Love the video guys, up to the usual high standard. Agree with your comments on Retro Squad, doesn't belong at a park like Alton Towers, needs some good permanent flat rides again. My personal favourite was Ripsaw back in the day. Bloody rip off prices for food and drink, wouldn't pay the prices to be honest guys.

Food prices have been increasing every year, they have jumped more than normal this year and it makes them look really bad. Packed lunches for a lot going forward Initially the retro squad were brought in on a 3 year thing so hopefully we will see some more permanent flats soon, the budget is there as the retrack will have been in budget for about 3 years and curse will have been budgeted last year
Food prices are insane, I’d be more accepting of it if the food was actually good and service quick. Poor show all around. I believe they’ve got the money for flat rides.
The Reason the Food Prices have shot up this year at Towers, is because Merlin have brought in Aramark. They did the food contact last year at all the Merlin parks in the UK except towers, increasing all the prices, thats why you will notice the massive increase at towers this year. It is what happens when you bring in a major contractor to supply your food. Worked with Aramark before in a naval base, sailors just purchased microwaves, and meal deals from the supermarkets, far cheaper than paying Aramark prices for meals.
Good vlog this one. Sounds like you had a mare with the smiler. We lucked out and got front row on Saturday and it was running well apart from the last two inversions which are just horrific. Least they’re over quick I guess 🙈 If we ever eat at towers it’s the chicken place opposite the smiler but we mainly take our own food as better and a lot cheaper. £17 for pizza and pasta is a scandal and they’re just taking the piss out of people 😷

Agree on food prices - not sure they are factoring in the cost on your frequent Pass visitors. The reason many buy a pass is to save money and visit lots. Imo you should be looking after your core customers the most! These prices…not for me.
Unfortunately it’s the day visitors and not the pass holders that pay the bills, pass holders might do some secondary spend but generally not as much as day ticket holders

The ancient squad rides are a waste of time at towers. They just look tacky. Listen I'm old enough to remember when towers opened. Only the kids from the well off family's could goto towers,us manchester kids has to slum it at pleasure Beach. Or go on school trips when old enough.
