  • NOW ENTERING…GAS CITY, a video
scrapbook of its people, places and history
as seen through the eyes of its residents,
premieres live at 8 p.m. Thursday, September 5
on Ball State PBS and at ballstatepbs.org, on the
PBS App and the Ball State Public Media App.

NOW ENTERING…GAS CITY features a variety
of video vignettes about this Grant County
city, told by several of its biggest cheerleaders.
    Community members collected video footage
and still photos to showcase the stories that
make their town unique. Then the Ball State PBS
production team traveled to Gas City to record
interviews at the new Gas City Performing Arts
Center with our storytellers, which serve as the
narrators for each of their stories.
On September 5, some of those storytellers
will be in the Ball State PBS studios for the live
pledge program to talk about their experiences
    and take your phone calls.
    NOW ENTERING…GAS CITY explores the
history of Gas City with the Gas City Historical
Museum and the Boomtown 1892 Celebration.
The program includes stories about the
    Chief Eckstein scholarship, the Guinness
World Record Bath Bomb, the importance of
volunteering and having free events everyone
    can participate in.
    And finally, NOW ENTERING…GAS CITY
shares the importance of quality of life and
place with stories about the police and fire
departments, city projects, the schools, SHOP
Gas City and Main Street Gas City.
