@@BhuvanaAdi i think bore water better to find the exact salt contant of water to soft the water.. then how the mechine know the the salt content of water?
The water softener does not work that way. It does not measure the salt content in the water. In case you are in doubt, please use the same water you are going to connect to the dishwasher. Thanks.
For salt refills are you saying to add just another half kilo of salt each time? When your first filled you maintained a one to one ratio of salt to water to make the brine solution. I find with other videos people just add salt until whatever water is there overflows. Over time the water level will reduce and the brine solution won't be as effective. Does the machine add water on its own to this compartment at all or is it up to the user to ensure water is adequate?
That depends on the water hardness and salt setting in the machine. For medium water hardness, with daily use of the machine, 1 kg salt lasts for nearly 2 to 2.5 months. Higher the hardness, higher the salt consumption. Thanks.
Bosch dishwasher repair teek home ke baad woh bhi use kar rahi hoon.
I'm using Bosch dishwasher for the last 3 months. The person who gave demo, didn't tell about adding water in the salt dispenser along with salt.So I only fill salt without water. Now the symbol for salt is showing. But there is enough salt which is dry. What to do mam?
Hi Jayalakshmi, you have not mentioned if you are always using tablets and if you have filled salt the very first time. If you are not using salt, it is better to set the salt indicator level to 0, else the light will turn on to indicate that salt has to be filled. If you have kept it on any other level and have filled salt earlier, then the indicator light comes on to indicate that you have to refill salt. You have to fill/refill salt as the case may be, depending on your water hardness. Unless your water is soft it is better to fill salt in the salt compartment, and set the salt level based on your water hardness. Hope I have made myself clear. If the light does not go even after a few washes, then call for Bosch service if it is under warranty. Sometimes the sensor turns out to be faulty. Thanks.
I am using salt setting as 4. Actually water is my gated community is treated in WTP to soften and soft water comes in tap for dishwasher. Though TDS ranges from 1000 to 1100, i used the small hardness test paper that came along the machine. Only 2 squares turned red. Does that mean water hardness is less though TDS is high?? Some vessels are shiny. Some vessels little patchy while drying....
Hi Lina, It is advisable to empty the entire water in the salt chamber along with the dissolved/undissolved detergent. For this you may have to use a siphon pipe. You can get a siphon pipe at a nearby plumbing items shop. Please ensure it is done before you fill the compartment with fresh water and salt. Hope this helps. Thanks.
For any make dishwasher, you normally add 1 litre water and 1 kg salt. You can follow the same procedure shown for Bosch dishwashers. Normally the salt chamber can take 1 kg salt. Thanks.
Hi recently bought Bisch dishwasher the detergent does not get used completely initially didn't faced this problem but from few days facing this issue ... please reply
Hi Jayashree, I have shown washing of a few silver and brass pooja items in some of my videos. I have also shown copper bottom kadais and copper bottom milk vessels being washed in many videos. You can watch them by clicking the various dishwasher videos from the playlist below: ruclips.net/p/PLvZ681nV6tYrXkjwrFQC7-MSnWRNpfsq2 It is advisable to not to wash mixed metals in a single load as they could react with each other. Also, it is difficult to get a full load of silver, copper, brass pooja items. Brass and copper bottom vessels (which means full copper items could be cleaned well too) get cleaned well, they come out shiny; but silver is not dishwasher friendly. Thanks.
The drying happens even after the cycle is completed. You have to keep the door slightly open for about 10 min and then open the door fully. It takes 15 to 20 minutes for complete drying. If there is still wetness, you have to change the rinse aid setting. Thanks.
Dear mam,Thanks for your video, we use bosch dishwasher, two months before only we purchased, our water hardness is 880, we use finish detergent, salt and rinse aid ,I tried with all the long & short programme cycle but no vessel is cleaned properly , now only am watching your video, you are giving very good support, after watching your video , l've set hardness to H7 , rinse to r6, but still there is no improvement in performance, even we called the service engineer they said to put RO system to reduce water hardness but as we residing in apartment it is too difficult to get RO plant immediately, anyhow we have requested, but is there any other solution please suggest me mam
Hi, thanks for your comment. While your water is definitely on the hard side and I would advise you to somehow look at the option of connecting soft water connection to your dishwasher in the long run, I will definitely help my best to get better cleaning in your dishwasher in the circumstances. Please remember due to the high rinse aid and salt settings, their consumption and hence the running cost of dishwasher will go up. You have to keep in mind this aspect as long as you have connected hard water to the dishwasher. I would request you to do the following if possible - 1) Share some photos of your dishwasher inside and the washed utensils to my email id bhuvanaadis@gmail.com. 2) Please mention your model number and the city/town you are in. 3) Stop using Finish as it does not work well for hard water. Buy either Fortune detergent, tablet or Bosch detergent, tablet. Rinse aid and salt brand should not matter, but try to buy Fortune or Bosch detergent at the earliest and start using them and let me know whether there is any improvement. You can buy Fortune rinse aid after the present stock gets over. Thanks.
Hi mam, thanks for your prompt reply, it means a lot, Sure mam I will try BOSCH product and will share the PIC of washed dishes to ur mail and try to find out the possibility of reducing the water hardness level. kindly give your support.
Hi Mam very useful information. I bought a new Bosch dishwasher and the technician who came today for installation told like only Finish tablet is enough and no need to use salt and rinse aid. My water is mostly soft only as it is well water which we use for drinking and even we do not find white stains while washing with hand. He said the preset value of hardness level is ok and we bought finish balls from him. Now with only finish tablets, I ran my first load today. My new induction bottom Bergener Kadai and new butterfly SS cooker got brown marks both at inside and outside flat bottom surface. Looks like rainbow marks while we get while over heating empty vessel. Also they had hard white stains inside. But other normal light weight SS vessels did not have any stains. I used express sparkle mode and did not change Or add any other options. Kindly help with correct settings. I have ordered fortune salt, detergent, rinseaid combo now to try that as well. Please help with how to stop my new vessels getting spoiled further.
Please change your salt setting to H1 as you seem to be using soft water. You should find better cleaning. Also for soft water, you can use less detergent. You can arrive at the correct quantity after some trial and error. Also there is no need to use tablets for every cycle. You can use detergent for short cycles and lightly soiled dishes. Thanks.

What's that adjusting salt setting?
Hi Rajeswari, setting salt level means adjusting the requirement of salt which will be required to soften water based on your water hardness.
