I sold my old v2 Star Adventurer a couple of years ago when i got my first telescope mount (iOptron CEM26). But it's an overkill for these simple tracking shots where is just want a wide field tracked shot of the Milky Way, so i can create a composite image with a nice astro landscape foreground. I think i will go with the Mini this time, just because of the small form factor and it will be enough for my D750 and a 85mm lens. Cheers!
Great video .. I have just bought a new Star adventurer 2i .. it's not my first tracker but I am more serious now about taking widefirld shots of the night sky . I bought a zs61 scope but I find myself looking at a DSLR and a very widefield lens especially with the winter constellations around the corner . Thanks for your insight into this fascinating hobby . It really has helped and also it's great to see a channel that concentrates on the more basic areas of astrophotography , ie using affordable equipment opening up the night sky for more and more people .
Just discovered your channel. Great content! I look forward to seeing more from Queensland skies. I’ve been under them many times in visits from Canada. Just a tip - everyone misses the trick with the Mini (then complains about always having to use WiFi) - just use the app once to setup a sequence of enough shots for several hours of tracking. Then turn on the AutoRun function under Settings. From then on you just need to power it on with the button. It starts turning without needing to use the app or WiFi again. Not unless you want to shoot time lapses with it. Cheers!
Do you feel that the GTI can handle more weight than the original Star Adventurer? I know the payload is 5kg for both, but the GTI seems more robust. I tried a 3kg telephoto lens on the original Star Adventurer and it was very shakey.

Think about the Nomad as well!
The mini is honestly the only tracker I use now. I sometimes use the 2i just to blow the cobwebs off 😂👍🏼

🙌🏼 I really glad that my video has been of help. That is my intention. Thanks for the feedback.

You’re 100% right, it’s an underrated tracker. Thanks for watching, I hope you subbed? 😋👍🏼

Great video thanks. Was looking at the gti but after watching your video it might be the mini.
The mini is mighty 🙌🏼
Mate loving the idea of getting a tracker, can remember you trying to convince me to get one back in the day
It's never to late mate.
Each season I say I'm gonna buy a tracker. I think the mini is good enough for me
I hardly use anything else now. I even contemplate selling the other trackers sometimes.
Is the Star adventurer mini cabable of autoguiding? Or is it even necessary because it is so exact?
No….it has no auto guiding port. It’s primarily just for you wide angle Nightscapes. 👍🏼
Great Video, thanks. I hope to buy a star Tracker this year... Lyn Maher
Thanks Lyn. It the best way to take your night sky images to that "Next Level".
