Very brave guy who seems to be doing well love and support from his family is just such a critical component it can be exhausting and not linear but that consistent love and support and encouragement is paramount As far as anasognosia I’m not certain he suffered from it it’s a distinct brain disorder that is not a part of all psychosis spectrum disorders it’s been shown it’s caused by brain damage to the part called the insula and neurological plasticity can help heal that damage in some -so insight returns - he seemed aware from day one things were changing in him not that he was fine and everyone around him had problems which is common I believe anasognosia will soon be in the DSM as a distinct disorder from psychotic disorders and just just a symptom Dr Turkington all psychosis involves anasognosia but not all with psychosis experience it in assuming that’s active vs residual as some with residual psychosis still have anasognosia even in his active state of psychosis he knew he will ill so it’s amazing and confusing !
