Perhaps on Holy Wednesday…we, as the Unshaken student body…should go to the Temple…and offer our own hearts and hands…our prayers of faith to Our Holy Father in Heaven..in the name of His Holy Son. I can think of no better way to take His name upon us. Thank you Jared for this faith filled lesson😇❤️. David
I have an appointment for the Temple on Tuesday. Wednesday would have been wonderful, but we live at least 3 hours from a temple and my husband has off Tuesday. If you can’t go on Wednesday just go when you can. I love your idea ❤
Happy Easter and Holy Week to you my dear brother, my teacher, and friend. How grateful I am for your loving kindness, service, and spirit that you bring to each and every lesson. I enjoy our time together as you help me grow ever closer to my Savior. My Jesus. My best friend. ❤️
Dear Dear Brother Jared, my heart is so full and so greatful for the sacrifice of time you give in sharing your gift teaching us the gospel thru the holy scriptures. I pray for you and your sweet wife and family who also share your time with us. Thank you
The "Awful Arithmetic of the Atonement" is also truly one of the most amazing talks I have ever heard, and was moved to tears repeatedly throughout. Truly inspired.
Thank you so much! I can feel the truthfulness of what you are sharing. Thank you, thank you for taking the time to prepare such wonderful, spiritual lessons. ❤️❤️❤️
My apperication for all your efforts these past few years cannot be summed up in the sipple words of "Thank You". I always feel the Holy Ghost tell me that your teachings are true. I've never had Holly Week explained from start to finish like you just explained. Your thoughts and words have opened my eyes in how all the things Jesus did and taught, apply to my meager daily efforts.Your sacrifice of time has blessed my soul, taught me truth, expanded my spiritual vision and given me the opportunity to feel the Holy Ghost during the time I spend with you. Thank you to you and your family for all the time you spend teaching. My soul is always uplifted and blessed!
I love this lesson because it is exactly how we should be coupling scriptural principles! The Doctrine of Christ is our roadmap to eternal life and the means by which He wants us to come unto Him. Every principle the Savior asks us to live falls neatly into the Doctrine of Christ.
You’re the real deal Brother Halverson! Thank you so much for helping my relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father grow, weekly. I am so grateful that you listened to the Holy Spirit and put your time and heart into helping us dive deeper into the Holy Week and Jesus Christs’ life, death, and resurrection! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for you effort always and Happy Happy Holy Week and Easter week!
Thank you for teaching me what it means to make Easter more meaningful. I feel that I can begin to do a better job to honor my Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you.
Wednesday was silent night but all day. This is where there was silence in heaven on our part with joyful but sorrowful anticipation for half an hour. We were all banking on this moment! We were closer then ever to the force that had the power to lift us all up!! The thought as I pondered your message of the doctrine of Christ was immersion. Everything to me hinges on this. God truly wants to cover us fully, bury us in his grace, mercy and love. The spirit whispered that the third principle must be spread onto the other principles. That is the only way to come to the fullness is if we learn to fully immerse ourselves in Faith and repentance. He is worthy! He is worthy of all my time, all my attention and all my love!!! This life of immersion in him is the only thing we can do because he is so immersed in us!! Jared you are making an astounding impact to the world! Your words are raising the stakes of Zion to the mountains of the Lord. Praise the Lord God Almighty for there is no other name under heaven whereby salvation can be obtained!! Praise to the Lamb!! This is where we sing Handel's Messiah!
I love this video so much. I am truly excited every time a new one comes out. I struggle to read the scriptures everyday and having found your videos helps so much. I love your spirit and lived to hear your testimony. Thank you so much! Have a wonderful holy week and Easter! ❤
Thank you Jared for defining so perfectly what it is that I have been being prompted to do to honor Easter more fully. I felt your tender spirit and appreciate your willingness to share. Sincerely, Brenda
30yrs ago I was asked to speak in Sacrament meeting on Easter. I like to use poems in my talks, but couldn't find one that expressed what was in my heart. I asked Father to help me write a poem. This is the poem He helped me write. I like to share it each Easter. A Witness in Gethsemane (or Angels in the Garden) The olive trees were troubled there, the wind shuddered as if in pain Rocks and hills groaned with distress, and the sky withheld it's rain. The olive and the nearby shrub shed cushioning for His knees. As night approached the animals fled to lend the garden peace. We waited as the air grew thick with Power from on High. The sorrow and the suffering grew, and we heard an aching sigh. Then You appeared, in solemn thought, Your eyes held pain and tears. Knowing what this night would bring we tried to chase away the fears. We sang as we had never sung before, of strength and love, Of Heaven and of Glory, and of Father waiting up above. With deep respect we knelt with Thee, and surrounded Thee with Light. With all our love we cried for Thee, and kept Thee through the night. As dawn approached, the Spirit held and healed Thee from within. We raised Thy face and wiped the blood and tears from off Thy fevered skin. My gratitude for Thy teachings, life, and service to all mankind. That night in agony has pierced my heart and opened up my mind. In vain Thy suffering shall not be! If I'll but live my life for Thee! Father and Laurel Cay 1994
I am so grateful for another inspired Easter lesson! I've rewatched your past Easter lessons this month and was thrilled to see you went ahead and made one for this year. I now look at Easter week with new eyes. Thank you for everything you teach and share here. It's truly a beautiful gift from our Savior.
Brother Halverson, I want to let you know my gratitude for all you have done. A lesson that I have been taught recently from you is that as I went back to start listening to Jacob 5, from when you started these videos, and how much it has changed, or in better way to put it how much we all have grown from the beginning of the pandemic to now, it proved to me on how much the Lord will bless us as we put out faith in him. From the very beginning to now I love the growth that I see from your videos to now and how it has made you what you are now a wonderful teacher, not that you went. This solidified, my believe that through trials and challenges, the Lord will make us better than where we were as you continually teach that I want to personally thank you for everything that you have done, Thank you for all you do made the Lord bless you and your family. Brother Bergesen
Happy, joyous and grateful Easter to you and yours! You are simply a gifted, inspired and powerful teacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I want desperately to be like you as I share the Gospel . Your inspiration and Spirit of the Lord reaches to our hearts despite time and miles separating us. Only the true Holy Spirit transcends time and space and still teaches others so powerfully as you do. Thank you dear teacher. What a treasure to us you are. ❤
Thank you Brother Halverson for another amazing lesson. Happy Easter to you and your family. I really appreciate the dedication to helping us understand the gospel on a deeper level. I can't begin to understand the atonement but I feel his great love for all of us daily.
Thank you so much for this message and taking the extra time to enlighten us!!! In reference to arithmetic, the Lord has truly blessed us in your desire to honor him, through your dedication we are blessed. Thank you.
In the midst of the week following the triumphal entry was Passover, the 14th day of Nisan, the day our Savior's blood was spilled in place of our own and we who believe have been passed over for Him. Ever wonder why it is that any honor of His sacrifice (holy week) is annually observed so far away from Passover (April 22 for 2024)? Jesus is our Passover Lamb.
I'm confused because you mentioned General Conference a couple times as though it had just occurred. I thought General Conference is coming in a few weeks.
I believe so as well, because he also said we wouldn’t be studying 2 Nephi until “next year”, when clearly we are studying it right now. He also said he recorded it on Tuesday after Palm Sunday, which means he either recorded it 1 week in the future or 51 weeks in the past.
My husband and I were at our Temple Tuesday to assist in the cleaning this week. It was a very spiritual experience!!! I so love the Temple and all that it brings into my life and heart! 💜
So grateful for the Spirit's witness to my soul of the great love and mercy that Father and Christ have for us. Thankful to know Christ lives. I am left speechless as I contemplate the depth of their love and how far below He had to go to rescue a proud and rebellious soul, such as mine. Thank you for sharing this message of love, the world's greatest love story with us again.❤
Thank you for not “shrinking”. You delivered this message that I will take to my family and loved ones and we will feast upon it and it will become part of us, engrained in us. What a blessing!
Thank you for sharing this and for blessing my life of this knowledge. Happy Holy Week and Happy Easter! My prayer is that God will bless you and your family for your dedication to "The Unshaken"
Happy Easter to you and your family. One day, after I have passed from this mortal life, I want to say thank you in person, and maybe ever sit in on a lesson you share then. I have learned to understand and love the Savior more through your teachings and testimony.
It strikes me that when the accusers lower their sights on The Brethren and charge that we preach "another gospel", our response ought to be what Brother Halverson has taught here: We ought to recite first The Gospel and Doctrine of Jesus Christ as given in 2nd and 3rd Nephi. And second the verses from The New Testament that support each point of 2nd and 3rd Nephi immediatly after.
Brother Halverson, thank you for this beautiful and profound lesson on Holy Week, Atonement and Easter. Thank you for your faith, testimony and love for our Savior and friend. I am very sure your greatest desires and wishes will come to pass regarding your relationship with the Lord. Your love for Him is apparent, as are your efforts to gather Israel through this wonderful means as you share with us the incredible understanding you have gained by study, sacrifice, and gift of God, of our Savior and His gospel. What you share with us is precious, as are you. God bless you and your family this Easter!
Thank you for your lessons! Long time listener here and I am grateful for your endurance and clarity and scholarship. I wont be able to articulate as well as you could but I had a thought that came to me. , Friday Jesus showed us what enduring might look like- could be hard things! and then Saturday is us practicing that. I liked what you said about us going to the temple on Saturday and participating in works of salvation also. I just want to add for those disciples of Jesus time, they weren’t sure about Sunday yet. They had to endure through Saturday on their faith and repentance, holding to their covenants being comforted by the Holy Ghost and endure that day until Sunday could come. Yes, we have work to do on “Saturday” but part of that work is living the 4 steps until He comes again, and that will be a tough, long Saturday. And it can be a sorrowful day for some who aren’t sure about Sunday. We need to learn how to sit with those friends and family in their uncertainty and sorrow and doubt while we live the doctrine. Sunday will come, but we have to endure through Saturday. I hope that makes sense.
19:04 Brother Halverson, thank you for all you do! Your lessons have helped me so much over the last few years! If I may it’s my opinion that those Christ is trying to have come unto him and look up are those meek and lowly in hear, those who are downtrodden, or depressed. Often times those who have these qualities are walking this earth with their heads hung low in meekness and humility. I enjoy your thoughts here about having to physically look up to Christ as some might miss what’s going on around them if they are in this condition. Their eyes, neck, head need to be physically lifted up to see, along with their hearts and minds to hear. Our eyes need to be focused on Christ so that our bodies can follow Him, learn from Him, and become more like Him. It’s amazing how a simple change of focus can change our whole lives.
Thank you for all the good you do and wonderful information. How can I reach out to you? My husband left the church about 15/ 20 years ago. He has so many questions I can't answer them. Help!!!!
I've found "The Come Back" podcast to be helpful in my struggles and heartache. ❤️🩹 Sending prayers to you, my friend. 🙏 This is a healing community to be in while you search for answers and hope. Please keep coming. ❤
Brother Halverson, thank you for another inspiring message, especially during this Easter week, and as we look forward to hearing from our prophet at General conference. I loved your testimony, and I join with you in acknowledging all good things come from our savior. Amen and amen!
Happy Easter to you and your family. Brother Halverson, I so appreciate how you share your wonderful spiritual gift with all of us in your podcast. It helps me strive to be closer to our dear Lord and Savior so much. Thank you, Jane
Who can point me to where Bro Halverson talked of Rodney Stark and the church destined to remain a minority? I know I heard it in the last 2 or 3 weeks, but I can't find it-aaahhhh! I thought it was maybe in the 2 Nephi 20-25 (part 1) episode, but I haven't had time to scrub through anything to search. If you can reply here with which video and the time stamp where he talks about the church not expected to ever be a majority religion, I will be ever so grateful!! (we need an Unshaken Comprehensive Index, huh??)
The only way for Jesus to have spent 3 days and 3 nights in the grave is for the crucifixion to have occurred on Wednesday. The way you explain it He shortchanged his death hours by 50%. I don't think his own prophecy would be contradicted by his own timeline.
Dear Brother, you just said what the Elders told some guests in my parents house, at an almuerzo on Easter day, when they asked them so "Cuando celebran ustedes la Semana Santa?" Their answer was "Cada día de cada semana" Everybody was quiet, no volaba ni una mosca, and we were so proud of them. I love this church, His Church. He is the center of my life and I'm grateful to Him for sending his missionaries to teach us the true Gospel
For some reason, I prefer the white shirts and tie lols just saying. So i just thought of something that will keep this Easter Sunday in my life active. I am to make a chart and remember each day, apply it in my life every day. I need to be better every day.
Thank you for making this video. Chirist Holy message strikes the core of my heart and soul 💙 Partaking of the sacrament this Sunday will certainly have more meaning than ever before 😇
I believe this was actually recorded at least two years ago, sometime before the New Testament year of Come Follow Me! I think he posted it before because I'm pretty sure I've listened to this one before...
I dont mind if its long at all I enjoy It. im a fedex driver and listen to it while I deliver packages all day
Thank you for delivering our packages filled with the Spirit in your heart! ✨️
(In fact... funny enough, I'm heading to FedEx to mail a care package to my son today!) 😊
@@curtiste3235 I deliver in bakersfield california and no problem😁

If you can’t go on Wednesday just go when you can.
I love your idea ❤
I would love to take that opportunity!
We scheduled Saturday, when we have time off from work.
I am going to the temple this week on Wednesday and Friday. Would like to go every day but I have work and temple is 2 hours away

A Witness in Gethsemane (or Angels in the Garden)
The olive trees were troubled there,
the wind shuddered as if in pain
Rocks and hills groaned with
distress,
and the sky withheld it's rain.
The olive and the nearby shrub
shed cushioning for His knees.
As night approached the animals
fled
to lend the garden peace.
We waited as the air grew thick
with Power from on High.
The sorrow and the suffering grew,
and we heard an aching sigh.
Then You appeared, in solemn
thought,
Your eyes held pain and tears.
Knowing what this night would
bring
we tried to chase away the
fears.
We sang as we had never sung
before,
of strength and love,
Of Heaven and of Glory, and of
Father waiting up above.
With deep respect we knelt with
Thee,
and surrounded Thee with
Light.
With all our love we cried for Thee,
and kept Thee through the
night.
As dawn approached, the Spirit
held and
healed Thee from within.
We raised Thy face and wiped the
blood
and tears from off Thy fevered
skin.
My gratitude for Thy teachings, life,
and service to all mankind.
That night in agony has pierced my
heart and opened up my mind.
In vain Thy suffering
shall not be!
If I'll but live my life for
Thee!

@laurelcay7914What a beautiful poem! I was touched by it and connected to it somehow. Thank you so much for sharing!❤
That is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Have a Happy Easter.
I am
Not a poet, but I had similar thoughts, what a wonderful expression of the event and our part in it!
I love this! This should prove to be an inspiration for more people to share poetry in YT comments!
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing this!
“…Probably not going to be a one hour lesson” 😂 You were right, it’s 1 minute short of that!
Thank you for sharing another feast with us! Our reliance on the merits of Christ can be our daily joy.
His first sentence focuses on the Father, even in this giving all glory to the Father.

Would love to see this in Book form! Maybe in a small pamphlet type book like Kerry Muhlstein’s Easter Connection book he published this year!!
Amém!❤
I’m going to share this episode with people! My kids have listened to the first half already.
Thank you for the time and preparation and Spirit that you put into your amazing lessons. ❤ I am very grateful.
Does anyone remember what episode mentioned the Book of Mormon Marathon perchance?
5 or 6 episodes ago? Maybe more?
I'm not sure, but I remember him talking about it.
Good Luck. 🪻
Why don't you think He was in the garden Wednesday? The Passover may have been on Friday.
Thank you so much for your sacrifice!!❤❤❤
Who can point me to where Bro Halverson talked of Rodney Stark and the church destined to remain a minority? I know I heard it in the last 2 or 3 weeks, but I can't find it-aaahhhh! I thought it was maybe in the 2 Nephi 20-25 (part 1) episode, but I haven't had time to scrub through anything to search. If you can reply here with which video and the time stamp where he talks about the church not expected to ever be a majority religion, I will be ever so grateful!! (we need an Unshaken Comprehensive Index, huh??)
😬 I'm so sorry!
Wish I could help you. 😢
If Jesus lay in the tomb for 3 days, He was not crucified on Friday. More like Wednesday afternoon. Then arose Sunday morning.
There is no holy day in the Bible named after a foreign god. Nor her pagan practices.
I like to refer to it as Resurrection Sunday.
For some reason, I prefer the white shirts and tie lols just saying.
So i just thought of something that will keep this Easter Sunday in my life active. I am to make a chart and remember each day, apply it in my life every day. I need to be better every day.
Thank so much❤
Thank you for making this video. Chirist Holy message strikes the core of my heart and soul 💙
Partaking of the sacrament this Sunday will certainly have more meaning than ever before 😇
Your intro is way to long / intros are generally not used anymore. Love your teaching - thank you.
But why?
I’m did you release this early? It’s not even April yet
Must have been recorded April 4, 2023.
I believe this was actually recorded at least two years ago, sometime before the New Testament year of Come Follow Me! I think he posted it before because I'm pretty sure I've listened to this one before...
