yea thats so true, i love it when she sings for movies and sometime they put her songs in tvs( thats how i find her) she and lana del rey are really good from movie songs cuz of the way they sing i mean she has a way wider voice than lana but i think you know what i mean
I had the honour to be at one of the concerts of her How Big Tour. I've never experienced such a thing : I cried, I laughed, I danced. Flo is a goddess, she is incredibly fabulous ! She closed with this song, it was one of her best performances ever ! God, I love her music ❤
I can't stay away from this song, even after years of listening. Every week or so, I need my drumming song fix. It never ceases to make me feel recharged when I hear it. Magic of music. Also, the people who don't like or understand the video clearly haven't listened to the genius of Kate Bush or watched some of her videos. This is exactly the same. Running Up That Hill & The Sensual World are two examples. In actual fact, a lot of thought went into this video. The expressive dancing, costumes and even the location, are all relevant to the song, believe or not.
I LOVE how her songs are actually meaningful, videos artistic, yet she is so modest and truly has fun performing. She's also a joy to watch perform live.
There's a drumming noise inside my head That starts when you're around I swear that you could hear it It makes such an all mighty sound There's a drumming noise inside my head That throws me to the ground I swear that you should hear it It makes such an all mighty sound Louder than sirens Louder than bells Sweeter than heaven And hotter than hell I ran to a tower where the church bells chime I hoped that they would clear my mind They left a ringing in my ear But that drum's still beating loud and clear Louder than sirens Louder than bells Sweeter than heaven And hotter than hell Louder than sirens Louder than bells Sweeter than heaven And hotter than hell Louder than sirens Louder than bells Sweeter than heaven And hotter than hell As I move my feet towards your body I can hear this beat it fills my head up And gets louder and louder It fills my head up and gets louder and louder I run to the river and dive straight in I pray that the water will drown out the din But as the water fills my mouth It couldn't wash the echoes out But as the water fills my mouth It couldn't wash the echoes out I swallow the sound and it swallows me whole 'Til there's nothing left inside my soul I'm as empty as that beating drum But the sound has just begun As I move my feet towards your body I can hear this beat it fills my head up And gets louder and louder It fills my head up and gets louder and louder There's a drumming noise inside my head That starts when you're around I swear that you could hear it It makes such an all mighty sound There's a drumming noise inside my head That starts when you're around I swear that you could hear it It makes such an all mighty sound Louder than sirens Louder than bells Sweeter than heaven And hotter than hell Louder than sirens Louder than bells Sweeter than heaven And hotter than hell As I move my feet towards your body I can hear this beat it fills my head up And gets louder and louder It fills my head up and gets louder and louder
The lyrics, although short and repetitive, has such meaning, then combined with her voice, her flux, the composition and her expressive dance, it's the best show on earth
I saw her in Austin.. I swear it was misty and windy all day. Even through her opening act but when she came out. (I have a witness) the clouds went away. And it was a beautiful starry night. She is a Goddess.
Nathan YES!!! Oh, hell, yes! I was just thinking that they should have paid royalties, and used this song in the last two episodes of Season Ten. Because I get strong Simm Master and Missy vibes off of this song.
I love Florence. Why you ask? Sure sometimes the words in her song's make sense. But I don't listen to her songs because of the words. Its the Beat! It just makes me feel so powerful!!
What I love most about Florence is that she turns any everyday and simple occurrence into this dramatic and strong event. As if she's pointing out that these situations might happen to a lot of people, but when you're feeling something like that, if feels much more important and ground-shaking than any other song could convey.
With most songs, you listen. But some rare songs refuse to be merely listened to. They demand your attention and you get lost in the beat. This for me is one of those rare songs. Everytime I hear it, it gives me goosebumps. Daaaaaamn, I love music. lol
Flo flows like a mountain stream through the lush green toward the river that carries her to the sea where she's meant to be serenely at peace eternally
The difference between Florence then and Florence now, if she performed this song live today, she would sound just like the video. Back in the day she wailed a bit. I've loved them since they first appeared btw :)
By sirens, does she mean the mythical sirens that would lure sailors with their enchanted voices, or the boring sirens I heard last night when I broke into the White House?
Oh, I was wondering about that. There's a LOT of religious themes. Think "You've got the love". The pastor talking in the beginning of the Delilah video. Heck, the whole Delilah song is, I think, based on the story about Delilah and Samson(?) from the bible. [1] Then the church bells in this song. In "Only if for a night" There's a line that goes "Before the service began"; before, it is said that in the dream she's at her "old school", and she's "In the graveyard doing handstands", which makes me think that she's talking about a church service (graveyards are often next to churches) before school. Idk, there's probably more but these are just the first ones that come to mind, and yes you do have a point. [1] "Samson is betrayed by his lover Delilah, who, sent by the Philistines officials to entice him. [..] When the Philistines take Samson into their temple of Dagon, Samson asks to rest against one of the support pillars. After being granted permission, he prays to God and miraculously recovers his strength, allowing him to bring down the columns collapsing the temple and killing himself as well as all of the Philistines." - Wikipedia on Samson Think "and I'm calling for my mother / as I pull the pillars down" line from the song
I'll be honest... Florence dances like a crazy lady. But dammit, I love how she dances! It's like she's just feeling the music and tossing her body around to it, uncaring of what anyone else thinks. It's amazing.
The last look she gives you in this video, when she tilts her head to the side for a moment, just exudes a "top that, bitch" vibe. I fucking love it. ♥♥♥
I love Ceremonials but I just think Lungs brings out the real Florence alot more than Ceremonials does. Don't get me wrong, they're both amazing, but I'm just drawn more to Lungs. I loved her looks in the Lungs Era. I miss it
..how anyone would critisize such an outstanding work I can only guess..there is no doubt that this is one unique, beautiful, music video, and the singer is a genius..
wow wow wow and more wow. im incredibly picky when it comes to female singers and im totally in love with her voice! she absolutely rocks it out and im so glad that my radio station played shake it out or i would never have discovered her! keep on rocking!!!!!!!
Does anyone else feel incredibly awkward from watching her dance? I love the song, but awkward is the only word I can think of to describe her dancing.
I have to say, I thought it made a rather cool dance video considering how awkward it could have been. It's probably just a little awkward because we're not used to seeing her dance.
Florence has dyspraxia so she's not able to do choreography properly, so a lot of her best dancing is improvised. You'll notice that she's much less awkward when she's dancing alone than when she's trying to match the choreography of the rest of the girls. The director also kept shouting at Florence to push her legs forward, so that may have played some part in the awkwardness. Either way, I adore Flo's dancing.
Amanda Woolsey Seriously? No way, Florence and the Machine is UNIQUE. but actually yeah now that you mention it... Yeah. 😂😂I'm never gonna watch this video or listen to this song the same again.
she did say in a rollings stone video that she got inspired by rap music and early madonna for this album and drumming song... try watching it agian now :')
The clip is a bit disappointing. I think its a bite tame, something more grand and climactic would fit the song so much better. Also the dancing wasnt particularly... good.
Jaap Kes the dancing was suppose to represent the feeling she is describing in the song. The sexual and romantic frustration from falling love that can drive you to the point of almost insanity. I loved it lol
I like the tune but the video seems as if some seriously poor concessions were made to the idiots who claim to run the music industry. Sorry, but I believe these phony dance processes should be left to those whose only value is how much skin they show while pandering to a fickle audience. Florence and the Machine is entirely too talented for this kind pop-rendition tripe. Just my opinion...
I wasn't trying to insult the actual music. As I stated, I liked it. It was what I feel is a cheesy video that I am not a fan of. I enjoy FatM very much.
twicebitten thasme You'd probably prefer her newer videos then. It's kind of her just running around and throwing stuff/herself at things, occasionally in the rain.
I told my grandmother to hear Florence live. She said that she has a really rare clear voice. She asked me if Florence is a very, very popular person. Sadly I had to say no. After I told her she should look for Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, ... . She wouldn't believe me that they're more popular than this beautiful voice of Florence. "Do we really live in a time where boobs are more important than the voice?" she asked me.
Is there a replay button so I do not have to run back to hear it again? Listened to it 5 times over and still love hearing it. Going to drumming circle this weekend.
im a part of my schools dance company and we danced to this for our concert and we did beautiful to this song, but definetley not as awesome as this. thanks florence + the machine for creating spine tingling music
I think this is still my favorite Florence song and video. Sometimes I come back and watch it just to see her expression in the last frames. Hotter that hell indeed. I also like that this one doesn't have the obligatory Vevo commercial in front of it.
She said that in an interview, that the "drumming noise" is the sound that starts when you're getting close to the one you love. "As I move my feet towards your body, I can hear this beat /It fills my head up, and gets louder, and louder."
Was introduced to F+TM over a year ago, but hadn't paid close attention until I heard this song at a friend's place weeks ago... God, I'm so hooked - this song is addiction personified in music.
Looking at the number of views on this video, we can conclude that this song is really underrated.
That's because most people don't have personal taste. I'm talking about Ariana Grande and Belieber fans. Yes I am.
yea thats so true, i love it when she sings for movies and sometime they put her songs in tvs( thats how i find her) she and lana del rey are really good from movie songs cuz of the way they sing i mean she has a way wider voice than lana but i think you know what i mean
She uploaded it twice! The other upload has much more views!
Dude, this has more than 8.000.000 views. How can this be underrated?
Overproduced the Live so much better
Random fact - Florence said in an interview that she loves Doctor who and she'd enjoy a part as a villain/monster
Robert Summers that would be awesome!
AHHHHHHH
she could be the next master
She's seriously the full package.... Beautiful and so talented. All of her songs are poetry...

So much YES 🔥💜💯🤟‼️😭🙏
BURN ME PLZ LOL 😝✌
Exactly. Thank u for saying that, glad someone else feels the same way..

I went to her show in Austin! It was the most amazing experience of my life. Hope she comes back

She leaves me speechless, I've never been more moved my music until I heard Florence.
ruclips.net/video/sUJxRlnaku4/видео.html
Same.
The drums in the songs are just amazing, especially in Ceremonials. Very tribal. Pure awesomeness.
Flo is the only thing that can make an almighty sound that knocks me to the ground.
I LOVE how her songs are actually meaningful, videos artistic, yet she is so modest and truly has fun performing. She's also a joy to watch perform live.
There's a drumming noise inside my head
That starts when you're around
I swear that you could hear it
It makes such an all mighty sound
There's a drumming noise inside my head
That throws me to the ground
I swear that you should hear it
It makes such an all mighty sound
Louder than sirens
Louder than bells
Sweeter than heaven
And hotter than hell
I ran to a tower where the church bells chime
I hoped that they would clear my mind
They left a ringing in my ear
But that drum's still beating loud and clear
Louder than sirens
Louder than bells
Sweeter than heaven
And hotter than hell
Louder than sirens
Louder than bells
Sweeter than heaven
And hotter than hell
Louder than sirens
Louder than bells
Sweeter than heaven
And hotter than hell
As I move my feet towards your body
I can hear this beat it fills my head up
And gets louder and louder
It fills my head up and gets louder and louder
I run to the river and dive straight in
I pray that the water will drown out the din
But as the water fills my mouth
It couldn't wash the echoes out
But as the water fills my mouth
It couldn't wash the echoes out
I swallow the sound and it swallows me whole
'Til there's nothing left inside my soul
I'm as empty as that beating drum
But the sound has just begun
As I move my feet towards your body
I can hear this beat it fills my head up
And gets louder and louder
It fills my head up and gets louder and louder
There's a drumming noise inside my head
That starts when you're around
I swear that you could hear it
It makes such an all mighty sound
There's a drumming noise inside my head
That starts when you're around
I swear that you could hear it
It makes such an all mighty sound
Louder than sirens
Louder than bells
Sweeter than heaven
And hotter than hell
Louder than sirens
Louder than bells
Sweeter than heaven
And hotter than hell
As I move my feet towards your body
I can hear this beat it fills my head up
And gets louder and louder
It fills my head up and gets louder and louder

I knew Florence for this song, thank you South Africa 2010
Finally a fellow South African who knows/enjoys good music
"HERE COME THE DRUMS!"
-The Master
YYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Nathan YES!!! Oh, hell, yes! I was just thinking that they should have paid royalties, and used this song in the last two episodes of Season Ten. Because I get strong Simm Master and Missy vibes off of this song.
I love Florence. Why you ask? Sure sometimes the words in her song's make sense. But I don't listen to her songs because of the words. Its the Beat! It just makes me feel so powerful!!
one of my favorite florence songs!!
The drumming noise is her heartbeat for her lover
What I love most about Florence is that she turns any everyday and simple occurrence into this dramatic and strong event. As if she's pointing out that these situations might happen to a lot of people, but when you're feeling something like that, if feels much more important and ground-shaking than any other song could convey.
Flo's got LEGS
With most songs, you listen. But some rare songs refuse to be merely listened to. They demand your attention and you get lost in the beat. This for me is one of those rare songs. Everytime I hear it, it gives me goosebumps. Daaaaaamn, I love music. lol
I feel so much emotion in her voice every time she sings!
I love how she stands out not just because she's in the middle, but because of her hair too.
Flo flows like a mountain stream through the lush green toward the river that carries her to the sea where she's meant to be serenely at peace eternally
I was a baby back then ♥ Bless u Flo, still making my days happier 10 years later.
The Master gave the lyrics to Florence...
I couldn't help but thinking the same while watching this video...
I am so obsessed with this song.
All the colours just exploded, a sculpture came to life - this is Florence + The Machine!
The colours!! Full scream O.o
loow😰
I love how this showed up on my page. I used to watch this video and listen to all her music of her as a kid.
ruclips.net/video/sUJxRlnaku4/видео.html me too
if i could be one person for a day with a "voice" it would be Florence...my Lord.....:)
The difference between Florence then and Florence now, if she performed this song live today, she would sound just like the video. Back in the day she wailed a bit. I've loved them since they first appeared btw :)
By sirens, does she mean the mythical sirens that would lure sailors with their enchanted voices, or the boring sirens I heard last night when I broke into the White House?
she's so flawless. i saw her in concert and freaked out when she sang this. beautiful, perfect human being.
I like the religious symbols and themes in her music. She's not religious herself, which is interesting.
In "Only if for a night" There's a line that goes "Before the service began"; before, it is said that in the dream she's at her "old school", and she's
"In the graveyard doing handstands", which makes me think that she's talking about a church service (graveyards are often next to churches) before school.
After being granted permission, he prays to God and miraculously recovers his strength, allowing him to bring down the columns collapsing the temple and killing himself as well as all of the Philistines." - Wikipedia on Samson
Think "and I'm calling for my mother / as I pull the pillars down" line from the song
lol sorry for pinging a 5 year old comment:P all the ones at the top are really old for some reason...
I just want to look at her all day!
"I don't want to take over the world, I just want to know it's there for someone" -Blythe Baird
Just found this song in another video and LOVED IT! I'll certainly do some more research about this band.
Can't stop listening to this song
There is an AMAZING acoustic version of it on a "KEXP" session!
One of my favourites ❤️
I will destroy my hearing for this song and video with no regrets.....this woman is amazing.
I'll be honest... Florence dances like a crazy lady. But dammit, I love how she dances! It's like she's just feeling the music and tossing her body around to it, uncaring of what anyone else thinks. It's amazing.
my favourite song of all time
"The drumming Doctor! If only you could hear it. Constantly in my head!"
:) Was anyone else reminded of the Master?
The last look she gives you in this video, when she tilts her head to the side for a moment, just exudes a "top that, bitch" vibe. I fucking love it. ♥♥♥
I am still in love with this song and the album a decade later ... she got me through some very tough times
I friggin love this song!
Ohmygod she is gorgeous. I am such a wannabe ginger and this is why
thats not her real hair color
STOP RUNNING IN HEELS, YOUR GONNA HURT YOURSELF
true dat
Maximilian Whybrew Flo managed to run in heels fine, but broke her toe dancing around barefoot. Irony.
+Maximilian Whybrew Or just don't wear heels...
Andromeva it’s normal physics
This woman is so amazing. I want to know how she comes up with all these outfits, because they are AMAZING. Never change, Florence!
I love Ceremonials but I just think Lungs brings out the real Florence alot more than Ceremonials does. Don't get me wrong, they're both amazing, but I'm just drawn more to Lungs. I loved her looks in the Lungs Era. I miss it
SOUTH AFRICA 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP EA, Best Song
Amazing!:):):)

She is a blue and silver mushroom
There's a drumming noise inside my head that starts when I hear to this song
I am 394% positive someone broke or sprained their ankled while dancing in heels for this video
..how anyone would critisize such an outstanding work I can only guess..there is no doubt that this is one unique, beautiful, music video, and the singer is a genius..
Who's here in 2022? 🤩🔥
2024⭐️✨🖤
Florence. I want you to be my occult queen. Please ritually sing for me in one of your future videos. Thanks.
The music video does not do the song justice. :S Her voice speaks for itself.
So much energy and she gives it her all !
Beyonce has a song with a similar beat but I love this one a lot more😂
Might be crazy in love
Gingers Do Have A Soul :D
this song reminds me of the Master from Doctor Who!!!!
wow wow wow and more wow. im incredibly picky when it comes to female singers and im totally in love with her voice! she absolutely rocks it out and im so glad that my radio station played shake it out or i would never have discovered her! keep on rocking!!!!!!!
She is love Doctor Who. I think this song about Master! :D
dem legs
Dario M Dude, heaven is when you can just rest your head on her knees.
Does anyone else feel incredibly awkward from watching her dance? I love the song, but awkward is the only word I can think of to describe her dancing.

No, i didnt
Happy Birthday Florence!!! New 32!! This music video still seems like yesterday cause you haven’t aged a day! ❤️❤️❤️
I can really hear and see the influence Beyonce has had on this song and video
Amanda Woolsey
Seriously? No way, Florence and the Machine is UNIQUE. but actually yeah now that you mention it... Yeah. 😂😂I'm never gonna watch this video or listen to this song the same again.
Lol!

Your crazy as hell
The clip is a bit disappointing. I think its a bite tame, something more grand and climactic would fit the song so much better. Also the dancing wasnt particularly... good.

Sorry, but I believe these phony dance processes should be left to those whose only value is how much skin they show while pandering to a fickle audience.
Florence and the Machine is entirely too talented for this kind pop-rendition tripe. Just my opinion...
This was made in 2009.. Oh, what the hell of a point am I trying to make?..
I wasn't trying to insult the actual music. As I stated, I liked it. It was what I feel is a cheesy video that I am not a fan of. I enjoy FatM very much.
twicebitten thasme Oh, haha. c;
twicebitten thasme ...she is an interesting dancer, too, tho...it seems she enjoyed this production, it looks fun...
twicebitten thasme You'd probably prefer her newer videos then. It's kind of her just running around and throwing stuff/herself at things, occasionally in the rain.
drumming song tore so heaven is here could explode
I just feel epic listening to any Florence song.
I told my grandmother to hear Florence live. She said that she has a really rare clear voice. She asked me if Florence is a very, very popular person. Sadly I had to say no. After I told her she should look for Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, ... . She wouldn't believe me that they're more popular than this beautiful voice of Florence. i never get tired of this song...love it so much
I saw her in concert last night, she was wonderful! I love her!
wow amazing choreography! one of my fav songs ever and the vid does not disappoint
I'm also a redhead Catholic and this video is amazing. The video fit the song to a tee. I heart Flo.
I love this! She's dancing a lot in this! Plus the song is awesome just like the rest of her songs..!
I looooved the dance the women dancing! Pretty Amazing, so beautiful!!
Her hair is gorgeous ! So bold and naturally saturated
This is the first time i saw is the music video, surprisingly i dance like this ...
amazing ....
The dance kind of reminds me of the Rite of Spring. Awesome!
Either she is describing how passionately in love she feels or she has a seriously bad case of tinnitus.
This was the song that introduced me to Florence, been in love ever since
That quote from Florence makes me love her so much more.
Is there a replay button so I do not have to run back to hear it again? Listened to it 5 times over and still love hearing it. Going to drumming circle this weekend.
im a part of my schools dance company and we danced to this for our concert and we did beautiful to this song, but definetley not as awesome as this.
thanks florence + the machine for creating spine tingling music
that thrust @315 fills my head up ...
She's such an amazing artist!!
Cool groove. I might have to learn this to cover in concerts. Shawn R., Mo-Mutt Music
Amazing performer ...Such a powerful voice!
I think this is still my favorite Florence song and video. Sometimes I come back and watch it just to see her expression in the last frames. Hotter that hell indeed.
I also like that this one doesn't have the obligatory Vevo commercial in front of it.
I cant stop playing this song...it is mesmerizing
That is the Florence I love to watch over and over
I just love the look of this video, it's totally awesome.
how could anyone be so amazing....I mean, there are others...but where has she been all my life?
She said that in an interview, that the "drumming noise" is the sound that starts when you're getting close to the one you love. "As I move my feet towards your body, I can hear this beat /It fills my head up, and gets louder, and louder."
Was introduced to F+TM over a year ago, but hadn't paid close attention until I heard this song at a friend's place weeks ago... God, I'm so hooked - this song is addiction personified in music.
my fav video..it's so passionate!!it makes me wanna dance!
