    I’m a member of this course and the Wednesday scramble regularly! We have right at 40 members. It’s a 9 hole course but there are 18 tee boxes so there is a “front” and a “back”. The school did buy the course and a very large bond was passed to redesign and add necessary infrastructure. I can answer any other questions you may have, Josh, though I am not the course spokesperson.

      Any grass still alive at that course should be cultivated on a sod farm and sold for its high performance drought tolerance. I'm guessing it has to be some variety of Bermuda greens and tees?

    • @wacorichards6595
      @wacorichards6595 10 месяцев назад +23

      @@dyounger3021 there’s quite a bit still alive. Tee boxes are watered the most though the greens should be. I don’t know what type of grass it is. The way we play, to protect our clubs is, if you land in the “fairway” you can tee up so that you’re not hitting off of rocks. We do currently have some grass in fairways here and there but it’s tough to keep it alive in this heat with the limited water. Going forward, when the new course gets built and designed, I believe they’re bringing in sand and soil for anything that’s supposed to be green.

      seriously, the one employee they did have was chill. should be a 5. also not sure why customer service is even a thing in reviewing a course, like it almost never comes into play. you say hi and then play golf, unless they have a beer girl which while cool should not have such a heavy factor in reviews imo.

    It has potential, I would love to see the students turn this into a case study for golf course management. Over the next 30 years alot of southwestern golf courses are going to be looking like this when faced with inevitable water scarcity. By incorporating course design features like swales, dry creek beds, large shade trees, and heavy mulching; the landscape can be designed to hold water for longer periods. Great opportunity for community engagement, education and philanthropy at work.

    Meadowbrook golf course in Gettysburg, Pa. Clubhouse looks like something out of a horror flick.

    Lol, had a course similar to this near me growing up in TX, a liiiiitttle nicer but only $8 and BYOB. You were better off using your putter on the par 3s and, well.... most shots.
