Sfv has made me like Balrog. Idk, everything about him is just way more serious and intimidating, his look his, his moves, his theme and even his attitude in this game is way more serious. I always saw him as just a high ranking Shadaloo stooge obsessed with money and though he's still about the money it seems like (finally) he doesn't take shit from anyone and seems like he really is a infamous leader of Shadaloo. On top of that, his relationship with Ed threw in another dimension to his character. Thank you sfv
I know this comment is kinda old, but honestly, I agree. I never cared for Balrog as a character before 5, they did a great job!

@@CoopNinjask1 The creator said it was based off Mike Tyson. I saw a video a couple of years ago where Tyson played SF as Balrog. It was pretty funny cause Tyson was like "Yea I would whoop Balrogs ass if we ever laced up the gloves and fought" Like me saying I was gonna get in a time machine, go back 20 years and beat the shit outta myself. lol
They fleshed him out more as a person and even refined his move set. They wanted him to be taken more seriously in Street Fighter V.
A fine arrangement of a classic musical composition, suitable for obtaining recompense for pugilistic endeavors.

Like them or hate them, you can't deny that each of the fighter's themes has a more "epic" and grand feel to it.

I love this song, but in particular, I absolutely love 1:01-1:15. I'm not entirely sure why, but that segment of the song sounds...softer than the rest of it. It gives me the feeling that Balrog isn't all bad; which is an idea that is enforced by Ed's story mode. If there's anything SFV did right, it was its handling of Balrog. It made him less of a 2D villain and more of an actual human being, and I love that.
I know right? I feel like they actually did a pretty good job actually characterizing some of the characters in SFV, which I guess makes sense since they actually had a story this time around to do that with. I've even had a similar change in perspective about Guile, since before SFV he always just seemed like a generic GI Joe solder guy (I mean heck, his intro quote in SF4 was "Mission Start!") but now I can look at him as much more of a human character.
Back to Balrog tho, this theme definitely makes it seem like he's in it for more than just the money. I might not care much for fighting against him, but I seriously think he has the best theme out of everyone in SFV thus far.

I mean he is one of Bisons few personal guards. He is the strongest boxer on the planet for sure in sf. He killed an elephant in one punch.

This is my favorite, theme in this Street Fighter 5, series.
Knowledge drop: right before Balrog's theme starts to loop, a piece of his Alpha 3 song plays. After I recognized it I was like "SICK!! CAPCOM'S COMIN WITH THOSE TRACKS!"
They brought the heat to these tracks in SFV 🔥🔥🎧
I had the same reaction hearing Birdie's Alpha 3 theme mixed with his others in 5.

Now, this the one that presentation trailer used, and I'm glad to hear that they mixed both themes from street fighter 2 and alpha 3.

SF V made me love Balrog. The theme, the stage, the stage theme, the impactful feel behind those punches and the creative V-Triggers.

Great Theme, nearly all the SFV themes have been great.
I only had to hear this song once to get it stuck in my head. The song is Perfect for training stage, trials and honestly sounds like it could work as a theme representing the Whole game. Song would also fit Ryu to be honest. If the song had Balrog screaming in the background similar to those that scream Raaaaashiiiiidoooo in Rashid's theme then this song would probably be way more awesome "You won't hear the full ten-count! Why don't you go to hell?!" "I'm the chaaaaaaaaaaaamp!"
Better than Balrog's theme in Street Fighter IV! This theme really has a lot of improvement over the last Street Fighter IV theme!
Yeah, the weird techno sound they used a lot that sounds like someone going "WAAAAAH WAAAAAAH" doesn't really sound that great to me. But now here, when that singing starts at 1:30 I get shivers down my spine.

Who else is weirded out by Balrog's abnormally tiny hands in the cutscenes?
Considering the fact that the characters tend to have big hands and feet in-game, that's surprising.
Spoiler alert!
The boxing gloves are way bigger than his hands. He's got the hands of a young child but is too embarrassed to admit it, so he wears boxing gloves with some stuff inside them so that people think that his hands are bigger than they actually are.
Balrog is a beast
Man nearly every character theme in SFV is better than the one these characters had in SFIV. Can't wait to hear Juri's. Will it be a mix of her SFIV theme or something all new?
Music in V is amazing and have to agree with you for most part. Cammy theme in IV is superior though, more energetic and action pumped with those guitar riffs.
That's exactly the track I had in mind when I said "nearly" every track is better. Cammy's theme is a bit better in SFIV than V.

This is in my work out playlist when i go running the song just pumps my heart up and i go in a burst until i fall from fatigue then start doing push up no open palm with my knuckles pumping myself up to do more if my set is fifty i tell myself one more then one more and again and again and again until my arms give out I'm 230 my goal is to go down to 200 so i can work on getting more muscle I'm trying to be a wrestler with my brother it's hard but i gotta push on soi can be with him when i do I'm gonna make some custom gear to wear to honor balrog because this song just gets me hyped up to do more

Yeah, both the story mode dlc and the separate patch are each about 8GB. So you'll need about 16GB free.
