We didn't see that scene coming at all lol! 😆 And we got a new companion! 🥰 You can now find our reactions to episodes 14-22 of season 1 over on our Pateron: www.patreon.com/ScribblesReactions
In the new group, I consider Frieren to be take the role of the Hero as she’s leading the party. Then everyone else’s roles line up: Fern the Mage, Stark the Warrior, and Sein the Priest.
Frieren running with two magical ranged DPS, a Tank and no healer is absolutely "New Game+" behavior 😅😂 glad to know she does realize the utility of a priest, though, since Fern and Stark are totally new to adventuring 🎉🎉🎉 21:55 I somewhat understand Sein not wanting to leave because originally, he stayed out of a misguided sense of loyalty to his brother. Sein grew up in the village as a way to justify his brother's decision to stay a village priest. But after so many years, the barrier became "well how do I even go about finding my lost friend after 10 years by myself?" Being recruited by a strong party with a clear goal was a way to ease himself into a search: "well I don't know where to start looking but maybe I can find a trail while I travel with this party". The same way Stark was paralyzed because he was not eased into the task of fighting a dragon alone, Sein was paralyzed because he didn't see a way to search for his friend alone.
The most normal person joined the group. Stark from Eisen: We can tough out poison! Fern from Heiter: Alcohol is the best medicine! Frieren from Flamme: Outdatet seduction technique from over 1000y
Frieren as a character is a walking contradiction. She has the mind of a 15 year old girl struggling with her emotions and the experience of a millennia living sage. And the writers are doing masterclass job to show us this paradox with her actions. Basically Frieren is a social study of elves as a race.

I really liked the way this show is handling brotherly relationships. Thanks for sharing.
It’s really heartwarming how they portray it! 😊
