Ed, just wanted to say thank you for doing this vid. I just bought one these second hand and something to tool around with while I'm traveling since it's so small and this vid was PERFECT for quickly familiarizing myself with the features and uses! Thanks for taking the time! GREAT JOB!
I bought one used for cheap and I think that is one damn good mf unit. Sounds are very real and not digitalized soo much. Distortions are really good, reverb and delays also. Wah is cool too. for 80 euros cannot be beat
I just purchased one of these on Reverb at a great price. I had to try it. I know this video is old, but I wanted something easy to use that I could turn off the preamp and still use the effects in case I decide to go digital. Otherwise, I'll still use it direct in small gigs and to record with. I guess you can use a plug to plug into the Headphones out and it uses a cab sim then on the guitar out jacks to record or play live with which is cool.. I just would use the headphone outs I think though.. Thanks man.. From South Central Indiana. USA Tim
Thanks so much for the video! Was banging my head on the wall trying to figure it out. Also, not sure if you are aware but if you are playing direct into a PA, plug a dummy headphone plug into the jack and it automatically puts the unit into speaker emulation. My little tip.
just noticed when your OD/DS activated, loud feedback kicks in,you can eliminate that feedback by pressing NS(noise suppressor) button all the way up high..very nice video indeed..
You got it man!I got this ME70.after ME20,and for my Playing and Wishes it wors and sounds pretty well. Thanks for you Video,it helps beginners to go into this.Very good, best regards Manne
Vishwam, you can dial in the sound you want on both pedal boards. By selecting the effect you want, Ocative or Detuner, to get a low deep sound and of course a rectifier type amp then add dely and reverb. It comes down to a choice of which pedal you like better and need, each one has its advantages and disadvantages. If its One sound your looking for and dont need to have several patches for a live show, maybe the Me70 will work best. again use the one tha gives you the best sound/ useability Ed
Speaking of U2, can't wait to see them in May in Santa Clara CA in Levi's Stadium (where the 49ers play).Should be an amazing show! I watched your video, while trying to do the same stuff on my ME-70 and it's still confusing as hell! I need a tutor! LOL
Wow, great tutorial! I just picked up a used one yesterday wit no manual and was wondering how to get to the 72 presets. I have a Zoom G5 but it's not battery operated and I like to use mine outside of my office/studio at times so that's why I chose this. Thanks for the video Edward.
They could be dirty with dust etc. you’d have to take it apart and clean with electronic cleaner.. that would be hard! You can try when pedal is off turning knobs back and forth several times, than can sometimes dislodge dust and dirt temporarily…thanks! Edit
When you program your presets under a user bank, is there a way to use more than one effect at a time? If so how can you program it that way? When I tap on another pedal the other one turns off.
When you program a preset, all the current settings are stored. If you want the same settings but with one pedal off that's another preset. You have to make your variations into separate presets. I set mine with u1 clean amps with various effects on banks 1-4, dirty u2 with effects banks 1-4, distorted u3, etc Usually I run it in live mode for playing around.
on stage : the boss ms6 or 2xfs5u combined together, it's lot more easy to use : u just push on the FS6 or FS5U footswith to call the User or Prest u want and then push foot switch 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 of the me70 to call the patch wiyhin the bank u 've been chosen.
EMERGENCY SIR. My BOSSME70 numbering skips. but just the types. the volumes and gains etc works fine. but the types are skipping effects. once i twist to effect number 2, it displays 6 in the digitalscreen. i dont know what to do.
I have the exact pedal, and it says U2 on the screen, but I can't get back to how it originally was, when press in any of the 4 pedals, they dont turn on/off when I clicked them... Can you help at all? Would really appreciate it!!
Two questions here, first of all, why do the patches sound different in manual mode vs. memory mode, and how can you switch patches in memory mode and take them back to manual mode? I just find when I have effects in memory mode that they sound sort of tinny and weak.
Manual mode is a mode that you set up the stomp boxes and effects how you like them, Memory mode are presets that were set up at the Boss factory, I'm sure you can tweek the memory mode to add more "'beef" to them so they don't sound so tinny..look at video around 3 minutes and 7:50 and it explains that you can save settings in "User mode' User Mode is where you save a patch you designed, I'm pretty sure you can save a memory patch there also.. Hope that helped
Hi man! Do you have any idea if I could make a preset adding more than one effect from each "stompbox" ? e.g. have TREMOLO + CHORUS + HARMONIST + ANALOG DELAY , on one patch. I have this pedal and I don't know how to do it.
@@eddie30969Thanks! ...but I think you didn't get what I am saying.. What I want to set is a patch with TWO Modulations at the same patch. e.g. TREMOLO + CHORUS enchained togheter. Note that those 2 efects are modulations, and came from the SAME stompbox module.
Only One modulation, Comp, OD/DS and Delay to same patch. So 4 efects But not two modulations, two comps, etc.. If someone disagrees, I also want to know how to add More than One modulation to the same patch
+Eduardo Vazquez the book said: "user bank, you can change it. Preset bank, it's impossible". There is a list in the same book with all the "preset bank + patch" from P1-1 to P9-4. They say "72 patchs" because (9UB + 9PB) x4 patch for each of them, but only the half of it can be recorded by the user (but 36 is enough for 2 hours of show, right?)
Edward, have you ever had your ME70 randomly change settings? Mine just started doing it. I researched online, and though others describe the same issue I am having, none offer a verifiable solution; just things like clean pots, make sure no buttons are stuck. Nothing fixed it, though. Thanks
Yes there is. You just have to press the two middle pedals at the same time and then tune your guitar through the little screen. The tuner is chromatic.
Hey I wanted to ask this to you since I saw that you have used both the Zoom G5 and the Boss ME-70. Which one would you suggest for playing heavy metal riffs and solos, with harmonizer kicked in, in some of the lead parts. Nominal Delay and Reverb settings. Thanks in advance :-)
Have you ever had some kind of problem with it? I have one as well but I've had this problem in which it skips from memory mode to manual mode. Would you happen to know anything about this? Thanks :)
Can you add two different effects from Modulation to the same patch on a bank. Say for example I want phaser and octive on the U1 under pedal (patch) 1.
pendita baik I know I'm late but, I have a question. Were you talking about the looper on the board or off the board. I have a boss looper already, if I buy this would the looper be able to function with the ME-70?
hey thanks so much for the lesson. its a really big help to the rest of the world who are not as invasive in the menu diving. i had another question " for example i want to use two effects from the modulation patch. how can i go about "layering two fx from the same patch?" im trying to use harmonist and vibrato that are withing the same patch number 3-modulation." and of course saving this layered sound is implied thanks for the video its a really big help.

Thank you very much! Finally a video after an hour of searching how to set up my pre-sets that explains how to do it.
Outstanding dude! Your tutorial is wayy better than most professionally produced tutorials. Great job! Thanks! 👍🏻
I bought one used for cheap and I think that is one damn good mf unit. Sounds are very real and not digitalized soo much. Distortions are really good, reverb and delays also. Wah is cool too. for 80 euros cannot be beat
Thanks. Both video were great. The external foot switch is a life saver. This is about the most intuitive pedal out there. Very easy to work.

I’ve had my ME-70 since they were released, this vid has finally made it click on how to use it other than just a stomp box. Thank you!
Great explanation on banks and patches

is there a way to copy a tone to another spot?
Pretty illustrative, thank you.
Thanks, we need more instructional videos.
Very useful video. Thanks so much❤
12:22 "whatever you have saved P1" P1-P9 are presets and you can't save to those banks. Desbite that very nice tutorial 👍
Great demo awesome job of explaining
Great video- This guy sounds like Daniel Fisher from Sweetwater (who I dig-he does awesome reviews). Seriously-nice job!

Thank you so much for this video - very helpful
thanks buddy good demo, buying tomorrow
These sound great plugged right into the guitar input unlike the GT series and Ive gotten brutal sound out of it.
Great demo! Even I can understand it! Thanks.

+72Z15SS Thanks for teh nice comment!!!! :)
+Edward Owen I did download the manual but this was so much faster!
I can only see 36,how it gets to 72?
9 users 4 preset each one?
36 preset patches and 36 user patches
Thanx! Any soluitions for when the knobs go crazy switching numbers?
They could be dirty with dust etc. you’d have to take it apart and clean with electronic cleaner.. that would be hard!

Great tutorial 👍👍👍👍
Great video!
Nice video bro
Thanks for idea
I had this multi effects pedal. I loved it. Great presets. And tones. Sold it. Regretted it.
Great video! I'm thinking of getting this effector and this was very useful.

Whats the difference between the Boss me 70 and the boss me 80 ? Thanks!
Great looking unit....
I cant figure out how to use the wah
Nice job. Thanks!
Hmmmmm......I didn't think Boss could top the ME-50, but now I changed my mind.
EMERGENCY SIR. My BOSSME70 numbering skips. but just the types. the volumes and gains etc works fine. but the types are skipping effects. once i twist to effect number 2, it displays 6 in the digitalscreen. i dont know what to do.

Can you change U2 to U1 by pushing buttons under the screen where U2 is shown?
That really helped me to understand the pedal,
ready to destroy!

nice review but does it work fine with amp distortion when plugged in loop?
Thank you! It helped.

Yeah set it how you want then save in the p section..save it in the place where you can save personal settings..

What is the difference between USER BANK and PRESET BANK? Both have the same function? Is the same if i save my sound in a User than in a Prest bank?

i do have the same problem
Does It do the same with batteries and with dc power supply?
Thanks for comment
Thanks Ed. is there a tuner on this?
Yes there is. You just have to press the two middle pedals at the same time and then tune your guitar through the little screen. The tuner is chromatic.

My brother has one, cool as hell but he got a great deal on his. How much do they normally sell for?
90-170eur
Have you ever had some kind of problem with it? I have one as well but I've had this problem in which it skips from memory mode to manual mode. Would you happen to know anything about this? Thanks :)
camo Sb not really..I use the ME 80 now so I cant test it anymore sorry...If its new take it back to get another one. Ed
Can you add two different effects from Modulation to the same patch on a bank. Say for example I want phaser and octive on the U1 under pedal (patch) 1.
No you can't
@@ARI_RUOTSALAINEN thanks
Are you able to combine chorus and Flanger on the same user bank?
Nope.
Hey! I got a question,is it possible to loop over a loop?
Thanks a lot!
Tavlas yes
I think you can loop at least 5 times over a loop. Havent tried yet, But I saw a tutorial where guy looped 5 loops in a row
"you can overdub as much as you want on a 38 second original loop"
already got the pedalboard, yea indeed u can indeed overdub as much as you want on a 38 sec loop
Thanks, man
how to on pedal fx while editing any banks..??
Could you Be More specific, It would be easier to answer.
thank you!
thanks you, it helps
Glad you liked it...make sure you like the video on the page...thanks Ed
Yes there is a tuner. I've just bought one of these faulty for £35. Fixed it for £9. Bargain. I can't believe how much it can do.
thanks .....very useful ;)
my problem is looper...looper cant funtion in bank mode....
pendita baik I know I'm late but, I have a question. Were you talking about the looper on the board or off the board. I have a boss looper already, if I buy this would the looper be able to function with the ME-70?
I want one....
yes
I need to like it Can you send one thniks

Not possible. You can only choose One modulation, One Comb, One OD/DS and One Delay at the same time.
