My husband died from Covid in 2021 and I left my job of 30 years last August. Mary, there are days when your channel lifts me up and I have to frequently discipline myself with a limit of your videos per day!!! I’m from South Carolina and we will probably never meet in this lifetime but I wish you could know how you have helped me. Someday, I shall stop by the porch on your heavenly mansion and visit. On that day, you will know.

People amaze me by some of their comments. You add things to your house or take things away that you like or don't like. You have a memory of or don't have a memory of. Things that are nostalgia to you or not nostalgia. Why the comments do they think they're you're gonna say, "Oh, you're so right. It's not my style. Let me take it away." You do what you like to do, and that's it, just as everybody else. I love your channel. I love the things that you do. I may not love all of them, but that's my opinion. I'm not gonna comment and let you know that I like something or don't like something. Why would I that's just my personal opinion. I love your channel, and I watch every video. You inspire me to think outside the box, and I love that.❤❤

The hydrangeas are beautiful ! My advice is don't trim them any more! Your are probably the kind that bloom on old wood and when you cut them back you are shocking them and they take a few years to come back. Just trim off the old blooms when they get brown and dried up . If you need to cut them back then don't expect them to bloom for a year or two .

My grandma had those chain-link gates and I like them too! I think decorating a home is all about things that mean something to you; kind of making your home a museum of you and your family by telling your story. I prefer some contrasts, differences to everything being matchy-matchy. As for hydrangeas...different hydrangeas should be pruned at different times. Those that bloom on old wood should be trimmed right after they flower. Those blooming on new wood should be pruned in late winter or early spring. Love hearing the nature sounds in the background of your videos!

A friend is dealing with Lyme, so we occasionally discuss this. 2 things that stuck in my mind are that some study indicated that Lyme is caused by a parasite and a way to 'remove those parasites' is via a foot-bath with hydrogen peroxide, which somehow pulls these out through the bottom of one's feet. If memory serves, one should soak for at least 20 minutes, but if you're considering this, it would be very wise to research that. Be well!

Mary, the hydrangeas look like mophead; therefore, you do not prune these in late winter/ early spring because you will cut all the buds off. If you have to prune, then you prune right after they flower in the summer.

We have Hydrangeas of various colors and types and we're learning about pruning (how much, when and how often). Our Limelight and our one blue Hydrangea both bloom on 'old wood". My hubby pruned the Blue Hydrangea last year; it filled back nicely with leaves with no blooms. This year the bush is overflowing with blooms! This Spring we pruned our Limelight bush. Although it grew back every bit of what we pruned, but no bloom buds so far. Maybe this is another one that blooms on "old wood". A week ago, I spotted bloom buds but still no flowers. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The city squirrels where I live chewed the wires of my husband's truck and we had to have it towed and the wires replaced which cost $2000. He ended up buying a new truck which cost $50,000 and now we are building a new garage which is costing $25,000 so a $77,000 squirrel in total haha. I'm half joking, he needed a new truck, his was 15 years old but he wasn't happy spending $2000 on one he knew he was getting rid of.

Now I am 63(on July 4😁🇺🇲), but I've have extremely severe autoimmune conditions for decades. Life altering. Does anyone know if ticks could have contributed to this? My doctors never have addressed it...btw, the ticks were almost always on my head. I have/had super thick hair and a rash would have been impossible to see... Rocky Mt spotted fever was never a term I heard either until I was an adult... so tired of the mysterious ailments and doctors say "sometimes we just don't know...")

In my last home (before current one) my favorite thing that drew me to the home was the entire east side of the house was planted in hydrangeas-the big mophead kind with the huge leaves. The blooms were mostly blue but some years, almost purple-they were so beautiful. I left the home and the husband and the girlfriend cut all of them down except two of the bushes. Not sure why I am telling you all this, but it broke my heart and they weren't even mine to being with. The home was built in 1940 and that original owner and her daughter planted them some time in the 1960's-they were stunning and just made the east side of the house. I do remember they need lots of water to bloom-lots meaning every few days depending upon the temperature.

My nephew contracted Lyme disease when he was about 10 and the doctor told my sister and her husband to give him grapefruit seed extract and colloidal silver. It took all the symptoms away and he hasn't had any trouble since and he was hurting so bad that they had to push him around in a stroller for a while because his legs hurt so bad. I love the sound of the rain at the end. It reminded me of those ASMR videos. You should try to do one where instead of playing the music, just let us hear the natural sounds of you moving about in your garden or home doing things. It's very calming to hear the birds and watch the cat being silly, or just the sounds of you baking.

I’m a tree hugger too. Unfortunately we lost a large white pine tree this year. Im so sad that we lost it. We are in our mid sixties and my husband and I cut it down and cut it up ourselves. No we’d like to add some new trees to fill in for privacy.

Some hydrangeas bloom on old wood, so if trimmed too late, it will not bloom. I don't have luck with the hydrangeas where I live in WestTN. Maybe I am just too lazy

Same for my hydrangeas. I didn’t cut mine down and they’re blooming a beautiful purplish dark blue. Last year no blooms.

I have a gate similar to yours. Usually it's just a backdrop for 🪴on my porch .
I love the gate!! Stay with whatever makes your ❤ happy. That definitely makes mine 😊 happy. Mine is in the shed right now and you just made me want to bring it back out. Mine was used between two town neighbors and I can just imagine the visits for tea between two ladies at one time. My heart melts.

I am further south in North Carolina and my hydrangeas are doing wonderfully this year because we had such a rainy spring. Unfortunately we haven't had rain now for a few weeks and the beautiful flowers are starting to burn but I am cutting the pretty ones and enjoying them in the house. I was thinking that possibly the deer could have been eating the buds since you live in a wooded area but often as you probably know separating a plant will give it new life I have been a hydrangea fanatic for about 25 years now because they are so long lasting outside and inside❤
