I have said for a while now that when I go "really grey" {just starting to now}, I will have dreads. Seems like a fun way to ride out the older years, ha! I think my middle school students would also get a kick out of that... My natural hair is much like yours, fine texture, medium volume, light brown... very versatile, it has always gone along with my creative ideas. Is the care for grey hair dreads any different? Thank you for your videos, they are very informative and positive.

I'm getting ready to do my own dreads but I am seeing conflicting information on how to prepare your hair prior to doing them? One thing I read said something about not washing your hair with regular soap for a month (using residue free stuff) before getting dreads another one said just wait a couple days after a shower. What do you recommend?

Halllppp! 90% of the time I am pulling hair using a crochet hook back into my dread it is breaking the hair!? Not pulling it through. I’m not pulling hard or to far out, just as I am pulling the hook back through the dread you can hear the hair all breaking. And all the broken hair is coming out and making flufflies!

Can you do a video on the crown pattern, starting dreads on top of the head? I assume there is a pattern that is best to follow. Should you dread holding the hair in a certain direction when first forming the dreads on top? I hope my question makes sense. I'm just concerned that when the dreads are new, they will fall in a weird way, if you dread in the wrong directions (like back or to the side, or to the front).

Brooklyn Hudson yess, i call this "programming the dreads" and that just means to have them laying in the direction you want them, while crocheting them to lock them in place. I usually program them to lay going back. Within a few days they should be able to flop over any direction.
My favorite pattern for the whole head is pineapple sectioning AKA fan sectioning! Lays the best, part lines don't show, and it's easy to do! You can part as you go without banding off sections, because the parts are much more flowy and organic! 💕

Thank you! Okay great... that makes sense. I'd still love to see a video showing how you pattern the top of the head, but this helps greatly. Thanks!

@@WiredAndStoned hey, it looks like you maybe abandoned this channel for some reason but if by chance you still check the comments would your mind doing a video on this pineapple sectioning you're talking about? Your explanations are so easy to follow, there's no other channel like yours out there
