Thanks, Being an 81 year old senior, my retention is starting to slip, having the ability to go back into your video and play it over again until it finally sinks in is a big help. You've given me the incentive to take old pictures of pictures and start organizing my photo's on my iMac. Regards, Richard R

Excellent, simple to follow tutorial. I've had an iPad 9th Gen for about six months now, and I've just upgraded my iCloud so that I could store photos from my SLR. Of course, I use Google photos on my PC and Android phone, but wanted to learn how to put the jpegs onto the iPad/iCloud, leaving the raw files on my desktop. I couldn't believe how simple it was after watching your tutorial. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for this - and a lot of other very informative - videos! You might have mentioned, that a deleted photo is not deleted immediately, but is stored in the "deleted photo's" file for 30 days and can be retrieved if you should wish!
dear Rich, I discovered you on you tube a few weeks ago, I am very happy with your explanation about the i pad that I have had for several years. I am a Dutch man of 74 and not very handy with digital, but through your videos I manage quite well. thanks for that. I salute you, Kees👍
Hi Rich, I have only had an iPad for 2 years but you have taught me more in this video than I have had the chance to learn within that time. I am so grateful. Keep doing what you do. Cheers ✌️😀
I thought I had the photos app down, but you taught me something new. When cropping I always drag the borders and often struggle in this. Never thought of pinching on the photo and pushing out. What a great tip! Thanks again Rich!
I love how carefully and simply you explain things. Thank your mom for me. Unfortunately I’m watching you on my iPad so I can’t go to photo library for instance. And then by the time I turn off the video it’s hard to retain the information. Being of an age I actually jot notes
I'm heading home to see mom and dad this week. I'll let them know you said "hello!" Keep at it. A lot of the stuff on the iPad will be second nature before you know it. Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you Rich for explaining the photo app and how if works. I am now busy getting organised of what to put in and what to leave out. Keep up he good work
Thank you again, Rich. I have a ton of older photos (from 5-8 years ago) on my MacBook Pro laptop, and would love to get them on my iPad. I'm sure there is a simple way to send them over. That'd be a helpful video for me!
Great tutorial. But here's a question you did not address. I have many photo files on various USB drives. These files relate to specific events (i.e., vacations, etc.). Is it possible to import and copy (or Move) each file separately into My Albums WITHOUT first "Selecting" them from all the other photos in the Library. The problem with the selection feature is that upon importing a separate collection of photos, they get mingled with the many other photos that I already have in the Photos App. It can be a hassle to sort them out so as to keep each event separate in its own Album. I just want to import a particular file of photos into the app, name it, and not have to select each separately to a new album name. Any help is appreciated.
These videos are excellent and easy to follow. I have an iPad, and an iPod. Because I was curious as to what Android has to offer, instead of getting an iPhone I used an Android Prestigio phone which I bought from the TV shopping channel in 2014 and was still lying in its box. Do you do any videos on Android because these videos are just what I have been needing.
Hello Rich. Amazing tutorials. Glad i found you. I recently bought a pen gen 2 and am trying to…draw squares on a blank picture of a my dining room wall to see how it would look…. Before i punch holes everywhere 😅. Mind b…task. Is there any way i can just copy paste a picture on…photos/ipad pro, repeatedly, and be done! 😁 to see the resulting design. Thanks for a reply if you ever see this, or anyone?🌹
Many, many thanks Rich. I spent most of last night and the wee hours this morning catching up on your very informative videos. I discovered some on the use of the iPhone as well as the iPad. After years of using the iPhone I discovered new things from your tutorials that I never knew of. Very helpful stuff. Thanks again.
Hi Rich first off thank you very much your videos has helped me a lot I have been able to solve some problems I've had by watching your videos but there is one problem I've had that maybe you can help me with there are times I have to send or attach a photo to an e-mail or text to the doctor and when I try to attach the photo it wont let me do it saying the photo is too large and can't be bigger than 4 mgb how can I resize the photo to be able to send as an attachment thanks again .
How do you save all your photos to an usb? Mine is older and is 12.5 ios, so the cable I got won't work. Very frustrated in trying to figure this out. I just want to make sure all my photos can get on icloud, on our mac, and save to an usb so I can print a few. Thanks so much! Love your videos.
Hi - thanks for all the tips..very helpful. Would you share what is the metal holder you use for holding your ipad? Do you think it’s strong enough for an iPad pro?
Hi Rich, love your videos they are so easy to understand and are well instructed. But I was just wondering if it is possible in the Photos app to somehow sort stored albums in alphabetical order? If you have some way of doing this it would be good to know.
OK! I have a question about the pictures why can’t you delete the picture from your gallery once you made a folder for it (without the picture being deleted from the folder as well) Thank You 🙏🏾
I definitely consider myself as a "Senior" for I am 80. I spent over an hour with the kind tech rep from apple. Got off the phone and cried. Here is what I would like to do without misplacing my mind or my husband of 50 plus years, poor thing. I wish to select a discrete number of photos, transfer them to my Dell Latitude then pass them along to the family. On Mother's Day our dear sister passed away and I have decided to created a memorial album in her memory (all my sisters and brothers wish to contribute). The album needs photos and I wish to send entire albums, a small group of photos as a time, to each family member since they do not have the family albums an would so enjoy having them. The rep showed me how to put them on the iCloud but now all the photos when viewed on either the iPad or the Dell Latitude are blurry. If you have any ideas, I would appreciate your knowledgeable input. Thank you a bushel and a peck. H... Oh, lest I should forget, thank you... your video clear away a bit of the fog.
Another helpful video, thank you. If you take a photo of an old photo, how do you identify the year in which it was actually taken as opposed to the year in which you took the photo on the iPad? Thank you.
Easy to understand, however my biggest problem is youtube stopping and if I try to restart it does but with no sound. This happened while watching this video! I have looked for hints everywhere and tried to no avail. Any ideas?
I just subscribed and watched my first 5 point video. Every thing was clear, concise and I could actually follow it!! Is there an index of subjects covered re ipads? Just got my 1st ipad, my photos are in it, but I see no way to fwd a photo by TEXT. Can I be helped?
Sorry for my truncated earlier note. I've assembled 179 pictures from numerous sources besides Apple sources for my grandson's graduation. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to collect all the pictures in chronological order. I figured it would be simple drag and drop process to reassemble the file within the folder for a looping slideshow. It might be but I can't find the procedure on my iPad Pro to do it. Can you please help me? Thanking you ahead of time, John
Hi Rinch, thanks a bunch just a few questions as I m a new Apple user and not really familIar. When I delete a photo, do I delete also from the created album? In your example the grandson album. And in the last photo from a photo how can I place it in the real related year, in your example 30 years ago. Thanks again for sharing.
When you delete a photo from a album, you're really just removing the photo from the album. The picture is still in your library. The photos app will sort your photos by year (If you took the pictures with a digital camera like the iPhone) so you don't even need to create albums. Otherwise, you can just create albums for each year and add photos to each album as you like. Hope this helps!
Thanks so much. Scanning photos with the iPhone or iPad are, at best, ok. But sometimes I just want to see those old pictures and I dont care so much about the quality as long as the scan is nor horrible. Otherwise those old photos would just live in a box in my closet.
Thank you very much for this calm and pleasant presentation. Having only recently moved from Windows to Apple, my JPEGs were also moved to Apple‘s Pictures folder. I then moved these JPEGs into the Apple Photos app. All new JPEGs are now also stored in the Photos app. Can I now delete the Pictures folder with all of the JPEGs, excluding the Photos library file? Thank you once again. Ralf
I'm always so cautious when I'm asked about deleting photo folders. Without seeing your structure I'm reluctant to say yes. But it does sound like you've put the pieces together correctly. I guess you could make a copy of the Pictures folder and give it an odd name, delete the Pictures folder and see what happens. If it all still works you could then delete the odd named folder. I'll leave this decision to you. Thanks so much for watching!
@@RichBowlin Thank you, Rich. Yes indeed, a practical option. In that regard Windows was a little less complex, where the Photos folder was the Photos folder with no inbuilt native Windows alternative.
Hi Rich how do you delete a photo from an album? I have 4 photos in my selfie album or folder and when i try to delete them it wants to delete them from icoud completely. i dont want to delete them completely just move them out of that folder.
Hi Rich I have a question ? Screenshot : when I take a screenshot and put it in a Album say for reference and then go back and delete the screenshot why is it also deleted in the Album I just created ? Any advice would be appreciated thanks
So all of your photos go into the library. That's the one place they actually live. When you create an album and add photos to the album you're not actually "moving" the photo into the album. The software just makes a reference back to the original photo in the library. So when you delete it from the library it's gone. If you delete it from an album you created, the photo still lives in the library. Hope this makes sense.
Ipad video's are a great help. An American speaking English is number one😀 No ducking flying hands.😄 sensible action speed. Yes I know but some of us are not familiar with words hitting us at warp speed😂 All Good but... Well some of us having problems with hearing😢 The majority I would guess would not even know that there was a background noise or it is not intrusive. OK. accept that, for me, though it is torture🤬 Yes I can turn off the sound which I do on many videos and use the dodgy caption facility. Not the same though, but my question is why is the noise there in the first place? Many would claim it enhances the experience. Really? If the content is about viewing physical actions and the spoken word how does a third element improve on an already first class presentation. Just a thought Rich. Keep well and safe.
Thanks so much for the constructive feedback. I'm learning how to make these videos better as time goes on. The music adds a little continuity to the presentation. My 92 yr old mother is not a fan and asked me to turn it down. So now I have it barely audible in the background. I'll get it right one of these days! Thanks so much for watching.
@@RichBowlin Rich, compared to the quality of your presentations, my observation is something and nothing. However, with no intention of teaching anyone to suck eggs. Hi Lorna! On e way to accomplish what you're trying to do is create an album and then put your sheet music in the album. Once the images are there, you can drag them to the order you'd like. Hope this helps!

I guess I trust iCloud. At least for now. But like you, I have backed up my photos to a local hard drive just in case something goes wrong. So far, iCloud has worked fine. I know a number of really cautious people who've moved to iCloud which makes me feel a little better. But I hope others see your comment. I should have mentioned all this in the video. Thanks so much for watching!
Hi Sally! You can certainly text a photo. In the photos app choose a picture. Then tap the share sheet icon and choose messages. From there just type who you're sending the photo to and you're good to go. If you don't know about the share sheet I made a video you might find helpful: ruclips.net/video/nm_nXUJok-8/видео.html
That's why I added time stamps so you can skip around. This intro was about 2 minutes, which is a little longer than usual. But with these videos I've found setting the context helps. Thanks for watching.

Hi Lorna! On e way to accomplish what you're trying to do is create an album and then put your sheet music in the album. Once the images are there, you can drag them to the order you'd like. Hope this helps!
@@RichBowlin It certainly does - bless you for that!
Do you have a video on using markup in photos on I pad?
I don't but that's a good idea. I've thought about making a video on editing photos using the Apple Pencil but not sure if anyone would be interested. Thanks for watching!
I have windows computer- had a Mac Apple years ago so how do I even find an app for photos- I did put important oldies on a stick
See you have an iPad but I don’t - it’s a windows and there are no apps accept google app. So I can’t do all that
I miss that iPad. It was the first one out and it lasted until 2021
Yes, these videos are made primarily for iPad users. You know...it might be time for a new iPad if you can afford one. They're not the cheapest thing you know. But the base iPad is a great bargain. Thanks so much for watching.
💕👍 😀
When I touch the tab on left, the photo app crashes. What do I do?

I don’t trust cloud storage, and I don’t use it. I back up to my own storage device because I own and control it
I guess I trust iCloud.
Reading through the comments and replies gives me HOPE! Thanks! I will look for a reply to my qstn re fwding photos by TEXT with my new ipad
Ya too much spying on where yiu have been ?
2 and a half minutes and still no instructions. Why does everyone have to do a 5 minute intro. Just tell me how to add pictures to the gallery app.
That's why I added time stamps so you can skip around. This intro was about 2 minutes, which is a little longer than usual. But with these videos I've found setting the context helps. Thanks for watching.
