My small gaming group helped playtest this expansion. It was "okay" when we first started the project, but by the end of the project, we were all very much looking forward to seeing this on shelves. FFG did a great job of receiving feedback from all the playtesting groups and making tons of changes, big and small, to make the expansion as great as it could be.
10/10 expansion. The 2nd AI is a game-changer. Fingers crossed FFG makes another expansion! I'd love a combat/dog-fighting expansion. I'd also love some generic/original characters so it's easier to role play as a nobody in a universe full of familiar faces.
Need to get this, it's been sold out in Canada. It sounds like it adds more, and fixes some things I had issues with (end game trigger, getting to the other side of the board, and bounty hunting).
Desperately needed 'more stuff' expansion. Market cards, encounter cards, new ships, new characters, new tougher contacts, and the ambition and debt token mechanisms are icing on the cake. This is permanently added into my copy and I'll never play without it.
I am biased towards solo modes and I can say that the A.I. decks for solo are extremely well done! Personally, I love this game as a whole solo but I wouldn’t play it without this expansion ever.
I love the base game, and while I didn’t get to play with the expansion, the group that played my copy after I taught it at a game day loved it! We didn’t use the new modules (minus the one that lets you go through the core worlds to travel), as I was too fatigued that day to figure those out and teach them… but I look forward to playing with them! Fantastic game for Star Wars nerds! May the 4th be with you!
I liked the base game for the first four plays or so, but I did find the repetition of encounter cards eventually start to make the experience feel a little stale. Just for more cards, I went and picked this up and even without the other content, it brought the game back to life for me.
Even for me as someone playing it solely at 2 players, the added content is a must for replayability. So even at 2 it's worth it if you already like the game.
Great review, Zee. To your point about never needing to remove the expansion's content, it really does feel like this is stuff that should've been released with the base box; finally, Chewbacca as a playable character! Nevertheless, it's well-worth the purchase🎲
This was a great expansion! It made me buy the base game again. I had played through the original content a lot, and I didn't think unfinished business was ever going to come out. I do hope for one more "more stuff" expansion for more characters, ships, gear, more of everything.
Outer Rim was already a fantastically thematic game and the expansion only added to that. The game now feels complete in a way it didn't quite before. If I'm in a star wars mood and don't want to play Rebellion, this is a very good option. It is Star Wars in a box. You can also play solo with both of the Automa opponents, which is a really unique solo experience.
With Zee on this that you should really just get this expansion straight away and just add it all in. I look at this as an expansion/update. It sorted aspects of the game in a big way
I gave up on the original game. Too bad the expansion perhaps fixes things that I did not like in the base game. For the time commitment the game felt very repetitive after a number of plays. We all started to know what the cards said because we had seen them, or someone else had. Also the way a single dice roll can kill this game, more than once to me, also made me sour. I love Star Wars. One of my favorite games is Rebellion. I wanted to love this. I may try it someday with someone that has the expansion, but for now this has left my collection and I have moved on.

Resolve every encounter with a game of X-Wing

I still want a mini-expansion with the Mandalorian in it! Make it happen!

Great review, surprised its just now being reviewed? Glad you got to it! It's so nice I bought it twice ...
This tipped me over the edge to get the expansion. Thanks, Zee!

Thanks for this review.. I got mine from second hand this week. Mostly to play solo !
You’re going to love it! The two A.I. decks that you can play against are great!

My #1 board game with #1 expansion ❤

I like the expansion a lot! Really enhances the game.
Good call, Zee!
The game rips along solo, so making it longer with better game flow sounds amazing.
When the heck is this getting back in stock in Canada?!?!?
weird that there are so many reviews for this expansion this week considering it's been out for a while now

The more Star Wars games the better
I have just picked this up and am waiting for the playmat! (I have a thing about them you know....)
@@adamwhite4858 I got the one from Poland.
I bought the playmat for this one too. Completely unnecessary, but nice. lol :-)
When did Zee play the base game? Recall him saying in a few lists he hadn't got to it yet

Hate that Dash isn't playable. him being a hired gun is kinda dumb cuz they have his ship now
I'd like to hear Sam's review.
This game was garbage without the ambitions. Now its pretty fun.
Bad review. The ambitions aspect of the game absolutely adds tremendous value to the game.
