    Just made these. Hands down the BEST low calorie protein donuts recipe ever. And I’ve tried all of em. The texture is just like moist choc cake. I know you recommend using oat flour but plain flour works just as well- if not better! 10/10 recipe. And great ratioing too. Easy to remember 😀.

    Hello Felu!
    Got a couple of questions
    1. Would any flour be fine?
    2. Would this recipe work without using Whey, PB2 and stevia? I wouldn't like to use those ingredients and I also don't have them.
    3. Is normal cow milk fine? I'm also considering using camel milk. Would that be fine?
    Thank you!

    • @hawksawed
      @hawksawed Год назад

      Hi. Whey/Casein protein powder is certainly needed to make this a high-protein option, otherwise just use anothe recipe. PB2 is a flavouring but you can choose to use anything else such as more cocoa powder/vanilla powder or even omit it. Stevia is a sweetener so use a sweetener of choice. Cow/camel milk is fine but it is higher fat than nut milk so just make sure to adjust macros/calories.

  • @kaniran1
    @kaniran1 2 года назад +2

    In a lot of recipes you use PB2 - habe you tried a substitution? Like apple sauce ... It might be to runny
    PB2 is hard to get in grocery stores how long does one container last you

    • @Felu
      @Felu  2 года назад

      PB2 is basically Peanut Butter in powdered form. So you can always add peanut butter instead PB2. It will have more calories and less protein tho. PB2 can be bought on Amazon and it can last months

    • @kaniran1
      @kaniran1 2 года назад +1

      @@Felu thanks for the quick reply, peanut butter like you said high in calories...
      Is it necessary for the consistency of the batter? I am only concerned about swapping ingredients for the batter of your recipes like I am still trying to find a casein substitute since I always have whey at home.... And i know the thickness of casein doesn't compare to whey. For example for the overnight oats which I eat myself long time now
      Convenience in having less different foods to buy 😉

    • @Felu
      @Felu  2 года назад +1

      You can absolutely make the recipe without PB2, even tho I would at least add a bit more fat then like maybe 60 calories worth of coconut oil or soemthing like that

    I generally use a 50/50 mix of Soy and oat/almond ... i find soy is better for cooking, but too much of it can overpower the taste of whatever you're making.

    The donuts came out very very dry and bitter.
    I think it is better to use less cocoa and a very sweet protein powder.
    Maybe even 15 minutes in the oven instead of 20.
