    Great review - I bought a used 2018 Q5 Premium + with the exact same specs as this one a year ago and love it, it replaced a 2010 Q5 that had the 3.2 litre naturally aspirated V6 and this one has significantly better fuel economy - about 3 to 4 mpg better. I love all the features but haven't yet used all of them - I am still learning, and it is also quieter than the 2010 model. Mine was made in Mexico and the quality of finish etc. is superb - just like in the 2010 model that I had.

    Driving a sedan, but looking to get into a suv. Really like the Audi Q5, so have been checking out all the videos available, and must say I enjoyed yours more than any other! Great review!

    Hi Bryan. One of my favorite RUclips reviewers.... testing one of my favorite cars . Nice to see you cruising around in an Audi again , such nice cars. The prefect Colorado mountain vehicle, that's for sure. cheers, BW

      +Bill The new Q5 is definitely more expensive than the outgoing model. I had a 2015 p+ with technology and sport packages and it was $48k. The Q5 in this video had B&O and virtual cockpit and the dual clutch auto with a non mechanical quattro awd system. I think the Allroad would work well also, but I'm not sure about ground clearance and breakover info. Thanks for watching!

    Do you have an idea when is 2018 q7 will be revealed?

    Thanks for the great review, Bryan. I've been looking to replace my car with a Q5, but I don't want a 4 cylinder, I need something with more power. I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the 2018 SQ5, did they give you any idea when it might be coming?

      +riad halawi Thanks! I use this route in particular because I'm familiar with the area. I usually keep this route for all the Audi models I drive.

    Right now I have a v6 car and my lease will be up in the next few months and I'm thinking of an SUV, do you feel this has enough power for what I'm used to? If not do you have any other suggestions of a luxury SUV?

    Great review one of the best I have seen. Really like how you used multiple cameras to get the best view. You should do a video on how you use cameras for making a RUclips video! I purchased my Q5 PP and should have it next week. Whoever put the shipping bag on it did not do it correctly and the zipper damaged the paint just above the rear door so it needs a small repair. I am going from a 2013 A6PP to the Q6 PP

    Thank you for the great review, i have mine since july 2017 and i really like it. The only thing i dislike about it is that the screen isn't a touch screen, i hope they will change that in the next version. Also thank you for the info on how to close the trunk with the kick, i didn't know that.

    Could you please comment on the cabin noise level. Is it more quiet than average? I want a quiet cabin. I am considering moving from my Benz GLK to this 2018 Q5. (I know I am giving up 2 cylinders) I see a number of 2018 Q5's at my dealerships loaded with the features I want all with the 20" wheel package. I have always thought that the ride quality would be better with 19" or 18" wheels, (more sidewall). What is your opinion of the 20"s wheels and ride on the Q5?

    • @NewCarSpin
      @NewCarSpin  7 лет назад

      +tderisi I drove a 2015 Q5 TDI with 20" wheels on my other channel, Diesel Review. The road noise was appalling and the handling in the rain was unforgivable. I owned a 2015 Q5 2.0 with 19" sport package and Conti tires. Drove it round trip from Texas to South Carolina and had a blast.

    Great Review! But I regret getting this car... I just leased this car 2 months ago brand new and 1 month in burnt tail light and windshield wipers jerk up about 2 inches while driving occasionally. Now I'm at month 2 and the check engine light came on. I wish I could return it only has 1100 miles on it. Are audi's know for problems... I am wondering if its because there made in mexico now.

    What a great review! Just like your Q7 review. I must've watched it like a dozen times. Do you know if this will have a night vision option on the prestige, Bryan?

    • @NewCarSpin
      @NewCarSpin  7 лет назад +1

      +FinestInstinct That's a great question. As far as right now, a Prestige trim will have an available damping suspension. The driving assistance package and the respective aides are not available on the Q5 or SQ5. All the A4 and Q7 tech will remain on those vehicles. Thanks for watching!

    Have you looked at or researched the new 2018 VW Tiguan ? It looks like VW wants to seriously compete in the SUV market. They say that people are really wanting the Atlas when it hits the dealerships too. I myself am waiting on the 2018 Golf to be released. Had to give back my 15 Passat TDI SE (buy back) recently and am already missing the mileage. Hi from central florida btw.

      +jasont42 Hey Jason. I saw the new Tiguan at the Dallas Auto Show. ruclips.net/video/OSfayIDxz70/видео.html
      I also saw the new Atlas and the Wolfsburg Touareg.

    Darn it, now that I watched this video, You got me thinking to buy the Q5 instead of the A4.

    • @NewCarSpin
      @NewCarSpin  7 лет назад

      +srincomptr That would be my suggestion. But the A5 Sportback will be here soon. The A4 doesn't make my short list. A3, Q5, A5 Sportback are all better looking than the A4. I would predict them to have better residuals than the A4 as well.

  • @jiggysmb
    @jiggysmb 7 лет назад +1

    Now that the Q5 is made in mexico I wonder if they will experience the same drop in quality as VW, Ford, GMC, Chevy and Nissan are now plagued with. Audi has had so many quality issues already with the timing chain tensioner failing, piston rings/oil consumption, dieselgate, etc. I have owned 3 Audi's but it seems after 2008 they turned into junk. My wife's 2012 Q5 has 40k miles and is experiencing the oil consumption which eventually leads to engine failure due to loss of compression, but many 2009-2012 owners had engine fail due to timing chain failure and Audi leaves them hanging. Why spend $50k on a car that will only last 5 years? The secondary market is non existent so resale value has almost disappeared.

    • @NewCarSpin
      @NewCarSpin  7 лет назад

      1. Dieselgate is not a reliability issue. It's the opposite.
      2. Resale for everything has fallen - just look at your neighbor's 2009 S-class. You can pick that up for $9,000 these days.

      +The Wisdom of the FlashGordon Did you use drive select to change out of comfort mode? Did you drop the transmission into sport mode?

    • @t6553gw
      @t6553gw 7 лет назад

      I used individual mode to change steering to sport and left transmission in auto. That is how I typically configure Audi when I drive. Except for A8 sport steering is so artificially heavy then I use comfort. Be honest with you I like the previous gen Audi hefty German feel better than this newer gen. I am interested in how the new S4 feel with and without the Sport package. I guess it is not going my like

    Any owners out there getting a tin can clang noise from the brake pedal when it’s released ? Big problem in cars coming to the UK. Audi apparently have found a cure which involves changing the brake servo and the master cylinder- in a new car !!!, plastic everywhere in the interior. Door pull handles are hard plastic, seat runners are visible with the screw rod on display. Everything looks cheap inside and this car has been produced as cheap as possible. I returned mines after 6 months and went Mercedes. The Mk1 was a much more solid and well put together car. Nothing against Mexicans, but if you pay cheap wages you are going to get a cheaply built product which will kill your reputation big time. There are better cars out there for less money - be aware.

    • @NewCarSpin
      @NewCarSpin  5 лет назад +1

      Could be a supplier issue. A lot of Audi models have had recalls over the past 12 months.

  • @ryanray6215
    @ryanray6215 7 лет назад +1

    I am not buying Mexican car for sure .
    For me it has to be made in Germany for that kind of money . Jetta cost 17 K . it's ok even it is made in Mexico . Audi 50 K plus , must be nuts to get this model made in Mexico .
