Gudmunder is a warlord
Same as Tozen being a Orochi, Apollyon a Warden, Holden a Lawbringer. They have the standard then more, then inspired Kyoshin, Warmonger and Gryphon. He's saying a Gudmunder new character with a slightly different weapon.

Gryphon is Knights, Vikings, Samurai and Wu Lin combined. He takes move from all factions, Kensei forward dodge light, short cut to finisher from dodge attack and gb-throw-heavy finisher, any with a guaranteed chain light, LB bash, opener and chain attacks and parry-riposte armor (Obviously, with Gryphon literally just being an older, world-wide experienced LB), JJ zone, Zhanhu side dodge heavies, HL forward dodge heavy in form of top heavy finisher and HL kick.

It'd be kinda neat to have a heavy, grappler type. Maybe something like Shugoki where he lunges forward and bear hugs you for health? Or something like Afeera where his Feats would do some shit like that
Imagine his wolves be implemented as his T4 from the campaign. Would be interesting but they probably wouldn't know how to make it work. Especially for 4 stacks.

Mmmmmm. Hard to use Gudmundur as the sole idea. Now hear me out cause it sounds wild. But, Warden and Warmonger are slightly different Apollyon. Orochi is a watered down Kyoshin/Tozen. But if the Vikings get a inspiration from Warlord, there's Gudmundur AND Stigandr. Why Stigandr? Simple, because Gryphon is Holden and Holden never died in the campaign like Apollyon and Tozen did. So it's actually a 50/50 if they use a Warlord base.

Kyoshin= not the Samurai general, just a bunch of kids trained.
Unless Gudmunder had a son or some super fan I can’t imagine him being “remade.”
You kind of answered your own question there by mentioning warmonger and kyoshin. No they are not the exact legacy character but derived from. So a charcter derived from gudmunder would actually make alot of sense
If its an axe and shield they'll probably have Gudmundr's armor set like how Warmonger has Apollyon's and Kyoshin has General Tozen's.

Tozen is literally an Orochi on steroids, so I'm surprised they didn't give the Orochi a Tozen skin
Because Kyoshin is modelled from Tozen. They're supposed to be his shadow clones or whatever they're called, that's why they have his armour
@precursoryt The Kyoshin have no confirmed lore ties to Tozen. Their gameplay and armor were just inspired from his boss fight. Nothing more.

Maybe if the Shield was oval shaped, and had an Axe instead of a Sword, then I could see it

EDIT: the bear hug move always felt weird to me. If you have a large shield, hugging someone would be extremely awkward and difficult, this move would fit much better on Raider or Berserker

Next hero will be a Viking, then an Outlander. It's too late to stop the ole "Let's take a campaign character from story mode, give them a new weapon and a slightly different moveset and make them a new character." But Gudmundr would be the last significant campaign character with a unique moveset to make into a new hero, so there's that.

Please stop just reusing heroes from the campaign that already are an in-game-class. Apollyon IS a Warden. Tozen IS an Orochi. Holden IS a Lawbringer. And Gudmundr IS a Warlord. This cheap shit has to stop
It's too late to stop it all now. Luckily Gudmundr would be the last significantly unique moveset based character from story mode so there wouldn't be any additional heroes they could take from story mode and make entirely new characters with similar movesets to their original counterparts from.
