I wish I had a teacher like you when I was in university studying Jazz. I had a teacher do this to one of my solos in class. I was pretty new at solos and not the best at it. It was embarrassing and to be honest it really turned me off Jazz. If I had a teacher who would have taken the solo and made it a teaching opportunity like you did here things might have ended up differently. Thanks for doing what you do
Not to take anything away from the well done instructive video, but IMO calling the G7 a "VI" chord dumbs down some points of dominant theory that help to explain the flow. just my 2 cents. I wish Jazz players had to learn classical theory first.
Hey bud nicely done just got done going through the whole book you just sent me very interesting. in the early days growing up in rock and roll bands played mostly bass guitar or rhythm guitar. I'm retired now have a studio set up in my bedroom mac computer guitar pro 8 and reaper daw. I no guitar music fairly well. . I never really was a lead guitar player but I'm working on it. I'been learning jazz standards through i realpro a lot for rhythm guitar exporting that into my reaper and practicing a loop at a time. I just started doing that its a journey. thank you for this vid I already went through that first book and looking forward to the next one

I’m with you, man.
Seems right up my alley. Been looking for something for beginners with easily recognizable tones. ✌🤙👍👍
Great teacher always
Thank you! 😃
Good info on rhythm and syncopation, but not much mention on the choice of chord tones used and why ? I’m a floundering amateur
Thank you Brent🌹⭐🌹
My pleasure!

Do you have a video where you consider the possibility of building a melody in improvisation, based on the development of one motive?
Hi, please check out this video. This is one that is along those lines ruclips.net/video/ggHsYpFbCr0/видео.html
I really like your guitar. It's expensive, but it sounds like it too, so good buy I think. I can't buy it I live in Europe
