I just received my UF1 and have to say that I'm blown away by the build quality and apparent quality of the software suite. It's a bit complicated, but practice will make perfect. I'm stoked about getting more familiar and intimate with this great piece of kit and look forward to improving my workflow. This tutorial is absolutely superb. Thank you, SSL.
@@raffaelesantabarbara1449 So far, so good, though I haven't fully explored all of its capabilities. But, the limited functions I've used so far have performed flawlessly, and it just feels right in touch and ergonomics. So, I am still as thrilled with it as when I unboxed it. Ask me again in six months and I'll give you an update!
In logic, for the uf1 to work as a mackie controller, don't forget to go to: Settings - Control surfaces - midi controllers tab - and tick the mackie designs ------- mackie control option!!! :)
I wonder if SSL will make a small full feature format style DAW controller with 16 faders, EQ, Dynamics and Aux to match their 360 software. It would be a nice (single) package to get a feel of a console without it being so modular with repetitive keys/functions. I'd buy one!
I have the UF1. And now I wish that I never 👎🏾 have purchased it. Every time that I close out of Logic Pro. When I open Logic Pro again I can not use the “Jog Wheel”. I then have to go and install (See 6:19) over and everytime I start Logic Pro. Does anyone else have this issue on their MacBook 💻?
hmm...i am NOT seeing all of the v-midi inputs at the stage @6:40. And my unit, although recognized in 360, is not working in Logic Pro. What am I missing? EDIT:": Well, I uninstalled everything, INCLUDING 360 and the device within LOGIC, then I reinstalled 360, then I restarted the Mac, THEN I readded the "mackie control" device back into logic. The second time, all the V-ports showed up and I could follow along and everything works smoothly and properly. Just wanted to make sure others didn't suffer the same frustration and waste a lot of time. I had had this happen with multiple controllers, most recently my Native Instruments S61 mkII...so this isn't a problem just inherent to SSL, it appears to be a Logic/Apple issue.
I love my SSL UF1, using it with Logic Pro. One thing, however, is that when I ride the fader in automation, after about a minute or so, it will freeze and will not move ! If I stop the song and start again, all is fine or another minute or so. Why is that ? Any one have this problem ? I have tried everything, using it on different songs and the same problem.
I currently have the UC1 with the UF8 and the UF1. I can't seem to figure out how I can get the Channelstrip EQ on my UF1 display? I followed this tutorial a few times but maybe I'm missing something?
Same issue. Frustrating. Thank goodness for ChatGPT. Simply hold down the 360 degree Layer button and select the button above the main screen which says Plug-in Mixer.
Trying to add UF8 after my UF1 But now logic installing me that I can't add another input Port: SSL V-MIDI Port 1 Source because there is already a compatible device with the same ID -- Please help
SSL have got to include their two main channel strips and bus compressor with this if they want to grab the market which is there for the taking. I have an SSL 12, I love the 360 software and I think this UF1 is incredible but when you add the price of the two channel strips and the bus compressor it just becomes a non choice. SSL... include those 3 plugins or at least offer a heavy discount and at £600 the UF1 becomes a game changer! 🤔
Sounds great… love having to have an ilok account and having to download a shitload of software that i don’t want just to make the thing work is superb… if only they could make the whole setup process more convoluted and inconvenient because the last thing i want is something that can just plug in and it works… big pass for me😢

Mine’s arriving today (hopefully) with the UC1 as well.
Can’t wait.
How are you liking it so far?

Just got mine today. Beautifully built, designed and well thought out. Very capable but also easy to get a handle on quite quickly.
You guys have the absolute best instruction videos ever!
Oh I will be buying this for my Uf8 and UC1! Good job SSL

Can you use it with logic pro for iPad?
how many SSL V midi ports do I need to enable if I own a UC1 and 2 UF8s?
hi., can i use the uf1 as audio recorder, and record some track from DAW to the uf1? And then export

@@relicthominin9864 Hi, I had figured this out not long after posting this comment but Im sure it will be useful to some viewers here, thanks!
And SOUNDSCAPE EDITOR 7.2?
Does it work with Logic Pro for iPad?
does it work with Reaper?
I want it!!

You don't need to add another device, UF8 and UF1 work off the same SSL V-MIDI port

They include it with the UC1

I realized when I've updated SSL 360 and the Plugins that each Channel Strip requires much more CPU. Has anyone else experienced that?
Just been fixed in a bug fix plug-in release

Rather lengthy and complicated setup process
