    ℹ️Things You Need To Know:
Howdy from Dallas, Texas. I am Ray, the owner of Hike-ALOT and also co-owner of the Texas Survival School. I am a certified hiking guide with the American Hiking Guide Association & Northeast Mountain Guides, wilderness survival instructor with Texas Survival School, Red Cross instructor for Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED and Wilderness First Aid, plus Stop The Bleed instructor with up to date credentials in Leave No Trace and Outdoor Ethics / Stewardship.
The Hike-ALOT school itself was born as an avenue to give students from the wilderness survival school and my frequent day hiking companions, make the jump from day hiking to overnight backpacking. The name itself is a reference to where our students come from - Arkansas(A), Louisiana(L), Oklahoma(O), and Texas(T). That is why it is "ALOT" instead of "a lot".

Good tips Ray, even this old fart learned a couple new ideas!
    What poles do you use?
I use a pair of Lleki Makalu Lite aluminum trekking poles.

Lately I’ve been using a set of Cascades that I picked up off of Amazon. They’ve held up pretty well. I’ve figured out the features I prefer but haven’t really settled in yet on a brand that I prefer yet.

I've been using these Leki poles for a couple of years. They were highly rated, especially for durability. And having aluminum tubing, I can attest to their strength
Another benefit for using trekking poles is when hunting they work well as a Improvised rifle rest.
