Step by step instructions for car stereo removal from 2005 Mercedes E320, and installation of GROM-MST3-MBO adapter for Mercedes Stereos with optical fiber technology. GROM-MST3-MBO allows to integrate Android phone, iPod, iPhone, in-car Bluetooth, USB stick and MP3 player. The system supports control over mobile device from the factory car stereo and steering wheel, Bluetooth phone calls and Bluetooth audio, direct smartphone integration.

Install at your own risk. In the video the Grom module is placed behind
the stereo. This can be a tight fit. If you drop the panel underneath
the passenger glove box area, there is a lot of room there where you can
route the Grom wires and mount the box. This location is not shown in
the video but may be a more preferable install location for the Grom
interface.

Buyer beware, if for whatever reason your vehicle isn't compatible with the MST4, GROM will not refund you outside of 30 days. Prior to purchasing, they informed me that it should work in my 2012 MINI after dealer reprogramming. Turns out they were wrong and it isn't compatible at all (my car lacks the necessary optical connections) and since it's outside of 30 days they are offering me a pathetic $80 buyback for a $280 product :(
To make a phone call you will need to dial it from the phone or activate by voice (if that is what programmed in your phone). In other words you will need to use phone settings. To accept the phone call or reject it you will use car stereo button or steering wheel button Next or Previous Track accordingly. Thank you.
The installation is the same. But you also has the option to connect at the trunk. CD changer has to be disconnected.

How does the phone support work on this? would i be able to hit the button for phone on the dashboard or will i have to dial on my phone first to make a phone call?

I have a e320 2003 it's with different console than that on the video ( mine don't have navigation ) is it possible to do the same ?

hi, i have a e280 2005 version but mine doesn't come with the same stereo unit as you have shown in the video, mine is a different version, the screen is smaller and monochromatic, it does have the same CD changer though....will this unit still be compatible?

What happens with cd changer -is it still usable?Can you switch between ipod and cd changer?

for the mic why not use the mic right beside the key ignition
With GROM products you need to use GROM microphone.
