      @alansamuel2454 9 месяцев назад +2

      I'll have to disagree with you. She can break 48 if she stays safe and avoids injury. Coming this far ahead in her first season actually focusing on the 400m is stellar but an improvement over a 1.5 seconds at this level, this soon is too, too much it's absurd even thinking of. I'd say she can break 48 maybe in 2025 but then she will will start to plateau.
      Take it from me, I'm a huge track and field fan and love seeing WR's broken but the 400 m record is going to take a 400 m specialist only to beat it. It won't happen anytime soon. Naser made us think it was possible until we found otherwise.

    • @alansamuel2454
      @alansamuel2454 9 месяцев назад

      @@minichikimakubex Also it's important to talk about incentive and competition. Nearly every year anyone who breaks 49 will be the best seasons best performer. It's only been a very recent phenomenon that we even see more than one athlete dip under 49 in a single season.
      Unless someone explictly gets over the mindset that I don't just want the Olympic Gold or WC gold, I outright want the WR and plans the season explicitly to perfection, I don't see the WR being broken. That is something one can only get after years and years of global success in an event, something which Sydney has yet to achieve in the 400m.
      That being said, I'd love to see the WR off the all time list as it's pretty well known that's not clean and would love for her to prove me wrong.

    Now at that point she'll wanna break the 47.6 record for the 400. She can do it, only question is will it be next year or the year after... Her fitness level, and running Health and evolving strategy and pacing with determine that. She's already a legend with 400 Hurdles WR and doesn't need this 400m

  • @virgilius7036

    You have to watch her teenage races to believe it. Aged 16, she is already 52.44 on the flat. When a 17 years old girl ran 49.85 in a 4x400m split to win and an under-20 400m indoor world record of 52.52. At 18 years she ran the flat 50.07 in the rain in 2018. With this time she would have been 4th at the Eugene World Championships. It's amazing for such a young girl! How much faster is it 5 years later? 47.91 split last year without opposition, due to his very large lead, it is possible to guess what she can do in competition against opponents. Everything indicates that with Bob's training on the flat she will drop below 48, and perhaps world record. She said herself that she set no limits. She's Sydney!

    Sydney probably restarts her 400m project to win also an Olympic 400m flat Gold. But Paulino is hard to beat. Sydney has already an Olympic 400mh Gold so likely no interest and so the floor giving to Femke again.

    I think she will break a 48.5 in her career and maybe even a 48-48.25, but as of now I do not see a sub 48 possible for her. I think she is too inexperienced in the 400 and may remain that way before she can reach for something like a sub 48. I hope she recovers quickly so she can prove me wrong!

      Come on man, it's nearly obvious she can break 48.5, it's hardly something worth speculating. Of course that's assuming no injuries. But yes like you, I don't think she will break the 48 second barrier this year or the next. She just might in 2026 if she plays all her cards right.

    Femek Bol set the indoor 400 and 500 world records, not Sydney. Bol is the 2023 world champion in the 400 hurdles, not Sydney. Sydney is not the 2023 world champion in the 400. "Would have and could have" is nice in videos but does not mean achievement. Sydney - like all athletes - has to prove it on the big stage.
    I love how this video person attempts to act as if Sydney has little to no 400 experience. Hello!!!! Sydney has been a 400 meter star since she was under the age of 10 years old!!! She has been on elite 4 x 400 relays. She is not a novice to the distance.
