Every time I hear this classic piece that was composed by Bedrich Smetana [1824 - 1884] of Bohemia, I always remember my mother introducing me to it for the first time way back in 1961. She bought back in the mid 1950's an album that contained "The Moldau". It was by the NBC Symphony Orchestra and conducted by the great Arturo Toscanini [1867 - 1957]. The NBC Symphony Orchestra started in 1937 and disbanded in 1963. Toscanini did most of those years with the NBC people. Leopold Stokowski [ 1882 - 1977] did the rest of the years. "The Moldau" was one of Mom's all-time favorites in the classics. We saw it performed live by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra conducted by Izler Solomon [1910 - 1987].

波蘭這個音樂學校交響樂團真的很出色，推出過不少極度精彩的演出。以這些生嫩的年紀，配上這些陽春的樂器，能營造出這樣豐富的、充滿音樂性的層次感，這個指揮簡直是神了。對比一些老牌子的頂尖交響樂團，那些個似精的老油條，這些年輕人真棒！
