    You made an error. The front and rear fork are fully adjustable, both rebound and compression damping.

      I stand corrected. It will be interesting to play with the Showa fork with settings that are more suitable for off-road. Thanks for the heads up

      And preload. Adjustable 3ways.

    • @D.E.X
      @D.E.X 8 месяцев назад +1

      Forks are preload, compression and rebound adjustable. Rear shock (although, if you are a heavier rider, you may want to change the spring) are rebound, compression, and rebound adjustable. Surprising that one of the main features that makes this motorcycle so much better, levels better, head and shoulders above the Transalp, and you got it wrong.
      But worse, now that you know you were wrong, THREE months ago, you have STILL NOT pinned a correction at the top of your review. Why?

    THE SUSPENSION IS FULLY ADJUSTABLE FRONT AND REAR. You would think a motorcycle magazine would do their research before they review a motorcycle. I mean you can see the clickers. Good review other wise.

    Slight correction: this is actually a 2023 model. Suzuki street bikes are on a later schedule than the MX models and the 2024 V-Strom 800DE hasn't yet been released.

      Hi David. I'm curious to know if the Vstroms 230kg weight is noticeable? Many comparison reviews between the DE & T7 suggest that the Suzuki doesn't feel as heavy as it looks on paper.
      Does it feel heavier than the T7 to push around the driveway & manoeuvre?

    I sat on one on the showroom floor and could not believe how heavy it was just to get it upright off the side stand. The spec sheet show's 500 lbs. I had a 650 VStrom and am very interested in this bike but man that's one heavy machine.

    After living in SoCal for a years and riding all over, i love watching reviews cuz I recognize almost all the areas. Smart man for keeping road signs and trail entrances off the vid!

    • @Frip36
      @Frip36 5 месяцев назад

      Why? People know where bikers live in their area. All you have to do is follow them home. What's the deal with narrator getting all salty with "If you recognize the road ("rote"), keep it to yourself."

    This is a great video. I’ve had my eyes on this for a while. Problem is I am 5’8 and a 30” inseam. Does it have a loweing kit?? I’m in BC Canada and planning a ride to Yukon. Again great video and safe riding!

    I can't believe this bike doesn't have cruise control. (This comment applies to the Honda transalp as well.)

    • @jonwoodworker
      @jonwoodworker 11 месяцев назад +4

      Buy a street bike if you want cruise control. Highway riding isn't ADV riding. I will admit any ride by wire bike should have it. Would cost the manufacturers like $2. I'm still buying this bike with or without.

      @@jonwoodworker I have a street bike. I want this bike to eat up large road miles before I go off road so don't tell me what I want.

    • @gtomcat321
      @gtomcat321 11 месяцев назад

      I agree along with the tubed tyres the lack of cruise control grinds on me. Then again I've never had cruise control on a bike.
      The Aprillia Tuareg 660 was on the top of my list but I don't think I could trust it. It would be at the back of mind wondering when something would fail or break.
      Would it still be reliable & dependable as a jap bike is at 60,000 miles?
      Also the Aprilia After sales service is shocking. I'm still really torn between the two....

    Ethanol actually reduces the risk of detonation. I doubt it that what you heard were detonations... The bike should take at least E10 w/o any worries.

    Nice review. You 'convinced' me to take a second look at this otherwise very ugly bike. How's the wind buffeting? Assuming that you also rode the original V-Strom 650, how's this motor compared to that one (which was/is a gem of a motor imo)? Thank you!

    • @dirtbikeron
      @dirtbikeron 11 месяцев назад +1

      Wind protection isn't great but the windscreen does have a little adjustability. The motor is much, much more torquey than the 650's. I loved the 650 back in the day but it was beginning to feel a little dated.

    The video contains just plain gibberish and incorrect information.
