That’s kinda difficult to accomplish in a song that jumps all over the place such as this one :) to have an excessive vibrato i mean.

George London had a wonderful vibrato; matter of fact, most of the greats had vibrato action that was very normalized and centered. Those who didn't were the C and D tier singers who never was taken seriously . But since you say this, I wonder if one of your favorite singers happens to be Cecilia Bartoli who does this aggressive and wrong vibrato action as well.
Ah but vibrato is the natural healthy oscillation of the vocal chords, each person's is different and should not be forced to be one way or another.

I knew it! I was right! I first heard Aksel's uncanny beautiful soprano voice singing Mozart's Alleluja. It was so beautiful that I listened over and over, then looked up everything he sang. Aksel was expressing concern over what would happen when his voice changed. I wrote a comment telling him he needn't worry because his musicianship was impeccable and would carry him through the changes as he matured. He answered me, thanking me for my comments! So I could brag that I knew Aksel Rykkvin personally! ( LOL! ) So here he is again, a baritone, his voice as beautiful as ever. I am looking forward now to following him as an adult. What next, Aksel?

Wow, he made the successful transition from glorious boy soprano to now glorious tenor!
At the moment, he prefers to call his voice a light baritone (see the Wikipedia article "Baritone").
I have appreciated and sung this lied many many many times... yours I have listened to about six times straight now! It's just wonderful! Thank you. .....AND, the Schubert is just perfect for that voice. I envy you SO much! You will have so much joy getting to dive into this magnificent repertory for the first time! So many joys ahead for you!!

I am being completely honest with you now Aksel. I play a cornet and I’ve attended many concerts all over my life where loads of singers have taken part, including young people at your age. You’ve got one of the best voices I’ve ever heard. It’s just the way you sing that makes you stand out. I live in Wales and Aled Jones (Im sure you’ve heard of him) was brought up exactly where I live and even though Im only 19 years old, I grew up listening to him and enjoyed his music. I reckon you’ve already got a better voice than Aled Jones, and he turned out to be an excellent singer. Keep up the good work Aksel, you should be proud of yourself😊🏴

A great many things we worry about turn out to be not so bad--or, in your case, rather spectacularly good.
Just found this soprano singer today (videos of him at age 11) then clicked here - wonderful to hear his adult voice.
Don't forget Schubert's brilliant accompaniment...so evocative and inventive...an equal partner in the song!

With every song in your 'new' voice, I'm finding that you have brought the best of your treble voice along - You! I'm probably not saying this very well. What I mean is, not only has your singing been technically brilliant all along, but what you bring to your singing makes whatever you sing come completely alive. Now that your voice has changed, I can see (or hear) more how it is so. The regard for, and deep attention to the subtle energy of each song adds an extra special element to the technical precision.

What a fine and enjoyable performance!
I've very much enjoyed going through the versions of this lovely, if slightly sad, piece (very few happy endings in Schubert) and I come back to Aksel's which is just light and refreshing, serious but not overly so, and it is a real pleasure to enjoy. I can't wait to hear all the other ones he's so far performed!

This reappeared on my RUclips feed, and I see it went up two long years ago to the day. Still lovely, you sang it beautifully and it's both light and effervescent, with superb clarity. While you continue to move on, it's a joy to listen to something so lovely still - the young voice, when like this, has so much to offer!
