I love this ending to ds2, it is by far the most hopeful one. You reject the cycle and go off in search of finding something to stop it (at least in my eyes). In a way you do find it with the crowns in the dlc, but that isn't truly fixing the problem AND it only works for a single person. My head canon is that your character in ds2 is the reason why the events of darksouls 3 take place, and why you as the Ashen One must rise and complete the task at hand.

Mine too (wasn't my first, I started the series with DeS and DS1). Best soundtrack and overall atmosphere in the series, best selection of armors and weapons, best multiplayer experience and covenants (and all of those actually worked for once), most satisfying character progression (cheap levels combined with high softcaps and multiple attributes worthy of investment; also NO reason to stay at any fixed level), cleverly crafted dangerous situations with traps and enemy setups (I prefer the vanilla to SOTFS), and, while this is very subjective, the most profound reflection on the hollowing aspect (also told through game mechanics like the damned Soul Memory matchmaking). I need to start playing best souls 2 again
Yo the skeleton lord one was amazing. Never knew that
For me darksouls 2 will always have a special place as before on ds 1 i only played for the gameplay. Ds2 was the first game where i read every object and every weapon listenned to every dialog to try to understand the lore . Which i did for all game since then. So yeah praise ds2 !!
Дарк сулс 2 лучшая в серии!
But Ray, how to make something great even more greater?
If anyone is wondering where to get the weapon, I think its in the ivory king dlc
