bill, What a fabulous trip. Nice of Andy to tell us about the boathouse. It's a shame that it had to be demolished. You couldn't have picked a better day for it. It's only when you see Teignmouth from the sea that you appreciate how much bigger it is going up beyond Exeter Road. Cheers mate see you tomorrow. 👍👍👍
0:55 oh Bill you'll be done for spreading misinformation 😂 😂. A perfect day for your 'voyage' and what wonderful footage, you did a marvellous job with the filming. Andy did a splendid job with his little commentary and well done him for spotting that fish hook 👍. Thank you so much for sharing this with us Bill - and I've now run out of superlatives to describe the video 😂 so I'll say ttfn 😘.
Yes, a lot of that was guess work, but I expect muscle memory played a part as well. My old phone used to give me a warning when it got too hot - Which I could ignore. This one is more proactive, and darkens the screen when it is too hot to cool itself down - Meaning I'm looking a blank screen when I film - Almost like the phone is turned off! 👍
On our very first date with my wife to be in 1988 we went on a boat trip from Dawlish to Brixham. Must do this trip with her and our son who is now 31 years old. Nice video today Bill 👍
that was a cool ferry ride lovely weather for it nice you saw a tamper with a few trains but tamper was something cool. station looks great and the ice cream shop so got the sea breeze ice cream and the station lol
Hello Bill wow different but fabulous video thank you . I don't think I need to ask did you enjoy your trip your voice says it all . I'm so pleased you had such a lovely day for it . Thank you Andy for your explanations Dawlish Station looking much better too . Enjoy your afternoon Bill see you tomorrow stay safe ❤😊xx
Hi Bill, my wife and I have been enjoying your videos for a few months now. We will soon be moving to your area after several years of living abroad. Whenever we watch your videos, we feel sure we have made the right decision and picked the best place to live! :-)
I don't think you will regret choosing Teignmouth - Its just right - Big enough but not too big, and anything it cant provide can be had just down the road 👍👍👍 Glad you are enjoying my vids 👍👍👍
Thanks Bill great video. With all your local insights you have opened our eyes to the simpler delights of seaside towns. We will definitely be spending a week or two in Teignmouth/Shaldon next time us downunder convicts get pardoned to travel back across the seas 😅
Hi Bill Excellent video Reall enjoyed it Dawlish was looking good , I will try and do that Boat trip next year when i come down Thanks for a Brilliant Channel
Really nice video Bill, quite a different view. I notice near the end when the Voyager was passing that the Barrow Crossing has been removed. Big mistake! Should have left it in for when the lifts break down, and believe me, they will. Then passengers with heavy luggage or disabilities will be unable to cross the line. Just glad your boat wasn't named Titanic 😂😂😂
You are correct - Andy was saying about that as well - Especially with both the gates on the far side being permanently closed, theres no way across at certain times now...
Yes... When I was at art college millions of years ago, I spent two weeks going from Exmouth to Starcross on work experience making Chess sets in a small factory. The daily boat trips on the ferry was a bonus . God bless you on your adventures.
Imagine we are up near the salty dog, looking at the parsons tunnel, and the parson and the Clark... Well its just up at the top of the main part of the cliff - But slightly further over onto the Dawlish side - So you cant actually see it at all from Teignmouth - But it is visible from the Dawlish side 👍👍👍
That was an excellent trip and you did it real justice, I would recommend it to anyone.

Yes... When I was at art college millions of years ago, I spent two weeks going from Exmouth to Starcross on work experience making Chess sets in a small factory. The daily boat trips on the ferry was a bonus . God bless you on your adventures.
Really enjoyed this video. Was wondering whereabouts is that turret? Never knew about it! Thanks🙂

Enjoyed the trip along the coast. Have you thought of visiting the secret beach in Bishopsteignton.....?
I have actually thought about it - By that 'wrecked boat' you mean? Truth be told, I'm not 100% sure how to get to it!!! 👍👍👍
I looked on Google Earth trying to find the bridge that goes over the railway line and found it.The start is possibly opposite Cockhaven Road.
Cheers - 'Flow Ln' looks like it would take me down there...
Nice sail Bill, try doing the Starcross ferry to Exmouth.....
That actually IS the Starcross to Exmouth ferry - Being repurposed for the Dawlish trips! 👍
@@BillsPhoneTeignmouth That boat is and has been family owned for over 100 years....
Lovely video Bill, how much is it on the train to Dawlish now ? Be there in a couple of weeks cheers 👏👋
