    I still can't believe this thing on generic snow tires beat an ADV bike, a pickup truck, and two SUVs, all much newer than it, on the dirt. This video has forever convinced me that changing from normal-size cars to SUVs was one of the worst things that could have ever happened.

    In summary, for those who don't have patience lol, the E46 as used in this video proves to be a fantastic entry level seat-time car for those looking to get into rally. On top of that, factors that make it good are the great weight balance, enough steering angle, and decent handling out of the box. The car in the video is modified very little, just suspension and brakes, and they mostly focused on giving it a decent tune up and new fluids to start. No matter your level of skill and training, this is a fun rally for all skill levels!

Ended up selling it when the moon roof no longer wanted to stay on the rails, a mysterious parasitic drain would drain the battery over night if I didn't disconnect a terminal when parking, the driver side door lock cylinder broke and became completely free spinning, and the main seal started leaking oil, all within a period of about 3 months lol

    heya! E46 owner here,, it sounds like the rev limiter on this car is coming in earlier than it should from what i could hear in the audio. It should be bouncing limiter at 6500rpm or so,, meaning you wouldn't fall quite as hard out of the power in 3rd. The speedometer not working is most likely due to a bad wheel speed sensor, believe it reads from the rear left sensor specifically, and could be part of the rev limiter problem. It should also be noted that you could get an automatic diff,, which would shorten the ratio pretty notably and really wake the car up for this kind of driving!

      @@produman12 Also it will rotate of course but it will rotate with the car moving because it gets no torque while other wheel gets all the power. And you can't do stable donuts he did at the start as well. Car will slide but as you get faster it will want to go straight right away. I have an open diff e34 believe me it refuses to continue drifting as you accelerate. Left rear will prevent lateral movement because it has no torque to make it go sideways and because right rear is spinning it can't keep the drifting by itself for there is not enough traction to carry on drifting

    • @Flyturn7
      @Flyturn7 10 месяцев назад

      @@produman12 It's common that people upgrade their bmws. I have swapped a 6 speed manual transmission from an e60 and a lower ratio differential to increase the top speed of my car to go up to 280kph. Old bmws are like legos you can swap in many parts from other cars and do it very cheaply. And people who have bmws like to work on and upgrade their cars. Also with open diff you only get 50/50 torque at wheels until one of them starts spinning after that the spinning wheel will hog all the power I forgot to mention that it is way more simple explanation.
