How to ACTUALLY Build a "Daily Driver That You Can Take To The Track"

- I bought my 8th gen about a year and a half ago. The goal from the beginning has always been to keep this car as my daily driver, but with a twist. Most people strive for a "daily driver that they can take to the track." But nobody actually ever does it. Turns out its not that hard. I'm going to be bringing you along with me in setting up my 2008 Honda Civic Si 8th gen for the track while keeping it daily drivable.
Today's video is episode 1. I will be reintroducing you to the car, going over the current mod list, and then taking you for a drive and walking you through what's to come in this series.

Ayy more 8th gen stuff! I've got my FA5 mostly where I want it for now till I'm ready to do cosmetics. Acuity shifter, hondata, q300, a header, and a decent radio and speakers makes for a pretty fun daily

Hey John, love your vids. I got the same car, 23K miles as of yesterday. I switched out my wheels for some Enkeii EKM3’s, Yonaka Catback, AEM Longtube Cold Air Intake, and a Hondata Reflash to get rid of the Rev Hang. Runs like a dream. I think about adding a Header, but I’m not sure if the Juice is worth the Squeeze.

8th gen content is awesome, I have a 6th gen accord and probably thinking about buying one if you could possibly list off some problems to look for when buying one, just though love the videos!!
Sixth gen accords have much better suspension than 8th Gen civics. Lmao even my 7th gen civic has a better suspension than the 8th.

Bonnet raisers don’t aid in cooling. The bottom of the screen is a high pressure zone hence the HVAC intake being there. If anything it will impede cooling by increasing pressure in the bay reducing air movement over the radiator.

fyi dont use VR1 if you have a cat converter in your exhaust. itll mess it up
You just need a spacer, +20 is perfect for -3 camber. I’m running +35 with a 15mm spacer. With proper spring rates you probably won’t rub at all even under hard compression.

Bought my sons fg2 a year ago for 3200, it has high mileage but we havent did anything to it besides alternator, charge wire and ground wire upgrades, oil pressure sensor was leaking and we changed the ac compressor.

I just got me a euro honda civic type r with a K20z 4
Just did bc coils, koyo rad, hondata, hr intake, full race exhaust, spc camber kit, buncha bushings and random shit to mine
How are the BC coilovers?
@jefflebo5836 solid! Had some old function form type 2s on it when I bought it. At least 1 was blown so huge difference in ride quality and noise. I'd bump up the spring rates next time around buts it's my daily so nothing too crazy 8k front and rear.
john, do you have the camera gear that you use listed anywhere?
Not currently, but I’m running a Sony A6400 with a sigma 10-18 f2.8
I use that one lens for pretty much everything.

I soo want to see you build this car to the max bro 😅... i want its, i think 8th gen, and a ep3 myself one day lol ... they are dope cars and come with the almighty k series, so i feel it be perfect to make a great build .. i like to try to utalize and build the oem engines to cars to see what they are capable of ... cuz lets face it swaps everyone already knows what the engine is capable of , hence why yhey are swapping it ... i really think its more a challenge and a bigger win when you can buold something others cant or dont as apposed to just change it to what every other generic build is .. boring ... anywas .. peace and love all keep it rad stay safe and build on.. l8z famz and keep having fun brotha 🤘🏽✌🏾🔥🏎.. double doggies whoop whoop lol .. and on your pullups or workout in general , i have best results being a smaller dude myself when i stay under tension so never fully go down and on lifts the same .. least that was when i seen the biggest and best results to my arms .. but im also 5'7" and like 155 lol 😂.. peace, love , and respect bro and misses boosted john lol

10w-30 on an 8th gen? Is it because they burn oil ? I’ve only run 5w-30 on mine but I do have to top off every month or so due to oil burning
I run 10w-30 in pretty much everything haha.
What lug nuts do you have on that civic?
