For me Moerat is a very good player, think he will make the worldcup in 2027, most of the current Springboks are 'n bit old, my view, and his better than Ruan from the bulls
Sorry, Moerat is not fit at all, please recheck all the games he played in URC, etc. Currently at least 5 other locks better than him. He could not lead the Stormers😂

@@johnlamb3101Oh here we go again. He was injured but now he is coming back and he has to be played, remember PSDT in 2022 when he came back form injury..He played kak, but he was on form again. You have to play these guys into form. And he has been captain in every team he has played in...Paarl Boys, Boland, Springboks u20, Stormers, etc. Keep in mind, this is also a 2nd team so it is fine. Rassie knows what he is doing.
People, including me, weren’t convinced by Siya when he first started but now most people, including me, sing his praises. For me, Salman looks a bit tentative when he is on the field as if he is afraid to make a mistake. However, maybe he, like Siya, will prove me wrong.
Rassie must move away from trying to create another Siya Kolisi story.
We have enough quality players that are deserving.
Never make your best player captain. It's a whole coaching panel that helps pick too, as we saw in WC.
Moerat can handle a reff like back of his hand, he's the proverbial cool guy. At u20 he was bok cap, been at stormers 5+ seasons and he's been cap. He seems to handle pressure really well, always looks calm on field which rubs off on others. He is maybe not as fast as Eben and his defence can improve a little where dominant tackles are concerned but his technical skills are sound af.
There's a reason Stormers chose him when he hasnt been injured, but he needs to get used to bok systems which differs from Stormers, especially defence. I would rather have a calm technical sound captain who can command respect from a reff, then a speedy gonzales with sh1t handling who only plays for himself tbh, not referring to eben btw.

His decision-making was questionable when Stormers got knocked out of the URC by Glasgow. Altough Manie's goal kicking didn't help the situation.
Ja very interesting, im keen to see how they go. No lack of attacking capability, lets see how organised they are on defense and how well they work within the systems together. Im excited for the game, i think we'll run up a big score but let Portugal slip over the try line a few times

Rassie is nie een vir gatkruip hy is outspoken. Hy is ook nie die enigste een wat die span kies, hy het hele coaching box wat saam kies soos gesien in WC met Nienaber. Not even mentioning the bok selectors who work in the shadows... Trust the process. We have 2 WCs.

So a player who doesn't even deserve to be in the squad is picked as captain? Everything about this selection is screaming tokenism.
He been cap in bok '20 lvl its not just about running as fast as eben, its being technical on field too and handling the reff which Moerat seems very good at. Its being calm under pressure and portraying that to the whole team. His carry's will improve with time.
