- Summer arrived in Lapland & the sun was shining in the middle of the night. I cycled out of the cabin in the forest at Ylläs area. My plan is to cycle to the northern part of Finnish lapland then cross to North Norway. On my way to North i am going to pass by a town called Inari in north Lapland/Finland. One of my good friend lives in Inari, who is a black smith and makes handmade puukko knives. Puukko knives are one the traditional crafts of Finland. which is famous world wide. In this vlog you will see how a handmade puukko blade is being forged by Juho Korteniemi!
If you want to check out Juho's craft below is Juho's facebook page and his blog and contact info:

Hail is ice from sky in English Peyman or you can call it sleet if it's rain and ice mixed. Awesome episode an awesome knife. Thank you for sharing.
Fantastic, Thank you! will try to remember it 🙌🏼. Most welcome!
@@NomadsTrailscome to the Midwest US and maybe see the largest hail on Earth in the summer. Same size as a grapefruit sometimes.
You are such a positive person, thank you for the inspiration and another amazing video!
By the way, I would be very happy if you add Turkish to the automatic translation.
When are you coming to India.
The cycling community is growing in India.. You will get a sponsor from a lot of brands like MTB, Firefox...
They have a huge market here
You live a wonderful life, so I started this passion. I always had a desire to explore and doing it by bike gives me incredible pleasure, if you come to Turkey, you can be my guest, my friend.
Happy to see the Slippers are still holding up! 😅 , you got me inspired Peyman I'm going to order a knife from the Man! Greate video, Thx
Amazing video! Couldn’t agree more. Every country, every piece of land has its particular beauty 😍

hello guys! are you using the email adress? I sent you a email asking some technical tips!
greaaaaaaaaaaaat routes , you got this!
Hi ...i need to say i really liked your stream.hope you update
Fascinating as always. Juho's talent is amazing.
Hi to you both (even though it’s a solo ride). Nature is beautiful! Have you considered 36 spoke wheels, would they hold their trueness more? And yes “sun is shining-life is good “
I wonder the same. Do 32 spoke wheels have more spoke breakages while touring with about 30 kgs weight as compared to 36 spoke wheels?
Hi , yes 36spoke wheels are stronger than 32. but also components you use for building your wheel plays a big role on how strong your wheels are. and off-course a good wheel build also.another factor here is the disc brakes, for sure disc brakes put stress on the spokes. specially with heavy loaded bikes. so i would defiantly go with 36 spoke wheels with good components for touring. :)
@@thattravellingguy the thing about weight and cycling around the world is, you can't count on how much wight actually you might carry. because at some sections of your tour you will carry water and food for many days. this kind of sections are usually off-road and will put a lots of pressure on your wheels. so i would highly recommend to ignore the on going trend with having light weight bicycle and make sure you have the strongest wheels possible for touring/ bikepacking regardless of how heavy or light you think your luggage is. :)
@@NomadsTrails @Nomad's Trails thank for replying Peyman. Since the surly disc trukker, Kona Sutra, trek 520 are not available donce 2 years, i was considering the Marin four corners cycle for touring. Do you have any idea about that? And thank you both once again for your beautiful videos.
@@thattravellingguy Most welcome, I ever tried the Marin bike, can't say so much about it really. i wold make sure bikes has durable and simple components, stiff enough frame and durable wheels. also it is really good if frame can accommodate wide tires. :)
Super nice video! Nice to see the blacksmith work as well :)
Thank you! 😊
that,s called an outhouse in the old days, and yes I have used them i,m old
❤💯
Entertaining as always. You have never published a bad video.

You are crisy hhhhh
fantastic, thanks Peyman, looking forward to the Arctic adventure

Puukko knife was the last thing that countless Russians felt before they departed this world during the Winter- and Continuation wars. Marvelous object 👍
the puukko is one of my favourite tools to have with me. i ever go anywhere with out it. :)
much love ❤️
Brother, watching you is awesome!! Your outlook is always"Amazing"!! I once traveled by the midnight sun, funny how your schedule gets very crazy when you don't know when to stop and go to sleep!!
Matilda
Good luck Peyman. Hope some miracle happens and Mathilda can ride again 🙏💐
Once again, really nice video... You two rock!
Thank you Toni!🙏🏼
Wonderful !
12:18 is that an airfield? ^^ Very beautiful nature though!
Your rain that isn't rain is called hail :)
Would be interesting to know which wood Juho used for the handdrill!
Yes indeed it is. Thsnks for the Hail 😁. Regarding the wood: on the bottom Juho used chagha mushroom. I asked about the drilling wood he said but I don't remember. Here is his contact you can ask him. Indeed Juho is very good with bushcraft techniques 👍👍

Loving the natural selfie stick, the reindeer, plus you have a dunnie! Any bears up there? I like the midnight sun. That was what we call sleet - frozen rain but not snow 13:43. The knife making craftsmanship I could watch all day. Beautiful countryside.
Great video thank you for taking us along!! As a cycling couple we often wonder how's Matilda? Cheers from Idaho :) USA
Hi, most welcome 😊, Matilda is doing well now 🙏 I just got off a phone call with her actually. She won't be cycling, there will be an update in our vlog number 32 or 33 . Greetings from Kenya/Peyman 🙏
@@NomadsTrails Happy trails brother!
Awesome bro
Thank you! :)
Wow you do ab workouts?
Were you able to successfully get a coal with the hand drill?
Hi yes indeed. as you could see in the movie we got the red ember. the idea of hand drill is to get the red ember then after that you can start the fire with that ember :)
@@NomadsTrails good work!
भारी आहे भावा 👍
Not sure you can just take a deer either, it belongs to the land owner.
Incredible place My friend
