The clarinetist AND pianist are WORLD CLASS this piece is so incredibly hard to get just right and she (pianist) nailed it. Probably my favorite version of Rhapsody in Blue I’ve heard on RUclips (including all the world class world famous orchestras on here. Everyone!). Very very very well done! BRAVO.
I know Gershwin’s music better than I know any other composer’s music. He would have LOVED what she did in the middle with that cadenza! He loved it when Oscar Levant interpreted him, and he would love what Maja did. This is my favorite piece of my life, since I first heard it 61 years ago. I am now 66, and I’m smiling because Gershwin would have loved this performance beginning with that incredible clarinet. George Whiteman would have hired her on the spot to play it for the premiere in Aeolian Hall in 1924. I love Poland and its people, having been there four times in five years, and I would go back just to hear this orchestra and Maja play anything!
I played the clarinet and I was pretty good. This clarinet player is absolutely spectacular. In her own way, probably as good as the pianist. Hard to believe that she and the orchestra did not get a standing ovation.
Rhapsody in Blue is America, the industry, the growth, the power, the ups and downs, the magic of the promised land. Wonderful, and superbly rendered here.

I don't think she's looking unusually at the bassoonist. She's just watching closely. Why not? She really doesn't have much of a view of anyone else. And I agree - her playing is superb.
This really is the best rendition, to my mind, of this piece. Kudos to the clarinetist, pianist and director...flawless attention by the entire orchestra.

Maja is playing with the bluesy and jazzy elements of this piece like a seasoned cabaret performer. Wow! Hers is one of the most soulful interpretations of this music I have ever heard.
Wow. So good. Clarinet? Out of hand! Wow! And our pianist? I'm in awe. Simply transporting. I am so grateful that this performance happened and was recorded for us.

I came across this video for the first time several years ago, and ever since then I keep coming back to watch it again and again. Such a beautiful song and moving performance.

The clarinetist nailed her part. But the pianist was spectacular. Her interpretation was unique. And the section from 10:57 I don't remember ever hearing before, certainly not the way she played it. Bravo!
I have heard many versions of Rhapsody in Blue. However this rendition is the best I have ever heard. From the opening of the clarinet which was electrifying to the passion and zeal of the young lady at the piano who absolutely set this music on fire. The female attire is also a plus.
A fantastic & wonderful performance! Not only would the original composer of this tremendous piece of music be proud, but the country of Poland should be immensely proud also of their youth orchestra. Special mention to both the young ladies playing the Piano & Clarinet. They both gave it everything they had, and then gave yet more. Both have exceptional talent in their own right & fully deserve the plaudits.
By far one of the finest performances of Rhapsody in blue. Amazing young Maja takes control of piano and orchestra like no other. A prayer in music. Congrats to each and everyone for this performance !!!
WOW! ALL of these young ladies and young gentlemen deserve a very long standing applause. They all did a great job. Of course, we have to focus on Maja at the piano. What a talented young lady she is. If the bios I've read on her are correct, 15 years old at the time of this recording, and has only been playing since she was seven. Eight years is not a long time to come to that level of proficiency. She is amazing, and I'm rather jealous of her. But, you know she's worked hard to get where she is, and for that, I'm proud of her. I wish all of these musicians and long, illustrious and profitable career in music.
After hearing the clarinet start, all RiB versions it’ll seems so simple to me... Bravo Klaudia Gurzyńska and thanks for these goosebumps 🙌🏼 Greetings to everyone from Mexico 🇲🇽
What amazingly gifted and dedicated young people! They all deserve to be recognized for the great talent they have. Kudos to their teachers too. Wonderful.
I saw a live performance of this song once for a high school honor's band and they had the school's piano professor play the piano part and I thought it was amazing watching them do the full thing without any music, and now here's a kid doing the same thing with no music. Very impressive.
This has to be one of the most avant-guard performances of Rhapsody in Blue. Such feeling, with a truly 'different', slower than usual, interpretation. Loved the addition of a jazz cadenza. I willexpect great things from this girl. She looks great too!
Such a thrill witnessing such a flawless performance! That this was performed from what was written on paper! Having heard this piece many times over the years, this video seems the best rendition. The pianist at just 15 years of age plays as if she wrote it herself! The orchestra members like the clarinet, percussionists and violinists were so endearing. If I were to encounter any other of the members on the street I'd feel privileged, specially after around 18 minutes into the video, they all played like soloists improvising! Thanks for the video, it was like a blessing!
Maybe not flawless, but I still agree completely. From about 11 minutes into it, and for maybe one minute afterward, it's her - she improvised it. She wrote that! This young lady is multi talented - and she sings like a bird!
Tak!
❤❤❤
15 years old pianist? I can't believe! Her zeal, her precision, her playfulness, her sense of the jazz... Fantastic!

What a phenomenal rendition by all, so happy to have been privileged to have heard this
By far one of the finest performances of Rhapsody in blue. Amazing young Maja takes control of piano and orchestra like no other. A prayer in music. Congrats to each and everyone for this performance !!!
A quintessentially American piece executed spectacularly by European youth! Bravo!!!!
I went back to organ from guitar 8 years ago. Heck, I was just getting up to speed.
After hearing the clarinet start, all RiB versions it’ll seems so simple to me... Bravo Klaudia Gurzyńska and thanks for these goosebumps 🙌🏼
Greetings to everyone from Mexico 🇲🇽
Zawsze miałem slabość do muzyki Gershwina, ale te wykonanie jest genialne. Im częściej to oglądam, to coraz bardziej mi się podoba.
God Damn! This is the best version I have ever heard in 64 years!
Beautiful, absolutely perfect in every respect. Maja Babyszka was an Angel accompanied by a group of Angels. Led by a master.
What amazingly gifted and dedicated young people! They all deserve to be recognized for the great talent they have. Kudos to their teachers too. Wonderful.
This is by far the best version of this i have ever heard!
What a amazing clarinetist .
Straordinaria esecuzione con una bravissima Maja Babyszka .Un grande applauso a tutti .
